Lets talk about an upset(sarcastically), well to me it really wasnt! Honestly, I can understand why this would be considered an upset seeing that Peru hardly does good in qualifiers and in futbol period, and Uruguay has the most championships of Copa America(tied with Argentina), but as a Peruvian from the 80's generation I have followed the struggles and wins/ and losses of my team since the mid 90's. We've always had a good team, and you'd have to follow peruvian soccer to notice it. We play what many consider "Attractive Futbol". Yet, it doesnt really get us far. Like this game, We usually win the first big games, and later losing the others(people think we might get full of ourselves). It's countless the amount of times I've seen Peru cross, pass, and play so beautifully, yet reach the goal and do nothing with it. They get lost sometimes, and sometimes they become miracolous. The difference I actually see now, is a more tranquil Peru. Usually they begin winning big(just like this game) but in a different manner. They are very explosive and just play like if they are on the streets, like some sort of street knowledge that no one can comprehend. They whip some butt. But this time, they are playing very tranquil, and although the game was boring at first, the most important thing is that they won and scored good goals. Also, people think that the Peruvian players drink too much and party too much before and after games(win or losses). I dont really know this area of the game, but I've known some players and I can say it's sometimes true and sometimes exagerrated. But what I liked about this win, is that after they won, the players presence during the interview was awesome. They said "you people can party all you want, we'll be fine and tranquil".( the Peruvian Press really has a way with the players always trying to find something wrong that they might say and exploit it, but this time the Players got the best of them. I Love what Uribe is doing.
ARRIBA PERU CARAJO!

The Goal that should have been............(they robbed us!)(beautiful play)
Siempre les llevare en mi corazon Peru. Aunque muchos les abandoran siempre estare contigo. If you win or lose(si pierden or ganen), I'll always keep the faith and cheer you guys on, and if I could, I'd be over there playing with you guys right Now. One day we'll get far, like our golden years of the 70's.

I totally agree with you. I can tell you are a really follower of our soccer and fully comprehend what our style of soccer is about. Keep up the good work.
I know , its wierd though the way Peru can surprise the world. However at point we were called the "Masters of Touch" back in our days of glory. That game against Uruguay showed the world that Peru
still has the skill to become a world class team.Lets just hope we don't get too overwhelmed by this victory, we still got a long way 2 go. VAMOS PERU CARAJO!!!!!!!!
