A goal from Samuel Eto'o in the 89th minute earned Barça an undeserved 1-1 draw in Riazor tonight. Our Champions League hangover was clear for all to see and we lacked the intensity that has played a big part to our successes this season. Eto'o's goal took our season's total in the league to 105 but it wasn't quite enough to beat Real Madrid's record of 107. However, for Eto'o it was his 30th league goal which was not enough to win this year's pichichi award but he is the first player to score thirty league goals in a season for Barça since Ronaldo scored 34 in the 1996/7 season.
The game was also a chance to see the team in next season's away strip, and I have to say I was less than...

This was quite simply the best. This was better than beating Sampdoria 1-0 at Wembley in 1992. This was better than beating Arsenal three years ago in Paris. This was beating the current champions, the team that have won the English Premier League for the last three seasons. This was beating the great Manchester United, not with a late winner like against Sampdoria and Arsenal, but by two clear goals, a fantastic display that left the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo so frustrated that he had to...

The fiesta at Camp Nou this evening to celebrate our fantastic season was spoilt today, not so much by the 0-1 defeat to Osasuna, but more so by the absurd decision by referee Rubinos Perez to send off 17-year-old debutant Marc Muniesa for foul that was never worthy of anything more than a yellow card. Pep Guardiola was also sent off for protesting the decision and Camp Nou demonstrated with one of the biggest protests against a referee seen in years. The lack of a goal makes our task of beating Madrid's 107 goals in a season more complicated and Samuel Eto'o hasseen Diego Forlan overtake him tonight in the battle for the individual pichichi top scorer's award.
With the Champions League final...

Samuel Eto'o missed a penalty with the last kick of the game which meant that Barça 2-1 lost tonight at Mallorca. Having won the league last night Pep Guardiola fielded a weakened team, so perhaps a defeat was to be expected. However, Barça had plenty of chances to win the game, nearly all of them for Eto'o, but it was not the Cameroonian's day. He took his first chance well to put Barça ahead after ten minutes but second half goals from Arengo and Cleber Santana turned the game in Mallorca's favour.
As neither team had anything to play for it was to be expected that the intensity of the game was not high. Barça seemed concerned with simply trying to help Eto'o,...

Only Manchester United stand in the way of a historic treble for Football Club Barcelona. Despite going a goal down in the ninth minute, Barça hit back through Toure Yaya and then blew Athletic away with three second half goals in the space of ten minutes. It is three years since we last won a trophy, it is the first that we can celebrate on this blog on the second anniversary of its beginning. May it be the first of many.
Barça started the game slowly, with Atletic showing more aggression and winning the midfield battle. In the 8th minute a build up on the right ended with Javi Martinez whipping in a shot that Pinto did well to tip round the post. From the corner Toquero rose at the far post...

Football Club Barcelona will have to wait another week to be crowned champions of La Liga. With the fireworks and cava prepared for the celebrations, Joseba Llorente equalized for Villarreal in the 92nd minute to spoil the party which had seemed certain with just 13 minutes to go when Barça were leading 3-1, but then Eric Abidal gave away a penalty and was sent off which gave Villarreal the chance for their comeback. However, the worst news from today is that Andres Iniesta ended the game with a torn muscle and he will have to wait until tomorrow to find out the seriousness of the injury, and for now we will have to pray he is ok for the Champions League final on May...

Andres Iniesta will go down in Football Club Barcelona's history. Andres Iniesta tonight made Catalunya rock. In the 93rd minute, with Barça's first shot on goal in the entire game Andres Iniesta scored a goal to book a place in the Champions League Final in Rome on May 27 against Manchester United. With the team down to ten men due to the sending off of Eric Abidal in the 66th minute the game was looking lost, but Barça kept trying to go forward and finally got the break we had all been waiting for.
Chelsea will no doubt feel robbed. A clear handball from Gerard Piqué in the 82nd minute could well have ended our dream but the referee waved play on. To rub salt in the wound in the 95th minute Ballack volleyed against Samuel Eto'o's...

Football Club Barcelona made history tonight destroying Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. Despite an early Madrid goal from Gonzalo Higuain, Barça controlled the game from start to finish and with a seven point lead now with just four games to go it is almost impossible now that Barça will not end the season as champions of La Liga. Leo Messi and Thierry Henry both scored twice and centre backs Carles Puyol and Gerard Piqué chipped in with a goal apiece, but it was the midfield performance of Xavi, Iniesta and Toure Yaya that really made the difference between the two teams. Real Madrid coach Juande Ramos claimed before the match that he had a "plan anti-Barça", but it didn't matter how...

For the second season running an English team came to Camp Nou for a Champions League semi-final and managed to frustrate us completely. Chelsea rarely looked to attack but they defended well and generally limited Barça to shots from outside the area which rarely troubled Petr Cech. Barça's substitutes Bojan Krkic and Alexandr Hleb both had chances to score a vital goal near the end but without luck. The tie will now be decided at Stamford Bridge where Barça will have to make do without Carles Puyol who will be suspended and Rafa Marquez who looks like missing the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Chelsea started the game well and even put a good move together after...

A goal from Thierry Henry five minutes from the end earned Barça a point tonight in Mestalla which could turn out to be vital in our quest to win our 19th La Liga title. Leo Messi gave us an early lead but after 675 minutes without conceding a goal in the league we conceded twice in three minutes just before half time and we came close to paying dearly for this lapsus.
Pep Guardiola made three changes to the team that hammered Sevilla 4-0 at Camp Nou on Wednesday. Carles Puyol, Sergio Busquets and Leo Messi came in for Rafa Marquez, Toure Yaya and Thierry Henry. The three who were left out can content themselves with the thought that they will almost definitely be in the starting line-up against Chelsea...
