Since this is the inaugural Forza Futbol WAG's edition, I thought we'd begin with the wives and girlfriend for another year and for another league and especially that of the biggest, most
dysfunctional club in the world let alone La Liga: Real Madrid. 9 European Championships, and FIFA chiming in calling you the greatest club of the 20th century, and something must be a-foot, but
frankly it's more what's underfoot.
First we'll begin with Raul Gonzalez, he of the one name moniker usually reserved for celebrities or South Sea Islands, and his lovely wife Maria del Carmen Sanz whom everyone inexplicably calls
Mamen. More like an order given to nursery babes to suck rather than a nickname for a wife, mother of four and ex-supermodel, this Spanish beauty was discovered by "el capitan" at a bar in which she
worked as a waitress and that he either frequented or owned (the data is very shaky either way).
Well he partied, often, during his oat-sowing years . So much in fact, that his superiors amongst the marbled halls decided it was becoming a distraction. An internal memo which has since disappeared
was dispatched. "Get a steady girlfriend", it supposedly urged.
They married a short time later. He was 22 and she was 24, and the baby factory opened for business. First Jorge, named after famed Real Madrid nutter Valdano, and then came second child Hugo (named
after Hugo Sanchez) who apparently catapulted out a somersault shortly after birth. Soon came a set of twins named Hector and Mateo who are both peripherally named after Madrid players. Personally I
would have chosen the name Manolo or Venancio but I'm just warped.
And then the rumours started about trouble in paradise. Another memo was released which has since disappeared. He started kissing his ring during goal celebrations and she barely noticed since the
goals themselves started to dry up. She returned to the catwalk and he and Moro got matching tattoos on their ankles. The rest. Stay tuned.
