Player Of The Month March 2009

I don't care if you have got pink stripey legs, I'm the Fcbnews player of the month!

Apologies for the lack of activity on the blog this week, there's so little going on this week with the break for meaningless international friendlies that I thought it was a good time for a mini-break to recharge my batteries for the intense nine weeks that we have in front of us. Just a quick post today to announce the Fcbnews Player of the Month for March 2009. It was a close call this month and any of four players could have won it, but in the end the award goes to Andres Iniesta for the second month going. He may not score the goals or in fact give as many assists as some other players but he has been a joy to watch and I believe it is no coincidence that we started winning again when he returned to the team. His pass for Dani Alves's goal against Malaga demonstrated what a class act he is. Leo Messi, Xavi Hernandez and Thierry Henry were all very close after some excellent performances this months and Gerard Pique earns fifth place for some solid games at the back. So, this month's top five is as folows:

Andres Iniesta
Leo Messi
Xavi Hernandez
Thierry Henry
Gerard Piqué

nic i agree completely with you.....it could have been any thing from 1-4 but i guess this is what i would've come up with!!
so lets just hope for another 2 months like this then we will have silverware and thats what it all comes down too

Yeah Iniesta has done really good, and well they are not meaningless friendlies, those are the world cup qualifiers and I think every player should go and represent their team

No argument there. Iniesta is definitely a key to Barça's success . That was evident when he got injured. The level of the team dipped and when he came back, Barça got back on track. I think that his absence from Spain's team yesterday against Turkey was a factor in Spain's average display. His runs and creativity on the left flank were sorely missed. We hope he comes back soon for the next grueling two month stretch !!

Iniesta is the best!!!
he's make the team tick and play beautifully. he has a great impact on the team and the way they play. We missed him when he was injured, but with him fit, there's no stopping us..

Many non Culés, don't think so, but to us Culés we rate him very highly and his play is influential and critical to the success of the team

wow, Iniesta is really that fulcrum that keeps Barcelona going isn't he?? (well along with messi). This guy is the only one I feel is the most talented and successful yet humble players in the world.
On another note... sorry, I always said that barcelona would pick up and thats exactly what happened.
