It was definitely a great win . I think both Etoó and Messi were booked for their celebrations mainly for taking their shirts off . They should be more careful of not overdoing it . The last thing Barça need is a suspension to either player !!

revenge is sweet

@UTalkin2me

trust me wen you score a winning goal in a big game like that, the first thing in your mind is to take your shirt off,

I'm still gloating... =D

this was a win and will serve to further spur on the players to win their remaining games and get closer to the 3 titles that we're chasing.

Nic, hopefully this year we can celebrate the treble on this blog, come May. this will be the first trophies that the blog will celebrate with the club. the only other trophy to be celebrated was the European Championship. Woo

blaugrana namibia:
I definitely don't mind such celebrations in La Liga defining title game or the CL final !! I have watched most of the big European clubs in action . Most of them are struggling and none of them come close to Barça's form . I agree with Mike M. that winning the triple is not an unlikely possibility this year . One catch: no major injuries to either Messi or Eto'o !!

easy easy we haven't won anything yet, yes we are the top form team but there are some big guns out there too who can switch their game on, but this year i don't mind NOT winning the UCL trophy, just that la liga title,

BTW i hear messi wears shine pads on the front and back now damn what a rep :P

As long as the double shin pads protect Messi from being injured by reckless and disgraceful fouls, I'll be happy. Hopefully they won't affect his performances, Double shin pads, that must feels weird to run around in.

Great pics, Cannavaro leaping in the air to clear Messi's goal - and he gets injured, haha classic stuff.

These pics will definitely put a huge smile on any fan's face

After watching that pic of the second goal, I have been wondering whats funnier.......Messi having the audacity to chip the ball just over Casillas' head from just under 10 yards out and making one of the best goalies in the world look like a total fool as Casillas was left waving his arm trying to bat away a bothersome flea..............or Cannavaro trying very hard to stop that inevitable goal from happening and just slamming into the post?

Dear friends lets focus on the next El Clasico believe me Barca vs Villarreal won't be that way an easy game and i pray for Iniesta's come back.isn't it incredibly to see the either of the big Clubs including Madrid no one netted Barca,Valencia,Sevilla and Madrid!!!!!! then this equation Villarreal won't be able to calculate it coz it isn't good at maths than the above!!!!! give your comments pliz.

Hey Guys, Here's my perediction for RM's season in my La Liga preview.Check it out on my profile:
"Real Madrid will have to be miracle makers this season to win la Liga. The team neither strengthened nor consolidated. In fact, it has lost steam with the endless saga of Cristiano Ronaldo and the unintended consequence of really upsetting the unbelievable talent that is Robinho, who by the way saved their title ambitions last year with his 2 amazing goals against Recreativo Huelva. There was a failure of leadership at the Santiago Bernabeu during the summer and the consequences of this move will be thoroughly felt this season. We do not foresee Raul scoring 18 goals this year. Ruud Van Nistleroy will have to play the entire season for the team to even earn a spot in Europe. Rafael Van Der Vaart has been a great addition but their current formula has its limitations. Arjen Robben has yelled at enough referees and will be kept on a very short leash. As tested during the first leg of the Supercopa at the Mestalla in Valencia, this squad’s defense tottered under constant assault from Villa, Mata and Silva. Fabio Cannavaro’s absence is truly hurting this team’s ability to control the defensive conversation. Iker Casillas is still his usual amazing self but that will not be enough to save this squad from what at this point is unavoidable: a difficult campaign at home and an challenging European tour."

I got most teams right and some wrong but the season is still long. Happy reading!!!

@KABANDA

I am not too worried about Villareal after seeing their outing against Sevilla last night. Their midfield is having issues. Pelligrini has deviated a little from his traditional philosophy of flooding the midfield and controlling play from there. The whole team has tilted towards the front line but unfortunately they do not have and in-form stricker at this time to really cause us trouble. Jozy Altidore is slow and really unskilled on the ball, Guille Franco is uninspired as a footballer, Rossi is no leading man, Maxi rodriguez can be a threat but is too immature to stand up to Puyol or Pique, Nihat is out injured and LLorente has a red card and will be suspended. In Midfield, Senna might have played too many games in 2008 thus is suffering an alarming dip in form at the moment, Pires is still playing well but always misses the link up with Ibagaza going forward.In defense, their backs tend to move forward for the goal which against Barcelona will leave them wide open for Messi and Henry to do damage. This is the team that didn't win their copa del fixture agains a segunda B team, lost to Valladolid, almost lost to Atletico Madrid, almost lost to Getafe and could have been oblitarated by Sevilla. No, I am worried about this one. Again, this is football and everything is possible but on this one, I would be surprised not to walk away with all 3 points.

I have to say before seeing them play Sevilla I was worried about Villareal, but after watching them struggle against a side we dominated away from home.....well I couldnt agree more dith Diatus now. Obviously anything can happen in this wonderfull sport and thats why we love it so much but we really should win this game. If we can win this game withour conceding a goal then this team would have exceeded all my expectations so far. To score so many goals against the top teams and not concede would be quite an accomplishment!!

i still think villareal will give us a tough time, we've bn havin probs with dem of recent

abt madrid, most realists knows madrid despite their 2 league wins were not world beaters as can be proven with their champions league performances, barca was jst on d low and spain was generally weak as a result

Iniesta coming back is definitely good news for Barça fans but bad news for Henry who will be back to his familiar role as a substitute . I hope that some people would stop entertaining the idea of using Henry as CF instead of Eto'o . It will never happen !!

It was hard to beat Real Madrid FC although they say Barcelona is a favourite team to win in this El Clasico. That's why both Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi take off their shirt when they scored. It was a greatest moment ever in this year. Viva La Barca!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

29. layibiyi Wrote: | 22.54CET | Dec 16, 2008

it dosent mean henry goes on the bench, iniesta is first and foremost a midfielder so he can slot back into his midfield role though it is clear a little guardiola likes someone with physical presence also alongside xavi besides the def mid

Matias Fernandez is a gun player. We need to watch him closely. Barca should win it 3-1 though.
