Milito Could Miss 9 Months, Toure Out For 6-8 Weeks

Tuesday, 13 May 08, 07:57 PM · Comments (15)

Gabi Milito's knee injury was worse than initially thought and he could be out for as much as nine months. In today's operation surgeons needed to extract part of a tendon from his left leg and insert it into his right. This is terrible new for the player as injuries of this length can be career threatening. Right now I just hope he can make a full recovery. There was better news for Toure Yaya whose back operation was a complete success, doctors say he shouild be back to full fitness in six to eight weeks.

Whoa!

Id trade Hleb for Toure if Barca wanted I think Barca underestimate Toure sometimes he has saved us so many times.

Hleb is the dream for a striker though as he always creates many chances for the striker every game and if Arsenal didnt have that muppet Adebayor up front they would have scored so many (more) goals!!

Henry and Eto'o would thrive of him but I hope he stays at Arsenal because I like him :)

It takes one to know one, Sue. Tell Wenger to stay away from our youth players. It's not healthy for a grown man to like teenage boys so much.

Hey Nic, just a question. Last season I think, Real Madrid almost signed Milito and then just let go off him. I remember they said that there was something wrong with his fitness and I think it had something to do with the same injury he currently has. You feel the Barca medical staff failed to see this? Im not sure, but I do remember Real calling the deal off cos the medical staff said he was not completely fit. You think this had injury had anything to do from some time or was it something he picked while on a game?

was just going to point out as above. madrid saw a problem in his knee 4 seasons ago when they were going to get him straight from ARG. we took a gamble and now it looks its not paying off. 9 months is LONG. lets just hope isnt another woodgate

It's true that Madrid didn't sign Milito because of a medical but since then he has played regularly for five seasons, so whether it has anything to do with that or not I don't know, but there is definitely bad luck as well.

it prolly has to do with recent play. i doubt something spotted 5 seasons ago would only arise now.

anyways, whats up with toure and arsenal? i think its gonna be a big mistake to let him go. he's such an integral part of the team and no way a 'surplus' as some papers may have quoted. if any arsenal player were to come over it should be cesc!

cesc-xavi-iniesta = just like the national team and all made in la masia =)

Yaya for Hleb??? If we never had yaya we'd in the relegation zone!!! he's been covering the poor woeful defence all year with a back injury!!! Hleb is a good playa but not the Toure standard!!!
