The thugs of Stoke City got crashed by the Rovers in their last match and now the Potters is once again flirting with the relegation zone. A draw against Man Utd at home would be welcome.
Manchester Utd main squad comes back to the Premier after winning the FIFA Club World Cup. Rooney was crowned as the best footballer of the tournament but now it's time to catch up and not lose the table leaders from sight.
GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Man U win on the road 0-2
Tuesday, 26 August 08, 12:50 PM
Eleven goals have been scored in the two opening matches for Aston Villa: a 4-2 win over Man City made the fans cheer and praise their young striker Gabby Agbonlahor's hat trick but last Saturday's last minute goal by Sunderland threw a bucket of cold water in the Villan's plans and also turn on the red alert on some leaks in the defence. There's still time to correct the mistakes but they will have to face Robbie Keane and Fernando Torres next.
The Reds is one of the only two teams who won their two first matches this season (Chelsea is the other one). Rafa Benitez's squad has not played to its fullest potential yet but I believe match after match the duo Keane & Torres will "find" each other on the pitch.
GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Another draw 1-1

All right, all right... We all know Arsenal lost some pieces and some others were injured but that cannot be an excuse for a team that wants to claim the title as "best of England". A very unconvincing win over West Brom and then a bloody awful performance against Fulham can be considered a poor start for a club like the Gunners.
The Magpies are hanging well in the second group in the table with one win and a draw and now it's time to continue progressing and showing improvement to maintain the chances to secure a spot among the top teams in the league.
GOBSMACK PREDICTION: an exciting 1-1 draw
Tuesday, 26 August 08, 11:14 AM
The clash between Everton and Portsmouth starts outside the pitch this season. Both clubs are in the race to sign Brazilian midfielder Thiago Motta from Atletico Madrid. But what really matters is the fact that none of the two squads managed to impress the fans in their first two matches.
The Toffees lost their first match at home to Blackburn and had to sweat a lot to beat West Brom Albion last Saturday. Pompey's situation is even worse. The FA Cup winners still didn't score one single goal but already allowed five. Portsmouth has a lot to prove. A lot.
GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Everton will sink Pompey even more: 2-0

Live coverage of the Hull City vs. Wigan Athletic match on Saturday, 30 August, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Hull City has been proving they want more than surviving in the top flight of English football. After a win against die-hard Fulham and a draw against Paul Ince's Rovers, the Tigers now go after Wigan Athletic.
The Latics lost their first two matches this season and now Coach Steve Bruce is confirming that the club in interested in South Korean striker Park Chu-Young. Well, adding players during the season might not be a solution for all the clubs but when one sees the ghost of relegation threatening to knock on his door again any attempt may become a solution.
GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Hull City 3 - 1

23 years later the Potters are back! With the 2nd place in the Championship last season Stoke City got their ticket to return to the top flight of English football. But surviving the toughest league in the world will be the biggest challenge now. Stoke City finished in second place in the Championship last season to gain their promotion and will face 16th place in the 2007-2008 Premiership season Bolton Wanderers.
The Trotters will also have a lot to prove after flirting dangerously with relegation last season. Some experienced members of last season’s squad were axed to give room to new blood. Veteran former Aston Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen arrived on a free transfer, but the club also spend a good amount of money in bringing midfielder Seyi Olofinjana for £3million and the club record £5.5million swoop for striker Dave Kitson.
