Unless there is a major surprise in the next couple of hours, the only last day transfer activity at Barça has seen the departure of one of our most promising youngsters Iago Falqué Silva who has signed for Juventus. The 18-year-old has signed a four year contract for the Italians.
According to the Juventus website which calls the player "Falque Silva Yago" the player underwent his medical today and then signed the contract at the Club's headquarters. The Juve website continues: "Yago expressed his satisfaction for the deal: «I'm happy to have the chance to join a prestigious Club such as Juventus. I'm excited about the idea of being able to train with huge stars and I can't wait to begin. I hope I can make myself useful...

Not a lot to report from the last two days in Barcelona, the beginning of the Olympic Games means the local sports papers have plenty of other news to fill their pages meaning the transfer rumours can be put to one side. However, what can be reported is that Marc Crosas move to Celtic has been confirmed and the player was presented before Celtic's win against St Mirren this weekend.
For €500,000, Celtic have got an absolute bargain. For Crosas too it is an excellent opportunity as competing against the likes of Xavi and Iniesta he was always going to have an uphill struggle to break into Barça's midfield. I've probably only...

Ajax Amsterdam have confirmed today the signing of Barça defender Oleguer Presas. Ajax have arrived at an agreement with the player after the clubs agreed on the deal last week. Oleguer will take a medical on Monday before being presented. He has agreed a deal until 2011 and Ajax will pay Barça €3 million + €2 million for variables.
Oleguer has had his critics among Barça fans but he played 164 games for the club and was a regular in 2004/5 and 2005/6 when Frank Rijkaard's team were at their best. He was also a member of the team that won the Champions League against Arsenal in Paris. Good luck Olly in your new career.

At just past 11p.m. tonight Joan Laporta and AC Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliano announced they had reached an agreement for the sale of Ronaldinho Gaucho. Ronaldinho will travel to Milan in the morning to pass a medical and he will then be presented as a Milan player. The fee is said to be €21 million + €4 million for various objectives. This brings to the end the Barça career of one of the greatest players, if not the greatest ever to grace Camp Nou.
From his home debut against Sevilla in Semptember in 2003 when he scored one of the greatest goals I've ever seen, Ronnie thrilled fans with his shimmies and flicks. He was responsible for bringing Barça out of the doldrums of the Gaspart era which reached its crescendo in Paris when Barça beat Arsenal to win their second Europea...

Zenit St Petersburg have announced on their webpage that they have ended negotiations with Barça for the sale of Andrei Arshavin. Barça made an offer of €15 million for the player who thrilled Europe with his performance against Holland in the Euro 2008 quarter final. Zenit are said to be looking for a price in the range of €25-30 million, but they also say that Barça are the only club to have made an offer so far. The fact that the player has publically stated that he wants to play at Camp Nou may play in Barça's favour, hopefully we are just playing hardball in the hope that the Russians drop their asking price. Zenit coach Dick Advocaat has said that Arshavin will not play again for Zenit until his future is cleared up.

The presentations continue at Can Barça. Today was the turn of central defender Gerard Pique who has signed for four seasons. Pique who played alongside Leo Messi and Cesc Fabregas in Barça's junior teams returns home after four years at Manchester United. Barça paid United €5 million to get Pique back and he will now have a buy-out clause of €50 million. With Gabi Milito out injured the 21-year-old could go straight into the first team. He has experience of La Liga after playing the 2006/7 season on loan at Zaragoza.
In other news today Barça are supposedly closing in on Andrei Arshavin but will still have to persuade Arshavin's current club Zenit to accept their offer which is believed to be around €15 million. Meanwhile Chelsea are reportedly about to make an offer for Samue...

Yesterday was the end of the footballing year so it was a day when contracts reached their end. So apart from saying goodbye to Deco who has signed for Chelsea, it was also the end of their time at Barça for Santi Ezquerro and Lilian Thuram. After his transfer to PSG fell through, Thuram is now a free agent and it remains to be seen if he finds a club or not. Ezquerro brings to an end a remarkably poor three years at Camp Nou in which he only played 11 league games, I have to say I find it difficult to understand why he didn't leave earlier except of course I imagine nobody would match the wages he was earning here. barça have also lost the services of promising young defender Marc Valiente who has signed for Sevilla where he will begin in their B-team with hopes to be promoted to the first team soon. So far f...

As had been expected for some time Deco has signed for Chelsea. The london club confirmed the transfer today and Chelsea will pay Barça €10 million for the Portuguese star who has signed for two seasons. Deco was one of the cornerstones of the team that won La Liga in 2004/5 and 2005/6 and the Champions League in 2005/6. However, his form has been disappointing in the last two seasons as he struggled with various personal problems. He played well in Euro 2008 and could well refind some of his old form for a new club. While we may not cry too much now to lose him we should never forget what a great player he was in those first two seasons. So, thank you Deco for some great memories, I wish you luck at Chelsea (I just hope you don't win anything for the b*st*rds :p )

According to press reports Henrique Adriano Buss has signed for Barça for a fee in the region of €8-10 million. The 21-year-old defender has been a star of Palmeiras and in March 2008 was called up for the first time by the Brazilian national team. It is believed that Henrique, who is 1M85 tall, will travel to Scotland for Barça's preseason but will probably be loaned out to allow him to develop. Sounds like he is one for the future: has anyone seen him play?
