Polls Are Back

Sunday, 05 October 08, 03:07 AM · Comments (20)

Guardiola confuses Alves

Yes, I know it's been a while, but finally we have things sorted to begin putting regular polls on the blog again. The first poll is on how well you think Pep Guardiola has done as coach so far this season. Please don't rate him just on yesterday's performance or on his dress sense. Has he the tactical nous we need, the motivational skills or the ability to read a game and make the right substitutions? You be the judge, click on one of the answers in the sidebar and then click the button in the bottom right hand corner to cast your vote.

hey nic, i dont think teh poll is working. dont see it anywhere. im very happy with pep, it just feels right seeing him on teh bench. one critique is just the scarce use of yaya toure. im just so scared that we lose him

I would like to reserve judgement and see how he does against Madrid, Villa Real , Sevilla and Valencia especially away from home !!

so far, so good.

of recent, a bit of luck quite often actualy...but thats what all the winning teams ultimately do have.

Aussie_barca...where in Aust are you? I'm in Adelaide.

Pep....so far pretty good. I like the fact he isn't afraid to dabble and mix things up...i.e...not a yes man.

Peps done decent by my count. He seems to of installed a more seige mentality in the squad. No game is over untill the whistle is gone, NO ONE is undroppable and so far Henry, Abidal, Eto, Toure, Marquez have all responded positively to being dropped for one reason for another which shows that the dressing room and all the ego's respect Pep which is very important.

Lets hope Barca are either neck and neck with the dogs of Madrid or infront when I visit Barca in december for El-Classico!! Hopefully I will see some of you there =D

Cast my vote, and my own comments on Guardiola's progress with the team were posted in my blog a day or so ago. Suffice to say I think Pep is doing well.

thx . Barca-Rotterdam :D :D :D

well , i voted him as "very good" so far as we have seen too little matches for the "excellent" rating . The good thing that pep eventually found the best XI but in the bad side we r sitting good players on the bench for too long which might cause the exit of one of them and yes i am talking about Yaya Toure

Hey FCB88

I just saw the game and I thought Espanyol should have won...check out my preview blog and read the outlook for Ream Madrid. They won't accomplish "jack" this year!

Pep is a genius and that is the essence of understatement.

His decisions are bold and gutsy but not reckless

He has the vision to make substitutions that have actually affected the game ( almost all very positive)

Cruiff has stated barca is playing one of their best football in ages under pep

He is not treating his players like a friend and setting the tone of discipline between a coach and his players unlike Rijkaard. Ofcourse it is going to be difficult for players to adjust their approach towards pep especially considering the fact he is much younger than rijkaard and almost in the same age group as them.

Nonetheless he has the attitude and demeanour of a determined champion.

Diatus:
I agree with you about the Evil Empire !! I think Villa Real is a legitimate club to contest for the title. Madrid play ugly football and grind it out as usual and they need all the help of their friends in high places and those with the whistles ! Barring injury to Messi or Eto' o , Barca could be the club to beat !!

i have not got any impressive result from pep , barca has always been a team that play great football , the problem of barca still remains unsolve ( poor defences including the keeper),this is barca problem and even pep as not solve it yet only time will tell.
