right now i don't care about the next calender. i am worried about the board wasting time in signing players for 3 key positions: left back, midfielder(50% offensive, 50% defensive) and a left winger for the attack. i have 2 players maxwell & moutinho. i wish we had zhirkov. i do not know this felipe luis guy, but if he was in the best 11 of the 08/09 season, then he must be good.
OK why is barcelona using the press to discard ETO'O. this is a mixture of madness & ungratefulness. i suggest you guys go to wikipedia and look at fc barca's trophies. this team had nothing in their cabinet since 1999.
LINK
the arrival of ETO'O and CO changed the club dynamic putting barca back into the mega clubs orbit:
La Liga : 2005, 2006, 2009
Copa del Rey: 2009
Supercopa de España: 2006
UEFA Champions League:2006, 2009
who has provided the goals to win all these trophies? who has been europe's most consistent scorer for the past 5 seasons? thanks to his efforts, the team will be participating in 6 competitions next season:
La Liga
Copa del Rey
Supercopa de España
UEFA Champions League
FIFA Club World Cup
UEFA Super Cup (VS Shahktar Donetsk)
Let us be reasonable for a minute. which footballer will not want to take part in these competitions after working so hard for it. Let us be honest with ourselves. being among the club's top scorers, being part of the new barca dream team, candidate for individual awards, etc ETO'O has labored for all this. ETO'O is as important as Xavi, Puyol and the rest. if his current pay is 7.5m as THEY claim, sitting down and taking to about 7.7m or 7.8m is not bad, it is only motivation and we all know how motivation makes adrenaline flow in ETO'O's veins and boots. I honestly think that my boy is hesitant to move away from all this potential 6 trophies only for some new guy (villa,K9,forlan) to rip away his benefits and take credit. SO IS ETO'O NO LONGER FC BARCA MATERIAL BECAUSE HE WAS NOT PICHICHI? tell me why? 8O

Could it be possible that we once in a lifetime had a classico return leg in the Camp Nou? It's most certainly paranoid and somebody will come and tell me when was the last time that this occurred (2004-05?) but I really feel like we ALWAYS have to play Madrid in the Bernabeu in the close season ffs!!!
As for the Eto'o situation, I think it's really getting annoying, and both parties are at fault. The Cameroonese is just one of the greadiest players around (well, why shouldn't he after all...) and the club is just not able to cope with the situation.
Happilly, we'll have the luck to enjoy Gudjohnsen in our team one more year, what whith no other team wanting to offer the half of what he will earn in one last year on the Barça bench and the perspective of a free transfer and hence of a huge signing on fee next summer. No complaint whith the Viking's efforts, plus I just come back from a Iceland holyday where it was a joy to be a Barça fan, but this was a bad day and I suffer from a "comeback to work syndrome" and I feel this football close season is very depressing. Maybe just the counter-effect of what we enjoyed in May...

I think that the matches against Madrid will be good ones. I am not sure who I predict will win but I say barca. Why? Because yes Madrid has Ronaldo and Kaka but they do not have team chemistry. That is something Barca has for sure. As long as Messi Iniesta Etto Puyol and Henry stay on Barca will be perfectly fine!
BTW Ronaldo is my favorite player

Ozone, you are my new best friend in regards to eto'o. He has done so much for us, especially scoring in both CL finals. it makes me sad that so many ppl are willing to let him leave for david villa. They're basically the same age, and eto'o is both taller and stronger than villa. Pique was quoted as saying that the whole team asked the board and the coach to keep eto'o at the start of last term. they know how valuable he is. i think eto'o would definitely rather play for 6 titles, than go to man city who are out of europe next season. i don't know whether to believe laporta or not in regards to him, about the apparent 2 year renewal deal they offered him, and eto'o not returning his phone calls. If we land villa, that's fine; i just hope eto'o stays.

Eto'o must stay...

I'm anxious for the season to start and can't wait
The list looks good and at least nobody is out to screw us with an 'everest' challenge.

We just need to add to the squad depth.

@ MikeM ,

It looks like Eto'o will be leaving after all . Let's hope he does NOT make an ass of himself in doing so .

You are right about adding some new players however this could take some time though as our experience with the current board has taught us .

It is almost as excruciating as pulling your own teeth !!

will Pep and Laporta's attitude to Eto'o change if they can't get Villa ?

could they be stuck playing Henry as the central striker next season ?
