Toure Should Take The Operation

Friday, 21 March 08, 07:14 PM · Comments (5)

While Toure Yaya's attitude and commitment are commendable, I really feel it is time for him to take the operation on his slipped disk. Toure says that apart from a few sharp momentary pains he is capable of playing on with the help of injections but his performances in the last two games are below the high standards he was showing before the injury.

If Toure had the operation now it is thought he would be out for one month which would mean he could be back in time for a theoretical Champions League semi final. While Schalke will be no pushover, I believe it is better to have Toure at 100% even if it is only for the last few games than to have him struggle on in his present condition. If Marquez cannot play either we will just have to put Iniesta in Toure's position. If Barça are going to have a chance against the likes of Manchester United we will need as many fully fit players as possible.

I agree with you Nic. Although I admire his attitude, he should get this over with now. We need him at his best.

he should better take the operation to get ready for a next season, this season looks screwed...one more player out won't make a difference....wish him the best

yes, please take the operation, to see him in pain is hard to watch, and frankly (no pun intended) nobody on this team is matching his committment.... Take the operation so no further damage is done.....

I also agree. Better that he goes ahead and has the operation. I'm not sure if he is further aggrivating the condition by playing with Cortisone injections. He is a great player and I too hate to see him unable to play at his best.
