Deco Signs For Chelsea

Monday, 30 June 08, 09:17 PM · Comments (17)

As had been expected for some time Deco has signed for Chelsea. The london club confirmed the transfer today and Chelsea will pay Barça €10 million for the Portuguese star who has signed for two seasons. Deco was one of the cornerstones of the team that won La Liga in 2004/5 and 2005/6 and the Champions League in 2005/6. However, his form has been disappointing in the last two seasons as he struggled with various personal problems. He played well in Euro 2008 and could well refind some of his old form for a new club. While we may not cry too much now to lose him we should never forget what a great player he was in those first two seasons. So, thank you Deco for some great memories, I wish you luck at Chelsea (I just hope you don't win anything for the b*st*rds   :p  )

So long, Deco. It was a good run during those two good seasons while he seemed to have a drive while in a barca shirt. Things have changed of course. It will be interesting what the camp will be like if/when we ever play chelsea in champ league again. But wait, we have to qualify for that yet...

I will miss Deco, he was the heart of the team at our peak. Its real sad how everything has turned out for him and dinho, but at barca thats how it always is sadly (rivaldo, kluivert etc.) At least deco was a true professional, look at these pics of dinho over the weekend in a charity match vs messi's team

lol

there is no way the dinho in the left picture could be the one on the right. The guy on the left hips would be too big to be where his hands are on the right pic.
I saw a glimpse of ronaldinho (in a box or something) during the recent brazil vs argentina WC qualifier and he looked well to me.

Screw the media !

Hi Nic,

Have you noticed that when you go to the Barca offical website and go to the official store, you cannot order a personalized kit with Deco, Eto'o, or Ronaldinho's name anymore, but you can still order all of the other 1st team player names. I think this may be a clue that these players are definitely gone (at least we know Deco is for sure).

Just a thought. What do you think? We need 2 more big names to fill their shoes! Any ideas who else we will sign?

Thanks!

Hope he never wins anything at Chelski scum.
Been poor 2 seasons. Don't get me wrong Deco was good before, but he just like Ronaldinho, always wanted to party and disco dance.

i think we let them underpay. we should have held out for at least 15 or 19. but whatever, its good we sold him. we cant keep waiting for him to play consistently and stop getting drunk and partying. im very happy to let him go.

At least (Guardiola) is getting rid of the bad infulences and the players who are never going to get within an asses roar of the first team.It shows everybody that he means business.
