Bojan Misses Out On Under-20s World Cup

Monday, 14 September 09, 12:17 PM

Bojan Krkic

Bad news today for Bojan Krkic as he has been left out of Spain's Under-20s squad for the World Cup which will take place in Egypt from September 24 to October 16. Bojan underwent tests today to see how he was recovering from the injury to his left thigh which he picked up at the end of the first league game of the season against Sporting Gijon at the end of August. At first it was thought that the injury would see Bojan out for two to three weeks, but the results of the tests today showed he has not yet recovered and will therefore not be able to play in the tournament.

Bojan Still Has A Lot To Learn

Monday, 24 November 08, 12:02 PM

Bojan in action yesterday against Getafe

There has been a lot of talk today about the form of Bojan Krkic especially after his disappointing performance yesterday against Getafe. It is a lot of pressure for a lad who has only just turned 18 and it seems that it precisely that pressure which is affecting his game. There is no doubt about his talent, a player who scores over 800 goals in seven seasons in Barça's lower categories can be no mug, and last season we saw plenty of signs of his growing ability as he scored ten league goals for Barça's first team under Frank Rijkaard.

This season, however, he seems to be suffering from the pressure and the confidence is beginning to wane. Bojan comes from a...

Barça - Valladolid Saturday 8th November Kick Off 10pm

Friday, 31 October 08, 04:37 AM

Bojan Krkic in action in last season's 4-1 win over Valladolid

I don't know about you but I have to say I'm getting a bit fed up of so many Saturday night games. The LFP have announced that next week's game with Valladolid will take place at 10pm local time on Saturday night. Barça will start the game knowing the result of Real Madrid who play Malaga at the Bernabeu at 8pm. Last season Barça beat Valladolid 4-1 with two goals from Bojan Krkic in what was probably his best game for Barça. Click here for my report on last season's match.

Henry Double Sinks Tunisia

Wednesday, 15 October 08, 02:09 AM

Henry celebrates one of his goals

There were six Barça players on international duty yesterday and the star of the night was Thierry Henry who scored twice in France's 3-1 win in a friendly against Tunisia. Tunisia took the lead after 30 minutes but France hit back with goals from Henry in minutes 40 and 49. Karim Benzema scored France's third just before the hour. Henry played 83 minutes before being substituted by Malouda. Eric Abidal played the full 90 minutes in central defence.

Gerard Piqué, Sergio Busquets and Bojan Krkic were all in action for Spain's under-21 team who beat Switzerland 3-1 after extra time to qualify for the under-21s European Championship. Piqué and Bojan played the entire...

Pharyngitis Hits Barça Dressing Room

Friday, 19 September 08, 01:36 PM

Yesterday it was Victor Valdés who missed training, and this morning it was Rafa Marquez and Thierry Henry, all suffering from pharyngitis. It sounds bad, but in fact it's just a sore throat. Valdés was back in training today and Marquez was ok for the evening session today though Henry had not recovered and is now considered as doubtful for Sunday's game at Sporting Gijon. The main worry here is whether anyone else will go down tomorrow with the same bug.

There's been talk in the local papers this week about how little Bojan has played so far this season, especially as the departure of Ronaldinho and Giovani Dos Santos should mean there is less competition for places as only Hleb of the new signings can play...

Bojan Called Up To Replace Torres For Spain

Monday, 01 September 08, 11:52 AM

Young striker Bojan Krkic has been called up by Vicente Del Bosque for Spain's senior squad for the coming games against Armenia and Bosnia. Bojan has been called in to replace Fernando Torres who was injured yesterday in Liverpool's game against Aston Villa. The international break meant that there were only six players at training today: Pinto, Sylvinho, Gudjohnsen, Victor Sanchez, Dani Alves and Victor Valdés. Gudjohnsen will join up with the Iceland squad on Wednesday, while Samuel Eto'o, who was given permission to miss training today, should be back on Wednesday as tomorrow is a rest day. The team will continue as a reduced group until September 12 when...

Bojan Signs New Contract Until 2013

Friday, 29 August 08, 09:59 AM

Young striker Bojan Krkic today signed a new contract which will see him stay at the club until 2013. Bojan, who turned 18 yesterday, will have a new release clause of €80 million. It's been an eventful week for Bojan as he has also been named in Spain's under-21 squad along with Gerard Piqué and Pedro for the coming matches against Kazakhstan and Russia. There had been rumours that Bojan would be called up for the full squad, the intention being to play him to ensure that he would be a Spanish player as Radimir Antic, coach of the Serbian national team, has been trying to tempt Bojan to opt for Serbia.

Puyol, Iniesta and Xavi were all named in the Spanish full squad who are playing Bosnia and
