Premier League Match Preview: Hull City v. West Brom

This former Championship battle now happens in a much different situation than it used to be. Hull City had a fantastic run in the beginning of their Premiership debut but West Brom didn't prove that they deserved to be there from the start. The Tigers seem to have lost their momentum but it's more than a matter of honour to beat WBA at the KC Stadium.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: The Tigers win 3-0

Premier League Match Preview: Liverpool v. Hull City

Live coverage of the Liverpool vs. Hull City match on Saturday, 13 December, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. 'Pool went to Ewood Park and put up a good performance to maintain their top spot at the table. Now the Reds will host Hull City and  to maintain the lead Benitez boys will have to work a little harder to overcome the Tigers enthusiasm and solid campaign.

Yeah you heard me right. I said that the Tigers  are having a solid campaign. And I wouldn't be too shocked if they come back from Anfield with a point. Three would be too much enthusiasm.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Liverpool win 2-0

Premier League Match Preview: Hull City v. Middlesbrough

Wednesday, 03 December 08, 02:14 AM

Live coverage of the Hull City vs. Middlesbrough match on Saturday, 06 December, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Tigers host Boro at the KC Stadium in the week number sixteen of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

It seems like the Tigers are losing the initial enthusiasm. No complaints have been heard at the KC Stadium stands yet but with Everton threatening the club's 6th position a win over Boro is almost a necessity.

The same could be said about Middlesbrough. Three weeks since the team saw their last win. Things could be better for Boro but they've been victims of their own mistakes.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: I will still go with the Tigers, 1-0

Premier League Match Preview: Stoke City v. Hull City

Wednesday, 26 November 08, 12:07 PM

Live coverage of the Stoke City vs. Hull City match on Saturday, 29 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Potters host the Tigers at the Britannia Stadium in the week number fifteen of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

As I predicted the Stoke Thugs pushed their side to a win last weekend against West Brom. The Potters will have now another former Championship side ahead of them in a match that promises a lot of passion from both sides. They won't play just for the three points they will play to prove to the Tigers who's the best team.

So far the answer for that question is Hull City. They are the best of the three clubs promoted from the Coca-Cola Championship. Solid performances prove that and the 6th position on the table is the result of such good work.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: A hard match to predict but I'll go with Hull City winning this one 0-1

Premier League Match Preview: Portsmouth v. Hull City

Wednesday, 19 November 08, 01:50 AM

Live coverage of the Portsmouth vs. Hull City match on Saturday, 22 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when Pompey host the Tigers at Fratton Park in the week number fourteen of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

I am tired of mentioning that Pompey is exactly where they should be: not in danger of being relegated and not harming the top clubs. Portsmouth continue as one of the least appealing teams this season. That being said I believe they can beat the Tigers at home but I just hope they don't.

Hull City's dream of the top four finally came to an end. As I said many times before I'm 88.2% sure that they won't be relegated but now the team is getting the true feeling of an EPL season. On the good side we can see that those lads are taking their task very seriously and bravely fight for every ball until the very last minute. That smells like success.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Hull surprises Pompey 1-2

Premier League Match Preview: Hull City v. Manchester City

Wednesday, 12 November 08, 03:33 PM

Live coverage of the Hull City vs. Manchester City match on Sunday, 16 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Tigers host the Citizens at the KC Stadium in the week number thirteen of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. All right Tigers! time to get back on track. And by that I don't beating every team but losing at home to Bolton should not be part of the plan to stay at the top flight for another season, right? If the defence can keep its form against Robinho I believe there's a chance for a good result.

The rich boys can't win. Robinho is killing himself up front but there is no defensive midfield giving the defence a good support. Man City is a disaster right now. If they lose to Hull I believe Mark Hughes will get the boot.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Hull win 2-1 (I'm being ultra-optimistic)

Premier League Match Preview: Hull City v. Bolton

Tuesday, 04 November 08, 11:08 AM

Live coverage of the Hull City vs. Bolton Wanderers match on Saturday, 8 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Tigers host the Trotters at the KC Stadium in the week number twelve of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

The Tigers lost to Chelsea and to Man U. Nothing surprising, correct? Actually the surprise is the fact that Phil Brown's boys still managed to score three goals on the European Champions at Old Trafford. Now that's impressive! Hull will face Bolton at home and have a good chance to get back on track and impose their determined football on the Trotters.

Everything Bolton fans were praying to happen last weekend backfired. And the last hope was Newcastle losing to Aston Villa but that didn't happen either and Bolton continued at the relegation zone. Well, the good, actually very good side of all this is that theTrotters did their part and beat the rich boys of Man City. Great job by those Superwhites! Now let's see if they can handle the Tigers the same way.

GOBSMACK PREDITICION: Tigers bite Bolton 2-0

Premier League Match Preview -> Manchester United v. Hull City

Thursday, 30 October 08, 11:45 AM

Live coverage of the Manchester United vs. Hull City match on Saturday, 1 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Red Devils host the Tigers at Old Trafford in the week number eleven of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

Man U is not playing as well as they did last season but Cristiano Ronaldo showed in the last match against West Ham why he's the favourite to win all the Player of Year Awards. Not for his looks as he might wish but for his talent and goals.

The Tigers should not lower their heads. The 0-3 loss to Chelsea was not a big surprise. Hull City know they are doing a lot more than what everyone expected from them. Can they beat Man Utd? Well, didn't they beat Arsenal?  So everything is possible.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Let's not state the obvious which would be 2-0 win for Man U and let's take the risk to say 0-1 to Hull City.

Premier League Match Preview -> Hull City v. Chelsea

Monday, 27 October 08, 10:52 AM

Live coverage of the Hull City vs. Chelsea match on Wednesday 29 October, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Tigers host the Blues at the KC Stadium in the week number ten of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

I would love to say that after the solid performance and the 3-0 win over WBA the Tigers will be able to hold Chelsea and get at least a draw against the Blues. Well, in football anything can happen but what are the odds that Hull will really win this match? I'd say it's 30%-70% in favour of Chelsea.

But as I still want to sound optimistic; UP THE HULL!!!!

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Optimistic prediction is Hull win 1-0, but an impartial prediction is Chelsea win 3-1

Premier League Match Preview -> West Brom v. Hull City

Tuesday, 21 October 08, 02:18 AM

Live coverage of the West Bromwich Albion vs. Hull City match on Saturday 25 October, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Baggies host the Tigers at the Hawthorns in the week number nine of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

West Brom got hammered by Manchester United last weekend but the Baggies still managed to hold a 0-0 draw for the first 45 minutes. That being said I understand WBA are able to shock the Tigers. (I just hope they don't)

So as you can see the prophecy was fulfilled! Hull City's win over West Ham put The Housemartins at the same level as Nostradamus when in 1986 the released the album "London 0  Hull 4".

London 0 - Hull 4

The victims were: Fulham,  Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham.

The Tigers are not going to be relegated!!! Up the Hull...

*As you can see I am clearly cheering for Hull City. It's a pleasure to see a small club challenging the big boys.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Up the Hull. Tigers win 2-0
