Readers Vote Eto'o Best Striker In The World

Eto'o bangs in another against Athletic Bilbao

Ok, this is a Barça blog so there is bound to be a bit of bias, but I really don't believe there is a better goalscorer in the world today than Samuel Eto'o. The readers of this blog agree with 57% voting for Eto'o. In second place with 13% is Ruud Van Nistlerooy, Real Madrid are going to miss him in what remains of the season. Third place for Fernando Torres followed by David Villa and Karim Benzema. There were also votes for Thierry Henry and Leo Messi as well as for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Del Piero, Ameobi, Carew, Agbonlahor, Berbatov, Luca Toni, Raul, Yakubu and Zeka.

The next vote is for who deserves this year's Ballon d'Or. The big favourites are Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi, but perhaps you prefer Torres or Casillas or Xavi.... Please send your votes.

yes correct it is a barca blog and i am a barca fan but to be honest in football there doesnt come close to a finisher than van nistelrooy this guy jus scores goals, wether he be in england, germany, spain any where he just doesn't miss, and if i am not mistaken since he arrived in spain he scored against us in a classico

Of course this blog would vote for Eto esoecially with he great goal scoring record at the minute.

However, in terms of finishing van Nistelrooy is way ahead of Eto'o. Maybe outside the box he is weak compared to Eto'o but as a CF van Nistelrooy is just better. And I say that through gritted teeth as I hate him to bits =D

With all things considered, I would rather have Eto'o over Van Nistelrooy any day. Eto'o is technically a much better player and just as effective finisher . And speaking of Nistelrooy, I would NOT be surprised if this injury signals the end of his career. Afterall, he is 32 . Even if he comes back after a year , a 33 years old with two major knee surgeries should just call it a day . Remember the " real " Ronaldo ? I will only miss Nistelrooy as a Holland player but NOT as a player of the Evil Empire !!

"Eto'o is technically a much better player and just as effective finisher"

Thats a bit crazy to say blaugranaboy :D Eto misses maybe 3 in 20 chances whereas v.Nistelrooy would miss 1 in 20 in my opinion. However of course Eto is more valuable as he is faster, technically better and younger. In the air is Eto's big weakness. Like Henry in his prime, he is fantasic on the ground but equally as bad in the air.

Forget that anyway, Madrid is loooooooooosing 1-0!!

Come on Barca!! Even if Madrid come back and draw, the team have to take advangtage tomorrow even if they are away from home without one their stars (Iniesta).

LOOOL!! One minute after I say that Raul misses the chance of all chances =D

Mistake back pass, Raul one on one, tries to nut meg the keep but he read it and saved!! Maybe Madrid's luck is changing and they aint going to get any more lucky wins!

This is definitely the end for Schuster . Let the panic at Madrid officially begin !! There is no comparison between Eto'o and Henry . Henry was NEVER fantastic in any aspect of the game of football as we know it . Henry always relied on his SPEED & STRENGTH . When he got older he got slower and not as strong so there was NOTHING else to fall back on !!

Eto'o is definately the best striker, he is on hot form. Eto'o over van Nistelroy any day. Eto'o is quicker and younger...

Ameobi, seriously is he even alive
