Vote No To Vote Of No Confidence

Thursday, 26 June 08, 07:26 PM · Comments (8)

The president of the electoral table for the vote of no confidence, David Moner, today presented the voting paper with the question formula for the members to vote. The official Barça page hasn't translated them yet so here is my translation:

Yes to the vote of no confidence presented by the members Oriol Giralt and Christian Castellvi against the board of directors. This affirmative vote would mean the cessation of the entire board of directors which would lead to new presidential elections being held.

No to the vote of no confidence presented by the members Oriol Giralt and Christian Castellvi against the board of directors. this negative vote would mean the continuation of the board of directors until the conclusion of its mandate.

Tomorrow Sandro Rossell is expected to give a press conference where he expected to declare his intention of standing in the next elections whether they are in 2008 or 2010. Tomorrow I will write more on Rossell and why he fell out with Joan Laporta, and why all members should vote no to the vote of no confidence.

Nic, there is nothing for you to explain.

If Barca fans are mad enough to folliw this ludacris action through and ouest Laporta, then I think Barca are in for a few years in Madrid's shadow.

Say if Rossell wins the vote, he will win it by promising to almost let the fans rule the club. He will buy new players and risk Barca's financial stability by trying to sign a huge name just to appease the fans. He is an idiot just for challenging the Barca president whilst the transfer window is open and causing such panick in the Barcelona heirarchy.

What do you reckon the chances of him succeding are anyway guys?

i hope Laporta and the board of directors will remain in position,
they just did many great things for barcelona and it fans.
i think football is not everything and Laporta and the board doing nothing wrong when helping many people especially in Africa finding for a better life. Barcelona has a great image with its role helping UNICEF give educations for refugees and childrens in Africa. Also Barcelona has a clean image all over the world with its motto_MES QUE EN CLUB, more than just a club-
our concern is about the poor season in the last 2 years but, Laporta has a clear idea doing a major overhaul to find new players for the new Barca's squad next season. Let us give them one more chance to change everything into a better condition. there is another hope- new coach able to help Barca achive something in the new season. Well, it is just my opinion

I know these are strong words, but I think this motion is ridiculous! Voting out Laporta now ensures a hold on all transfers for the rest of this summer--which means Barca will be f*cked for the next season. You want Diego? Or Arshavin? Or Van der Vaart? Or Villa? TOO BAD, b/c you can't transfer until September at least. Sick of Olegeur? Suck it up, because he'll be staying with us!

Titi186 is right; the club will not recover for years if Laporta is deposed. And there will only be a group of Catalan socios with no idea how to run a club or an organization to blame for it. This is an illness with the people of Barcelona--all they know how to do is complain!

This move is senseless, imo the current board has done a great job, and people are upset for just 2 bad years, come on. the board has realised their mistake and are busy taking positive steps in correcting them...

this vote also can't of come at a worse time, we are currently in a critical phase of rebuilding the squad for next season and if a new board is instated, everything will be disrupted.

If Sandro Rossell does (hopefully not) become the next president, then he'll be exactly like Calderon, signing players who we don't need and plunging us into a crisis.

i totally agree with you Nic. The motion does no good for the club!

Recall what state Barsa was in when Laporta took over and what he has done thus far!?

I hope this motion fails cos what barcelona needs now is stability and laporta's continuing reign is the best guarantee.

i think laporta has done a relatively good job, not perfect, but he's stabilised the club, brought in some top quality players and most importantly he's kept on the straight and narrow in terms of the unicef sponsorship, unesco deals, political and cultural ideals, etc etc, which for me is very very important!!! the pride in the colours, the badge, the anthem, the flag, its all down to this ideal of something else above and beyond football and i think laporta has encouraged this side of things further at the club which is great...as for the vote of no confidence i think the club has an immature streak and cannot cope with the adult world, they say one thing and are seen doing another, they say a players injured, he's quite visibly not, they say a managers safe and they're plotting behind the scenes, this may be ok for the chelsea's and liverpool's of this world but we, sorry i, expect better of barca!!! but its gone on for a long long time now, they were up to the same old tricks when cruyff was in charge and so i dont think it is laporta's doing, at least not on his own, he needs to get stronger and grow up, less photo ops, more honesty, more dignity in the dealings with players, press and coaching staff, to kick them out now would be a disaster and who knows what could follow from there...i think he should complete his tenure and then we can evaluate from there, as things are, although are dealings are being slowed down by all of this, i do actually have a great excited gut feeling for next season - pep, and the new signings, i think will push us on and up and i think the shock of having qualify for the champions league etc etc, will wake a few people up...or at least it should!!!
