Messi's Ten Best Goals (Plus Three More)

Well, yes. There is no proper football for two weeks and I'm left here twiddling my thumbs. The only news is the confirmation of Toure and Iniesta's injuries, but seeing as they are both said to be out for two weeks it is quite possible that they don't miss any games. Anyway, while there is not much going on El Mundo Deportivo have published a poll to vote on Messi's best ever goal. While it seems pretty obvious that the Goal against Getafe two years ago is by far the best it was fun to watch the ten goals. Follow this LINK to enjoy the ten goals. I also think they have missed out some of his better goals. What about THIS ONE versus Osasuna this season. Or this GOLAZO versus Lyon from a couple of weeks ago.Or how about his MASTERPIECE against Deportivo in January. There are plenty more, the two against Sevilla in December for example. Or have you got a link to any more of Messi's goals to keep us all entertained for a bit?

Messi seems to have a knack for scoring so many special goals. My favorite is the one against Getafe. It was so Maradonesque.

The thing with Messi is that he scores so many world class goals it is so difficult to come up with a top 10. I thought the goal he scored against Malaga is a contender because he was off balance, under pressure and wrong footed. There are very few players who are capable of scoring goals under those circumstances.

Its about 10 mins long and there is no particular order. Everybody will have their preference, but each one on its own can be considered a great goal. Being reminded of some of the goals he scored when he first started playing with the first team really puts into perspective how incredible he is. We really are lucky to be able to watch Messi play week in/week out for us. We must be the envy of every team.

I think it is easier to make a list of Messi's most ordinary goals. There are NOT a lot of them !!

HAHA...FCB-Holland....can you remember the last "ordinary" goal he scored? Like a simple tap in....

He has scored 30 goals so far this season and most of them have been spectacular.

I think you may have a point there. Messi touches the ball so many times and he does it so fast. When the defenders and goalkeepers try to react, it is already toolate: GOALAZO..GOALAZO..GOALAZO !!

Like some of you said, it's easier to compile Messi's 10 ordinary goals, but it's impossible to compile his 10 best goals..

Most of his goals are of the highest quality, but the best one is no doubt that masterpiece against Getafe...Plays like that make ppl football fans...and second is his brilliant chip against Mexico in Copa America...Everyone expected him to pass the ball, but he fooled everyone and chipped the ball into the net deftly...Those 2 goals are above all the other extraordinary goals he has scored IMO...

just edged past kluivert(one of my fav players)
cesar - 235 goals
kubala- 196
rivaldo - 130
mariano martin - 124
eto 123

safe to say kubala and cesar would be his benchmarks

Messi's goals are all excellent, and I agree with most that it is extremely difficult to choose Messi's top 10 goal, he just has so many, each with its own uniqueness...

Is Messi really the best player in the world? Man, he is great but I am not sure that he is "THE" best in the world. He can do amazing things but his game is somewhat limited...I mean, his right foot is an impediment, his aerial game is non-existant, and he is not very good playing as a center forward. So, I am not so convinced that he is the best player in the world.

Don't get me wrong, I love having him on our team because he makes shis teammates better but I would look somewhere else for the best player. I would refrain from suggesting names because that could get contentious.

As they say in my part of the world:"we have the right to our opinions".In my opinion, he is limited and does not meet all aspects of the complete player.
