Ronaldinho's brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, met representatives of AC Milan this afternoon in Barcelona's Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I. After the meeting De Assis travelled the short distance to Camp Nou for a meeting with Txiki Begiristain, Pep Guardiola and Barça's new director of football, Raul Sanllehi, to communicate Milan's offer. Ronaldinho was also present at this meeting.
According to reports Barça have given Ronaldinho 72 hours to decide on his future. If he doesn't sign for Milan or Manchester City in this time he will then start training with Barça under Pep Guardiola. All indications, however, are that Ronnie's days as a Barça player are coming to an end.
Well, goodbye Ronnie! Though I still hope he will change his mind and stay at Barca, I know it's utopia. I'm proud to have lived to see him live at Camp Neu. And he will be my favorite player of all times, no matter what! And the greatest football player ever! Thanks for everything Ronaldinho!
Atleast ronaldinho is yleaving wiv dignity if u join Milan cos bro if he joined city it'll be a fuckin disgrace!!! See ya in da uefa cup Ronnie in the rossoneri shirt or in da prem wearing dat light blue top!!!
An interesting point is that only Manchester City have formally put a bid for Ronaldinho. According to reports AC Milan have not done so with FCB, all the dialog to date having existed between Roberto de Assis and Milan representatives. This appears not to have changed even now, since this latest report states that Roberto de Assis is 'communicating' Milan's offer to Barcelona's representatives. What this suggests to me is that Milan are in the driver seat at the moment, and Ronaldinho is getting desperate. His only takers are Man City and that is not an attractive prospect for the limited work rate Brazilian. Italian calcio is much more his pace these days and AC Milan are prestigious, certainly more so than the Manchester club. Roberto de Assis is likely going to Barcelona to plead they lower their fee for Milan. Instead of Milan doing that. Directly. As in negotiating. It seems also that Barcelona have the legal high ground over all this, and somewhere in his head, Ronaldinho must know this. Lastly, it seems FCB would be far better capable of carrying dead weight in the form of an uncooperative Brazilian, than Ronaldinho can handle the lack of attention that would result from becoming a fifth wheel in Guardiola's plans. I'm not certain of this, but Ronnie has been riding the celebrity crest for some time albeit on his laurels more or less these last couple of years. If he views a signing with Man City or languishing in FCB as the road into football mediocrity, then a push to land a signing with AC Milan becomes paramount.
Expect him to land in Milan and refind his form. Would be the best outcome. Now, the situation would turn into nightmare if we sign Adebayor to replace Dinho.
Adebayor to replace Ronnie! hahaha what a joke!
First of all Adebayor is central forward, he never played in the same position as R10. He could never replace him. Actually no one could. I hope Laporta doesn't go to the end with this "hell of a plan". I'm really beginning to hate this guy, I never knew he's such an idiot! And Pequito please show more respect for Ronnie, I know he isn't what you expect of him now, but he still doesn't deserve you calling him names!
yea...just let him go..Barca is not in his future plan and he don't want to play with Messi anymore... Whatever it takes, i wish all the best for Ronnie and Barca!!! what a sad news for me
Edit:
Nic, as you said Ronaldinho has 72hours to decide his future, does that mean it is entirely up to Ronaldinho to decide, or does Barcelona have a say in deciding where he is to go?
Please stay!
I think Ronaldinho should get the hell out of Barca, barca don't need him and he don't need Barca, he is unhappy under the Laporta regime, and Laporta doesnot want him there, but Barca will always be there when Lapota leaves and when Ronnie leaves. Messi is now King of Barca he needs to prove himself and win a CL and also 2010 world cup. To prove his status as one of the elite, I love messi and i love Ronnie the both looked happy to me together but maybe i am wrong. Ronnie should go to Man City and prove he is Great, Marodona could go to any team in the world and carry it on his shoulder so i would love Ronnie to prove himself. It hurts knowing Christiano is getting all the praise now i LOVE YOU ALWAYS RONNIE
Ronnie should stay... just give him chance to improve and play for Brazil in olympic. Barca is strong enough to play the qualify for cahmpions league with Alex Hleb. Give Ronnie the chance to find his old joy. But if barca decide to let him go, i hope Hleb would able to replace Ronnie in the left side..if not, barca should buy SILVA
Why do u want him to stay? he wants out, all he has done in the past 2 years = getting paid 12 m euros for going awol on trainning sessions, partying, etc.
Hope he goes to City, Milan are offering half of what english are.
To the guy who asked if the brazilian controlled his future, yes, Ronaldinho will decide wether he leaves or not and where he will land.
Best option would be Man City who want to pay the going rate...
If Milan cant stump up the cash.. then they should be told F**K off.... Let Ronnie rot in the reserves.... F**k him too...
Or base the contract on appearances over the length of the contract and trophy's won.. therefore the more he plays the more they pay...!!! So if they buy a dud they pay for a dud and if they buy a player who returns to former glory they pay the full whack!!!
In my opinion da greatest playa dat Barca has had!!!! ....
Ever!!!!
Whatever Barca decide whether keep ronnie stay or let him go in the next few days, i think we should prepare from now a new fresh team without Ronnie because one day he'll leave and this is sure. i don't know what will happen tomorrow but it seems like Barca have a slim chance to keep Ronnie stay. so, Barca please spend more money to buy a new young and talented left forward to replace Ronnie.
I totally agree with Barca4Lyf, R10 is the best player that played for Barca. Ever! And anyone who is insulting Ronnie is not fair, he doesn't deserve it for giving so much to the club! Blame Rijkaard also, Laporta too, the rest of the team. After all, the players agreed that they're all responsible for failure during last 2 seasons. So why can't you also?
