Keita Stars For Mali

Monday 23rd June by fcbnews_nic · 7 Comments

It was a good weekend for two of Barça's African players. On Saturday Samuel Eto'o scored both goals including a last minute winner in Cameroon's 2-1 victory over Tanzania, while yesterday Seydou Keita scored twice in Mali's 3-0 win over Sudan. Both Cameroon and Mali lead their respective qualifying groups for the 2010 World Cup.

Its funny with all this Euro 2008 stuff we forget about the other Barca players. Well done to Sameul Eto'o - I've said many times that we need Eto'o in a 4-3-3 - Henry and Messi or Bojan will not chase the defense which is needed in a 4-3-3 whereas Eto'o will. Keep him. Save the money from Adebayor, Arshavin, etc and just keep the people we have (except Ronnie and Deco).

This could be Pep's first mistake in my opinion. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Eto's footballing ability, unlike R10 and Deco, so keep the way. Part of managing a top club is dealing with personalities and egos. If Pep's answer is to sell everyone who has a "difficult" and volatile personality like Eto he may aswell sell half the squad. Im not having a go at Pep already, but I just think he was wrong to go public with his statement a while ago and he should think twice before selling one of the best strikers on the planet.

yeah, great! well done to eto'o! now, eto'o proved himself-the quality he have not the same as any other striker in the world.. i hope Pep will consider very well before decide to let Eto'o go.

Naem, the rumours persist. There is still a lot on Adebayor, the Brazilian player Anderson Hernanes, and of course since the game on Saturday the press can't stop talking about Arshavin (might just be wishful thinking though)

Just wondering if amid all this Euro stuff going on, did anyone happen to catch the U-17 Euro's a month ago? If so, any hot prospects you've seen? Cos I've only seen Spain's matches.
