Pharyngitis Hits Barça Dressing Room

Friday, 19 September 08, 01:36 PM · Comments (8)

Yesterday it was Victor Valdés who missed training, and this morning it was Rafa Marquez and Thierry Henry, all suffering from pharyngitis. It sounds bad, but in fact it's just a sore throat. Valdés was back in training today and Marquez was ok for the evening session today though Henry had not recovered and is now considered as doubtful for Sunday's game at Sporting Gijon. The main worry here is whether anyone else will go down tomorrow with the same bug.

There's been talk in the local papers this week about how little Bojan has played so far this season, especially as the departure of Ronaldinho and Giovani Dos Santos should mean there is less competition for places as only Hleb of the new signings can play as a forward. However, we need to remember that last season Eto'o was out for a long time,  in fact all the forwards had one problem or another. I'm sure Guardiola will use Bojan plenty as the season progresses.

It really is incredible that these players who make a ton of money cant play a futbol game because they have a soar throat. You gotta be kidding me! I really wanted to see Henry play in this game because i think he is starting to find his form.

I find it weird , I am sure in other lower leagues some players play with serious injuries why our players don't have the same passion and responsibility towards the team and the fans ???
about bojan , i was wondering why don[t pep use him to be messi partner , he could play the same role that augero does with messi in the Argentina national team .. right ?

Yeh, Bojan will get more playing time, he should start with Eto'o and Messi in front against Gijon.

well a throat infection can result in fever and severe weakness if aggravated so cut these guys some slack.. why risk it when we bojan to replace henry?? Besides Henry isnt in the best of form anyway.. About players playing with serious injuries in the lower leagues.. its mostly because they dont have squads as deep as ours. I dont think its about the commitment of the players here.. Henry's cannot be questioned at all, he's shown it before.
