Whilst Puyol is a top defender how he got in is anyone's guess.

My team would be - remembering that it was for all of LAST season only:

Casillas, Alves, Terry, Ferdinand, Clichy, Messi, Cesc, Kaka, Xavi, Ronaldo, Torres,

Anyone who watched Arsenal's seasons knows how consistently excellent Clichy was Alves at Sevilla was much better then the one Barca bought.

No way should either Puyol of Ramos displace somone like Terry who almost won the Premier League and Champions League. Kaka was playing no where near his best consistently but just would scrape in as not for him AC Milan wouldnt be playing in even the UEFA cup and Gerrard was not consistently good enough to desplace Xavi.

The reason puyol made the list was because he was the most consistent player (besides iniesta ofcourse) in an otherwise inconsistent team last season.

Also, spain only conceding one goal ( which was really xabi alonso's mistake) when he was on the field during euro 08 has got to count for something.

i dont have many issues with the list at all, its actually pretty spot on. its silly to have rio as a left back but i can appreciate what they wanted to do. and titi u are correct on clichy, he is fantastic. however, id say evra was as good if not a bit better. those two are awesome.

thought right now abidal isnt looking bad at all (in fact he is looking good). but his attackign will never match either of those.

in any case france has worldclass left backs for at least a decade.

you know barcelona dominates when the majority on the fifpro best XI list is blaugrana. Sure real and liverpool have two each but pfft we have three! AHA!

I remember them making the shortlist for fifa player of the year last year and there were 7 barca players on the list. Again the majority!

Barcelona is too good

To be honest blaugranaboy, when Domenech plays Abidal over Clichy and Evra that idiot should have his knee caps broken let alone get sacked. Granted Abidal plays okay now but last year he was horrible and France lacked any kind of width at the Euros especially with Ribery injured.

Evra is probably better if only defensively slighty but Clichy last year was immense - he got Man of the Match against Man United away despite Arsenal losing 2-1 which says it all for me.

Regarding what shahensah said about Puyol, fair point he was consistent at Barca but the FifPro people must understand that its the best XI in the world, not a "who was the best in Barca list", he was not upto Terry and Ferdidand and Vidic's standard last year which sometimes annoys me as the list becomes tainted when the selection has CB's in left back slots. Pick 2 CB's - the best 2 - not find a 3rd slot becuase it seems someone is good and leave out a left back.

lmao too true blaugrana_namibia

also we should note that barcelona has provided a defender, a midfielder and a forward. A player for all thirds of the field. Thats what you call a complete contribution.

Man if only valdes made the goalie's list then I could gloat even more haha but sadly casillas is too good.

If Valdes made the FifaPro top 100 I would be suprised lol. Dont let the last few games fool you, he's still going to cost us points this year :?

The only list that Valdes would ever hope to make should be entitled " FIFA Top 100 Mediocre Goalkeepers " !!

@titi,
Terry almst won d ucl n premiership while ramos won d league n d euros
Also, I rink evra's better than clichy n vidic's better than Ferdinand. Kaka was injured a lot last season, shouldn't b there at all

Yeah but ramos played RB for Spain? Agreed that he won those things but playing as a right back. If they pick Ramos as RB then fair enough as he was the best RB with Alves but if they put him as an extra CB then thats not fair. The list should have 2 CB's not 3-4 just because they were very good. One right and left back, 2 CB's at least. Anyway lets forget him he's a Real M*drid player so screw him.

As for Kaka he was injured alot yet scored 15 goals so thats proof of how good he was when he played but of course this list as its made by usually stupid people will include him because of his past not his present standing in world-football.

I am NOT really impressed with Ramos at all. He gets selected for Spain on a regular basis, but if you break down his game there is not much to write home about. He can not dribble at all. His defence is too soft. He likes to attack but lacks the necessary talent and skills. Hype does not a great player make !!
