Essay Question. Tottenham Hotspur are Coronation Street. Discuss.

Sunday, 26 October 08, 06:23 AM

Tottenham Hotspur, in a last ditch effort to avert what they consider to be a disaster but which we consider an act of God, have fired Juande Ramos, Gus Poyet and Damien Comolli and hired relegation avoidance specialist Harry ‘awright my son, ‘av it’ Redknapp. ‘arry is expected to be in the dugout for the Bolton today before the scum’s match against the Arsenal on Wednesday at the Emirates Stadium. It’s not just me is it? Arsenal always manage to play teams shortly after they have taken on a new manager. Normally it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference but for the game on Wednesday it certainly adds some spice doesn’t it. I was more concerned when the summers took on Ramos actually, he came with a great record with Sevilla in Spain and looked to be the continental coach Sperz had been looking for for the last decade, since the glory days of Christian Gross. Hilariously, Ramos turned out to be utterly useless, as had everyone previously, with the exception of Martin Jol, who they sacked for some reason! Now they have cockney geezer Redknapp at the helm and for me that finally confirms that the aspirations of the club are strictly mediocre. The litmus test being: can you imagine the Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, or Liverpool appointing Redknapp as coach? No, of course not. Brilliantly, on Sky Sports News this morning a number of Tottenham fans have been phoning in to say ‘bring back Defoe’ hahahahahahaha Sperz fans really are rather amusing aren’t they? Oh yes, David Bentley is a simpleton, he remarkably thinks he is David Beckham, but as my brother accurately pointed out Bentley is in fact an ugly version of Beckham who’s crap at football! He is like Danny DeVito to Beckham’s Arnold Schwarzeneggar. Redknapp says he doesn’t expect his team at Portsmouth, e.g. Tony Adams, to follow him to Tottenham. I’m sure he won’t, Adams hated Tottenham and the feeling was mutual. I hope that he doesn’t go there, I don’t want my opinion of him to change. Although given his record at Wycombe perhaps if Adams did move to Sperz he could finally get the f*ckers relegated. Good results for us yesterday (except for Hull) with Manchester United only drawing. We could put a bit of breathing space between us and them before we face them in a couple of weeks. It was good to see Rooney go mad yesterday, I thought that he had got control of the gamma radiation problem but apparently not. It’s only a shame he wasn’t on the pitch for long enough to get sent off. Today, the Arsenal face Harry Redknapp’s first love West Ham United at Upton Park. It is vital that we take all three points today. We have built up a little bit of momentum after the international break and it must continue today.

Team news for today sadly doesn’t include a comeback for Sagna, which probably means the most enthusiastic player in our history, Eboue, will continue at right back. We should see a return of Toure and Gallas in defence, provided Wenger hasn’t smacked Gallas’s botty for smoking! We will probably also see RVP back in with Adebayor.

What on Earth are Beckham and AC Milan playing at? What if Beckham gets an injury playing or training for Milan, that’s not exactly fair on Galaxy is it? I was hoping the talented ponce would rejoin Arsenal for training as he did last year. His experience would have been very useful for the young urchins we have at Colney. Would it have been a good idea to take him on loan as Man Utd did with Larssen a couple of years back? Maybe. He would certainly have been an injection of experience in the midfield, but ultimately he is a bit of an old-timer.Don’t forget, if you want to hear plans about the future of the Auld Triangle Pub then you should turn up at the pub on Monday evening at 7.30pm to hear the architect talk through his plans for demolition of the pub and the construction of some flats. Also, I went for a meal the other night at local restaurant Exquisito on Blackstock Road – just down from the Woodbine Pub. If you are looking for a delicious post-match meal or even want to treat your girlfriend to a midweek Mexican then this small friendly restaurant is a real gem. The menu is delicious with enormous helpings of traditional Mexican fare and more Tex-Mex steak based meals. Their Burritos Enchiladas and Chimichangas are so vast they are virtually impossible to eat but they are so delicious you have to power on through. The Mole is the best I have tasted outside Central America. The waitresses are hot and you get free shots when you finish your meal. Try it, I was amazed that a restaurant of this calibre was on my doorstep.  El Burgervan Prediction: West Ham United 1 – 3 Arsenal
