Good Start To Weekend For Barça Internationals

Saturday, 11 October 08, 12:14 PM · Comments (9)

How To Celebrate A Goal Cameroon Style

Up to 17 Barça players are on international duty this weekend and things have started well with big wins for Samuel Eto'o's Cameroon and Toure Yaya's Ivory Coast. Eto'o scored the first two goals in Cameroon's 5-0 win at home to Mauritius, the first goal came in the 26th minute while the second was from a penalty at the start of the second half. Toure played all 90 minutes in Ivory Coast's 3-0 victory over Madagascar. Both Cameroon and Ivory Coast have now qualified for the following stage in the qualifying stage for the 2010 World Cup. Also on international duty was our 17-year-old promise Gai Assulin who played for Israel's under-21 in this afternoon's 0-0 draw away to Italy.

nic i read in one of the spanish papers that messi's leg muscle is being watched very closly and it gets assesed by some machine that test its wear/tear and tissue tiredness before each game that barca plays. but they dont have that machine in argentina and are worried about him? heard anything on that?

Aussie Barça - I read the same article but I can add no more. They are always concerned about a possible injury to Messi, but I think it is more a case of the papars needing to fill up their pages than anything else. Messi seems to have come through the game with no problems.

Since Yaya Toure is highly regarded by fans and "knowledgable " coaches, why is he getting little playing time at Barça ? Is it possible that there is more than meets the eye with the situation ,ie: personal conflict between Yaya and Guardiola? Otherwise, Guardiola could NOT be so stupid to leave his best holding midfielder on the bench for no good reason, or could he ?!

I always thought that Yaya was the BEST signing of last season but sometimes things work in misterious ways. Let's hope that we don't lose Yaya. I agree with you about Keita. I am not impressed with him,so far. Anyway, I consider Yaya a KEY player , along with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta ,Eto'o and Alves. It is nice to see some youngsters like; Bojan, Perdito, Buchetts, Pique and Jeffern breaking through.

If Barça end up losing Yaya Toure, it is all Guardiola's fault !! Yaya barely played this year. The same is happening to Bojan. It is obvious that Guardiola's personnel handling skills leave much to be desired. He also declared that Eto'o was not needed and he wanted him out. He is fortunate that Eto'o decided to stay on. His continuous blind faith in Valdes, Marquez, Abidal, Henry and Gudjonssen is proof that something is quite askew with his thinking !!
