Champions League First Leg At Home On August 13.

Tuesday, 05 August 08, 01:44 PM · Comments (12)

After some initial reports that Barça were trying to get either Beitar Jerusalem or Wisla Krakow to agree to playing the second leg at Camp Nou, it has now been confirmed that the first leg of the Champions league qualifier will take place at Camp Nou on August 13. The 2nd leg will be played on Aug 26/27.

Meanwhile Barça are in New York preparing for tomorrow night's game against the New York Red Bulls. Barça trained in Central Park and also had representatives at the opening of Wall Street today. They are publicising an excellent campaign to combat malaria called "Malaria No More", I have to say that things like this make me proud to be a Barça fan.

In other news today Txiki Begiristain has declared that a decision over Samuel Eto'o's future will be taken by August 12, trying to guess the outcome in this case is very difficult but I've got a feeling that he'll stay in the end. Let's hope so anyway.

As I write, Barça are still waiting for the decision on their appeal to get Leo Messi back for the Champions League game. I have to say that at this stage it is probably better to let him stay in China as more long haul flights will do him no good at all.

Lastly for now, it seems as if finally Marc Valiente could sign for Sevilla after all. Negotiations are believed to be nearing an end, but who can say if the deal will be sealed in the end.

Let Messi play in the Olympic.. give him the chance. First leg, i believe we can score more than 3 goals at Camp Nou.

Txiki Begiristain and (coach) Pep Guardiola are just ashamed due to what they said at first about offloading Eto'o from camp nou.We have to watch our tongue before saying things to the press. Now I can see that it's not an easy task for them to withdraw the statement. If they actually want to sell Eto'o they should reduce the high demand fee that they have been asking. Besides let's wait and see the replacement of Eto'o if he's sold. I don't think that person will be better than eto'o as he will need just this season to adapt if he is coming from a different league side. So (coach) Pep Guardiola and your so call technical director or who ever. Open your eyes before it's late.

That is good news but I think Barca should let Messi go to the Olympics after the first leg of the CL qualifier. It would be the right thing to do. Othrwise, the relationship between the player and the club will only get worse !!

Blaugrana namibia. Don't worry, the polls will start again soon. Still the odd technical difficulty with getting used to the new site.
