Premier League Match Preview: Stoke City v. Manchester City

I'm really thrilled to see Stoke fans walking on the streets with their traditional frowns and their renowned depressive drunkness. Stoke City's performance against the Spurs was simply horrible. In only 25 minutes the Potters allowed three goals. Every match from now on is life-or-death for Stoke City but I see no hope for the Potters.

Man City is one of the teams that resurrected since boxing day. The Citizens got 3 wins and 1 draw in their last matches and now sit in the top half of the table (9th place). Playing a desperate Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium won't be easy but with Bellamy already feeling comfortable with Robinho and Wright-Phillips the Citizens have a good chance to keep the mommentum going.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: City win 2-0

The thugs of Stoke City got crashed by the Rovers in their last match and now the Potters is once again flirting with the relegation zone. A draw against Man Utd at home would be welcome.

Manchester Utd main squad comes back to the Premier after winning the FIFA Club World Cup. Rooney was crowned as the best footballer of the tournament but now it's time to catch up and not lose the table leaders from sight.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Man U win on the road 0-2

Both teams came from draws last week which kept the one-point difference between them and also made this clash a quite interesting one. I believe Fulham has a much better squad but playing in front of the Stoke thug supporters won't make things easy

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Stoke pulls a win at home 1-0

Not even the most optimistic Potters' fan would dare to say, before the season started , that the club would be in a better position than Newcastle United in the 15th week. But they are and they have chances to win this clash.

Newcastle is struggling to get important wins to climb out of the relegation zone. The solution for the Toon Army still seems far away.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION:Potters win 0-1

Premier League Match Preview: Stoke City v. Hull City

Wednesday, 26 November 08, 12:07 PM

Live coverage of the Stoke City vs. Hull City match on Saturday, 29 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Potters host the Tigers at the Britannia Stadium in the week number fifteen of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

As I predicted the Stoke Thugs pushed their side to a win last weekend against West Brom. The Potters will have now another former Championship side ahead of them in a match that promises a lot of passion from both sides. They won't play just for the three points they will play to prove to the Tigers who's the best team.

So far the answer for that question is Hull City. They are the best of the three clubs promoted from the Coca-Cola Championship. Solid performances prove that and the 6th position on the table is the result of such good work.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: A hard match to predict but I'll go with Hull City winning this one 0-1

Premier League Match Preview: Stoke City v. West Brom

Wednesday, 19 November 08, 01:56 AM

Live coverage of the Stoke City vs. West Brom Albion match on Saturday, 22 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Potters host the Baggies at the Britannia Stadium in the week number fourteen of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

Stoke got too excited with the two surprising wins but reality came back hard on the Portters. After a draw against Wigan they were crushed by Manchester United 5-0 and if their crowd of thugs and hooligans fail to help the team get a win this weekend we might see Stoke back to the relegation zone.

West Brom came on top in the League Championship last season finishing two points ahead of Stoke City and six ahead of Hull. But as they sit at the bottom of the EPL table they watch both their Championship do a descent job at the top flight while they seem to have a stamp on their passport sayin "Back to the Championship". A win against Stoke City could change things a little bit for the Baggies.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Stoke thug-power will prevail over the Baggies 2-0

Premier League Match Preview -> Manchester United v. Stoke City

Tuesday, 11 November 08, 03:30 PM

Live coverage of the Manchester United vs. Stoke City match on Saturday, 15 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Red Devils host the Potters at Old Trafford in the week number thirteen of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. I believe Manchester United does not want to win the EPL this season. I can't see the same fire that they had last season. They are probably suffering from after-title-syndrome. A type of lethargic behaviour that is pretty contagious. They are among the top four because the quality of the team is still the same and the combined results are helping them.

On the other hand Stoke City is on a surprising rampage. In the last 6 matches the Potters won 10 points and the wins against Tottenham and Arsenal certainly boosted the lads' confidence to dream with another season in the top flight. But can they beat Man U at Old Trafford? Certainly NOT.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Ronaldo scores two and Man Utd win 4-0

Premier League Match Preview: Wigan v. Stoke

Tuesday, 04 November 08, 10:50 AM

Live coverage of the Wigan Athletic vs. Stoke City match on Saturday, 8 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Latics host the Potters at the JJB Stadium in the week number twelve of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

I misjudged Wigan's capacity of ... of... well, I don't know how to explain this team. Maybe bravery is a good word for what they achieved last weekend against Pompey. They went to the Fratton Park and came back with a 2-1 win that gave them some more oxygen to breath and kept them out of the relegation zone for another week. Now they face a Stoke City squad that is also very pumped up with a astonishing win over Arsenal.

I really don't know what do say about Stoke. When I thought they were stamping their passports back to the Championship they come and smack me in the face. Twice.

With the two wins in the last two matches Stoke City climbed up to the 12th place and if they can perform well on the road this coming weekend they can break through the top ten clubs in the EPL.

Unbelievable.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: I'll give Stoke the benefit of the doubt this time and I'll say they'll get a 1-1 draw.

Tottenham Hotspur will win the EPL ... And I'm paying my bet

Saturday, 01 November 08, 02:49 PM

Tottenham Hotspur  (also known as Tottingham Hotspurs) did what no one thought it would be possible (maybe with the exception of Harry Hotspur) THEY BEAT Liverpool!!!

And it was in an extraordinary fashion. I'll write more about it on my next match preview posts. But for now I have to pay the bet I made with all my readers (do I have any?)

Here is my picture wearing the Spurs strip. And it will be kept on until they lose again.

Oh, and should I mention that Arsenal got stoked by Stoke City?

If I'm not wrong Arseblog said it would be the opposite. HAHAHAHA!!!

It was funny to hear all the Stoke Hooligans hugging and kissing each other in the mouth after the match.

Premier League Match Preview -> Stoke City v. Arsenal

Thursday, 30 October 08, 12:23 PM

Live coverage of the Stoke City vs. Arsenal FC match on Saturday, 1 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Potters host the Gunners at the Britannia Stadium in the week number eleven of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

Stoke City fans were waiting for me outside my house after their win over Sunderland and I could see by my bedroom window that their intention was not take to their celebration party at the pub. I locked myself in and grabbed another imported beer. And this time there won't be any surprises. They will not be able to beat the Gunners.

Arsenal played an eight-goal match against the Spurs and both teams ended with four each. But it was a result that left a very sour taste in the Gunners' mouths. The team had a 4-2 lead until the 89 minute of the match when after intense pressure from the visitors, Jermaine Jenas found Amunia's top corner and one minute later Aaron Lennon scored the equalizer after Modric had hit the post. Arsene Wenger is still looking for answer to how this all happened.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Arsenal win with no flukes this time 0-4
