Friday, 08 May 09, 12:28 PM · Comments (17)

Seydou Keita during last summer's tour of the US.

It has been confirmed that Barça will tour the USA again this summer. The team will fly out on July 29th returning to Barcelona on August 9th. The first game will be against Los Angeles Galaxy on August 1st at the Rose Bowl in Pasedena. Then we will travel to Seattle where we will play Seattle Sounders FC in the Qwest Field on August 5th. The opponents and venue for the third game have yet to be confirmed. I hope all you readers from America can give us some more information about these teams and their players.

LA Galaxy are not doing well in mls right now they have 8 points from 7 matches. It is the team that landon donavan plays for. he is tied in the league for most goals with 5. by the time august comes around Beckham will be back from loan with AC Milan.

Seattle is in their first year of existence. their history is 7 games but they are second in the league with 13 points. Long time USA keeper Kasey Keller plays for them. Also Fredrik Ljungberg plays for them.

I went to the game in Houston in 06 when Barca played Chivas of Mexico and that was one of the greatest games I have ever been part of. Barca scored 3 goals in the last 5min to tie the game 4-4. The stadium was packed (80000+) and there were thousands more outside. I hope they play here again or in Dallas, though Chelsea is playing in Dallas in July so the game might be on the East Coast for Barca.

Seattle is close to DC right?? i think you could go there..
For some reason (actually, ONE reason), i'm following Seattle Sounders in their 1st season, and they're far better than their opponents so far..they play actual football, with the ball on the ground, have good players..sometimes i wonder if they are watching Barça to get some inspiration =D
I think Freddie's doing a tremendouns benefit to that league, not like beckham who took the cash and run away.. and seattle fans are VERY loud and passionate!

According to Soccernet it's expected to be a west coast trip to the US. Seattle, LA, and I'd expect the third team to be San Jose Earthquakes. The other west coast team is Chivas USA but they're in LA and it would be odd to have two LA teams.

It looks like FC Barcelona has wounded the entire football universe. people are still commenting on the Stanford Bridge events: goals, cards, penalties, swearing, etc. it will really take a while for the remnants of the pain and agony to dissapear.they better defeat arsenal to suppress the pain.

damn, sergio ramos is still in pain. read GOAL.com

peace out.

Hey Nic, I just read on the Barca website that we have been awarded 19,544 tickets for the final in rome. The capacity of the Stadio Olimpico is 82,000 however so what does that mean?? And ironically we've been billed as the home team.. 8O

why is that a bad thing being the home team? we get to play in home uniform ha!!

what i meant was that in a stadium of 82000 why do we get only 19544 tickets???? am i missing something here? the home team thing was just to emphasize the irony of getting less than a quarter of the seats and still being called the "home team". Ofcourse its great that we get to play in our traditional colors but my main issue is with number of fans we'll have inside the stadium...

the capacity is 72,000 and the same amount of tickets provided to Man U(same as barca)hopefully. Rst of the tickets goes for the people in in taly, sponsor companies,honouraries...just like out 19544 tickets barca got 3000 would go companies and personal commited to barca....

Haha...hey someone should send a map to Maria Ines...lol...no, seriously happens to the best of us and she is very pertinent in her comments so, we can forgive this one.

I think i will make plans to go to the Seattle game.

I am going to both the LA and Seattle games. Maria Ines it's funny you mention that they play like fcb, because the club is structured after it. Comedian and part owner Drew Carrey has structured the Sounders after FCB, including everything from members voting on the administration to a marching band. And the fans are incredibly loud. The 32,000 that were at the SSFC game I attended were twice as loud as the 70,000 I was a part of at Camp Nou. But that was last year, I can imagine they're louder now.
