For the second season running an English team came to Camp Nou for a Champions League semi-final and managed to frustrate us completely. Chelsea rarely looked to attack but they defended well and generally limited Barça to shots from outside the area which rarely troubled Petr Cech. Barça's substitutes Bojan Krkic and Alexandr Hleb both had chances to score a vital goal near the end but without luck. The tie will now be decided at Stamford Bridge where Barça will have to make do without Carles Puyol who will be suspended and Rafa Marquez who looks like missing the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Chelsea started the game well and even put a good move together after...

A goal from Thierry Henry five minutes from the end earned Barça a point tonight in Mestalla which could turn out to be vital in our quest to win our 19th La Liga title. Leo Messi gave us an early lead but after 675 minutes without conceding a goal in the league we conceded twice in three minutes just before half time and we came close to paying dearly for this lapsus.
Pep Guardiola made three changes to the team that hammered Sevilla 4-0 at Camp Nou on Wednesday. Carles Puyol, Sergio Busquets and Leo Messi came in for Rafa Marquez, Toure Yaya and Thierry Henry. The three who were left out can content themselves with the thought that they will almost definitely be in the starting line-up against Chelsea...

Barça gave us yet another exhibition of football tonight, steamrollering third-placed Sevilla with four goals in 54 minutes to win 4-0. Those who believe that Barça depend on Leo Messi were shown tonight that we have another player who is pushing for the crown of the world's best player. Andres Iniesta played in Messi's position in attack and gave a magnificent display, scoring one and setting up the other three goals, earning himself an ovation from the Camp Nou crowd when he was substituted after 60 minutes.
There were three changes to the team that won 0-1 at Getafe,

A goal from Leo Messi after 19 minutes was enough to earn Barça a 0-1 win over Getafe tonight to take us just a little bit closer to our 19th La Liga title. The three points are vital but the effort we had to put in was greater than it should have been but for some detrimental refereeing decisions especially in the first half. Pep Guardiola chose to go with more or less his strongest team with only Toure Yaya being rested in favour of Sergio Busquets, Rafa Marquez came back into the middle of defence with Carles Puyol moving to left back in place of Eric Abidal, while Thierry Henry returned to the team with Andres Iniesta moving back to midfield in place of Tuesday's goalscorer Seydou Keita.
After just five minutes...

Barça will face Chelsea in the semi final of the Champions League after a goal from Seydou Keita earned us a 1-1 against Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena stadium. Franck Ribery put the German team in front just after the break but they never looked like overcoming the four goal deficit from the first leg. The negative side was yellow cards for Dani Alves and Carles Puyol who now both have two yellow cards along with Sergio Busquets and these three players run the risk of missing the second leg with Chelsea if they are booked at Camp Nou on April 28.
There were just two changes to the team that beat Bayern 4-0 at Camp Nou last week, Eric Abidal returned to the team...

A first minute goal from Andres Iniesta and a second half own goal from Recre centre back Morris was enough to earn Barça a 2-0 victory tonight against Recreativo de Huelva to win three more points in the march towards our 19th La Liga title. Leo Messi missed a penalty near the end but it didn't matter except for those who hope to break Real Madrid's record of 107 league goals in one season. Real Madrid are now nine points behind us with a home game tomorrow against Valladolid, any slip from our rival will be very costly for them.
As expected Pep Guardiola made changes to the team that hammered Bayern Munich 4-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday. Caceres and...

Barça took a gigantic step towards a place in the Champions League semi-finals with a blistering display of football which will not be forgotten by those privileged enough to witness it. Four first half goals left four times champions of Europe Bayern Munich gasping for breath. Bayern were without three first choice defenders but those who filled in are professional players and Barça made them look like amateurs. Leo Messi led the way with two goals but Barça were superb in every position, we have seen many fine performances this season but the first half today is probably the best football...

A goal from Samuel Eto'o shortly before half time earned Barça a tight 0-1 win tonight in Valladolid. We had chances to finish the game off in the second half but ended up biting our nails as Valladolid searched for an equalizer. The win puts us nine points ahead of Real Madrid who are playing in Malaga as I write. Pep Guardiola kept Leo Messi and Dani Alves on the bench until the last half an hour after both players had played international games in South America on Wednesday, but there was a return to the team for Andres Iniesta and Carles Puyol after their respective...

Barça tore Malaga apart this evening in yet another exhibition of attacking football that will have reminded the rest of Europe which team is playing the best football this season. It is still possible that Barça end the season with no trophies, but whatever happens in the next ten weeks this season will have to be remembered for some of the best football ever seen. Barça scored six goals between the 19th and 57th minutes and threatened to reach double figures with wave after wave of fluent attacks. It is difficult to find adjectives worthy enough to describe such a display.
Barça began with a fantastic rhythm...

Two goals early in the second half from Bojan Krkic gave Barça a thoroughly deserved victory tonight in Almeria. If it hadn't been for some fine goalkeeping from Diego Alves in the first half the scoreline would have better reflected Barça's dominance. Last night Real Madrid's win at Athletic Bilbao had reduced the gap at the top to just three points, but Barça showed no signs of nerves and even when the ball wouldn't enter in the first half we kept plugging away with patient football until Bojan finally found the...
