Toure Yaya has today finished with two weeks of speculation over his future by declaring he is staying at the club. Toure stated that he is very happy in Barcelona and his family is too. "I am happy to play here because my objective is to be in a big club and Barcelona is just that. I don't want to leave, I'm very happy at this club and to play in this shirt is great."
Reports had claimed Toure could be on his way out and he was linked to Juventus, Liverpool and Arsenal. However, most of these stories surfaced in the international break when the press always prints any old rubbish since without any Barça games to preview or report on, they usually have a problem to fill their pages. It was claimed that Toure was unhappy because he wasn't a first team regular this season after the signing of Seydou Keita and the emergence of Sergio Busquets. Toure, however, defended Pep Guardiola's use of rotations. "I believe the boss is doing his job well. There are many players here of a very high level. We are a team with a very high level and we play very good football. There are very young players with a great value such as Bojan or Busquets. We have a team with an extremely high standard and we are capable of winning all the competions." Toure has started the last two matches for Barça.
Let's hope that puts an end to all the chit-chat.
I'm watching a Uefa Cup match between AC Milan and Heerenveen. Ronaldinho came on as a sub in the last 15 minutes and he barely touched the ball. It is really sad to see. He has absolutely nothing left. He is reduced to an average passer. Barça definitely pulled a fast one on Milan with that deal !!
this is great news...to be honest, i was getting very worried. this makes me very happy
on ronaldinho, isnt he Milan's top scorer right now? dont know if thats sad for Milan or if he isnt playing that bad after all...
ronaldinho is not doing bad at all even though his style of football has definitely changed
a very important point to note about toure is that he has been involved in the last 2 matches which we just happen to keep clean sheets..,,that says something
On Ronaldinho:
My point is that he is in decline. He may score a goal now and then or make a good pass once in a while but he is NOT the player he was when he played for Barça. His trademark flashy moves are now a thing of the past. He was one of my favourite players but time seems to have passed him by. If he were still a Barça player , I doubt if he would have been able to get much playing time , and definitely not as a starter. I wish he would prove me wrong and show us the true Ronaldinho that we all knew and loved.
My prediction on Ronaldinho is that he will do ok for four or five months at Milan and then his form will drop again.
Really pissed I missed the Basle game, dam you internet!!
Good to hear Toure wants to stay but I wouldnt be suprised at all if he left to Arsenal to be honest either in January or the summer as Pep seems to have found his favourite B-team pet in Busquets. Would be a shame to lose him as as blaugrana said Iniesta and Xavi need to feel able to get forward without having to worry about covering our pathetic excuse for a defence.
As for Ronnie, leave him be. He was the best, we all know he isnt now, but he doesnt play for Barca now. Good luck to him still.
Good to see Tore wanting to stay, he really is the best defensive midfielder...
And seeing though Barca kept 2 cleansheets when he started does indeed say something about his ability...
He is the one that cleans up the midfield and destroys any incoming attacks...
if he's happy then i'm happy.
Ronaldinho was who he was but now he is what he is and I don't think he'll regain his Barca form.
Toure does actually make a really gd contribution in the midfield and its gd 2 hav a strong and fit player like him in the Barca formation...And for Ronaldinho. he was a legend in Barca but his move was necessairy cuz if he just sits around in Barca not playing anything it's a better choice 2 go 2 a club were he can actually play, and what he's doin' right now is spectacular...one of a kind. 10R

this story just plain old delighted me. its professional of him to put the rumors to rest. thank the lord!! yaya is so class and will be a pillar in the future of any success. messi, xavi, iniesta can provide all the magic they want, but without something behind them cleaning the mess and putting in he tackles we get nowhere. plus he does his job with style.
i thought he and guardiola looked friendly when he was subbed off last night so already then i thought the rumors were just that. so happy its confirmed. and doesnt look like he pulled any of that "im so happy, but u never know" crap, ohterwise known as the CR speciality.
That is very good news indeed !!