And I still hope that Ronnie stays although the chances for that are slimmer by the second. It's enough to change the coach to turn things around, you know. If he's the right one. I hope Guardiola is!
Reports say that Barca have agreed a 18.5 mil move for Ronaldinho to Milan. The player will get 6.5 mil per season there. Should be presented tomorrow or the day after as a Milan player.
if ronnie finally goes, hope we get silva...with that we should b ready for the new season.....they shouldnt sell etooo
ronnie....stilll d best
Go to milan's website - When you log on it Say RONALDINHO .. So long fat boy!!! looks like like we have got shot!! Cant understand the sense of loss for a player who for two years has done nothing but take the piss!!! in his time the best... last 2 years fat lazy and arrogant..
Good Riddance.
May he continue to be fat and lazy at Milan. Lock up you're daughters because Party boy is arriving.
It looks like the long awaited conclusion to Barca&Ronnie story has come to end. He appears to have signed for Milan after all. I am sad and happy at the same time. Sad cause I won't be able to see him in Barca shirt again and happy for him, cause I know he will become the best again, though not in my favorite club
. Good luck Ronnie and show to the world that you are still the best! He will surely need a lot of luck where he is going. I hope they don't break his leg or even worse, they are used to all kind of dirty plays in their "style"
of football in Italy. Good luck in future and again thanks for everything! I want also to thank God (don't know why really 'cause I'm an atheist) for being able to see live the greatest player that ever played this beautiful game!
To john and pablo and others who share their "opinion"- Ronnie's left Barca so you can gloat as much as you wish. But don't call him names, he didn't deserve it for what he brought to Barca, so pretty please with sugar on top.... SHUT THE F.... UP!
Ahem, Maradona played for Barca and he was way better than Ronaldinho, he was class for almost 10 years, unlike the brazilian, that only played good during 2 seasons.
If he regains his form and plays great for Milan i wouldnt care less, when Chelsea offered 90 million for him after winning the champions league I thought they should have sold him, pity they didnt, and now Barca will get less than 1/3 of that!
Liam, you are showing a huge lack of knowledge here. Maradona only played at Barca for 2 seasons and he didn't show as much as Ronnie did while at Barca. Maradona's best part of career was while at Napoli and in Argentina's national team. And he wasn't class for all these 10 years, he had his ups and downs, just like Ronnie did. He was fired from Barca because of the feud between him and president Nunez. It seems like Barca's presidents always fuck up things when great players are concerned. And concerning R10's peak, I believe it lasted for at least 3 yrs. He was great at his first season in Barca, too. But he didn't have support from the others. Did you notice that Rijkaard built the team around him in his second season at the helm! And, one more thing, only a complete idiot would sell Ronnie after he won CL with Barca. So much for your knowledge of football. I'm beginning to think you are a troll :-p
No, ur the one who is (a troll), never said he played 10 years at Barca! with that I meant he played for a long time at his best, wether it was in Barcelona, Argentina or Napoli, while Ronaldinho only showed his best during 2 seasons and a half and only at his club, with penta he sucked.
Diego not playing good for Barcelona (38 goals in 58 games).... what a laugh... look for videos in youtube... if he wasnt that good how come Maradona got an standing ovation at Bernabeu, U should look 4 his goal vs merengues and then, shut up =)... Also, theres no way u can compare that Barca squad to the one where Gaucho played, the last was WAY better.
Diego having up and downs... hahaha, u r killing me, he was fantastic for 10 years, even thoug Goiko got his leg in his first year@ Barcelona then.. he made Napoli Seria A champion all by himself twice!, he was calcios best striker in 1988 he won a UEFA cup.. all this in a team that was fighting for relegation when he landed there!... lmao, u really need to check ur data mate!
Now that time has passed and showed us what happened to Roonie after winning the CL, selling him for that kind of money back then would have been an amazing business, so, again, ur wrong, and clearly shows u r the one who lacks footie knowledge... this LOVE u got for Ronaldinho blinds you.
Well, Liam, first of all sorry about that troll thing, maybe I was out of line there. I wasn't trying to offend you in any way, but I just don't like anyone to speak ill about Ronnie. Yes, I do still LOVE the guy, from the moment I saw his moves, I adored him. Even now when he's at Milan, I will continue to support him. This doesn't mean I will support Milan, however. I am blaugrana fan as far as I can remember watching football. I never said Maradona didn't show much at Barca, I said he didn't show as much as Ronnie did. I didn't say anything about him not being great at Napoli and I agree about what you said about his time there. About those ups and downs I mentioned, it was more related to his personal life also. He had drug problems while he was at Barca and that's one of the reasons he was fired form the club. Probably the main reason. I know he also had an standing ovation (him, not the team) at Bernabeu just like Ronnie did (again HIM, NOT THE TEAM), but all in all Ronnie's time at Barca was far more productive (just look at the titles). Even Maradona him self would agree on that
And, one more thing: AND THIS IS ADDRESSED TO ANYONE WHO THINKS RONNIE SHOUD HAVE LEFT BARCA THE MOMENT THEY WON CHAMP LEAGUE.
Did anyone of you think what could have been if Rijkaard instead of Ronnie left at that moment. I'm sure Barca would've won at least one title during last 2 yrs!

Goodbye Diño. Thanks for three years in which you gave our club great satisfactions. I say 3 beacuase even though you did not have a good season in 2006-2007 at least you showed up to play and kept in reasonalbe shape. As for last season, well my wife always tells me that if I'm not going to say anything positive that I should just keep my mouth shut!
he's off to Milan! He doesn't want to play in England.
