Oh, Arsenal... This is not the Gunners' year (again). Van Persie saved the team last night with a late goal at Goodison Park but to be really honest, Arsenal deserved to lose the match. The Gunners will now host the Hammers that won 4 matches and got 1 draw putting them in an unbeaten streak since boxing day. The smile is back on the Italian Stallion Gianfranco Zola's face.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: No smiles for Zola on this one. The Arse win 3-1

Pompey couldn't hold the draw against Bolton last week and let a great chance to improve their position on the table. Well, that's just the way Porstmouth is, isn't? They might even bring West Ham back from the dead.

Hammers, Hammers... they only get hammered ... week after week... The usual smile on Zola's face have been long gone and so might himself if the team continues to play awfully.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Let's say that Pompey will win 2-1

No more mistakes allowed for the Blues. At home Scollari's lads have the obligation to win every match until the end of the season and this one shouldn't be different.

The Hammers are sinking slowly into a dangerous situation that might send them back to the Championship if they don't start a resurrection plan right now.  I don't think it will be agsint Chelsea at Stamford Bridge but who knows?

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Chelsea win 3-1

The Hammers' draw against Liverpool at Anfield was received as a win by the club's board. The team need wins but in the end Zola and the lads were relieved with the result. Now it's time to get a win at home.

Oh Spurs... When the fans thought everything was going perfect the team suffered a Juande Ramos withdraw syndrome and the wins disappeared. It's a dangerous flirt with the relegation zone what they've been doing. Time for some serious football for Rednapp's boys.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Spurs win 0-2

Premier League Match Preview: Liverpool v. West Ham

What I just wrote about Chelsea missing out the chance to open to points over Liverpool apply here for the Reds too. They lost two precious points against Fulham at Anfield last weekend and are still behind the Blues in goal differential. They will have a second chance this Monday when they face West Ham. On sunday I'm sure they will hope for a draw between Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Hammers, on the other hand, finally made peace with lady victory last weekend. Zola's side didn't play well against Sunderland but the most important were the three points. Now, playing agsint Liverpool at Anfield will be a total different story for the Hammers. Can they win? Yes, everything is possible in football. Do I think they will win? Not at all.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Liverpool win 2-0

Premier League Match Preview: Sunderland v. West Ham United

Wednesday, 19 November 08, 02:14 AM

Live coverage of the Sunderland vs. West Ham United match on Sunday, 23 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Black Cats host the Hammers at the Stadium of Light in the week number fourteen of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

Djibril Cisse was the man who gave the Black Cats their second goal to crown the team's come back on the road against the Rovers last weekend. It's a result that fills the lads with confidence for this clash against Gianfranco Zola's Hammers. But it's also a result that tends to hide mistakes that still need to be correct if Sunderland want to breath free from the danger of a relegation.

The same cannot even be said about West Ham. It's true that they didn't lose but a goalless draw against Pompey at home doesn't necessarily please the fans and the board. The pressure on Zola intensifies.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: The Black Cats win at home 1-0

Premier League Match Preview -> West Ham v. Portsmouth

Live coverage of the West Ham vs. Portsmouth match on Saturday, 15 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Hammers host Pompey at Boleyn Ground in the week number thirteen of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. The Hammers won only 1 point in the last six matches. Gianfranco Zola can't understand what's going on and neither can the fans. Every week instead of improving the team gets worse. What else is there to say?

Pompey won last weekend's match as I said they would. I believe they can also beat west Ham just because everyone else is doing it. But it's in moments like this that caution is necessary. Desperate teams can bring evil surprises with them.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Pompey win 0-2

Premier League Match Preview: West Ham v. Everton

Tuesday, 04 November 08, 11:22 AM

Live coverage of the West Ham vs. Everton match on Saturday, 8 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Hammers host the Toffees at Upton Park in the week number twelve of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. West Ham almost got a win on the road last weekend. The goals scored by Mullins at the 21st minute gave the Hammers a lead that lasted until the 83rd when Mido, who had come off the bench, tied things up. Disappointing yes, but after four defeats in a row it's good to at least go home with a point.

Everton just did their homework last weekend. But it took 86 minutes for the Toffees to break the Cottagers defence. 1-0 at home. Not the most impressive result but hey, 1-0 or 5-0 are worth the same three points right?

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: West Ham will make peace with Lady Victory. 2-1

The Hammers lost again. That makes 4 in a row. Can the Italian Stallion change the situation? Well, he'd better do something fast because the fanatics West Ham fans are getting unsettled. He could be getting the boot if the team doesn't win this weekend.

Boro on the other hand showed a lot of determination to beat the rich boys from Man City. Southgate'lads fought hard and with Afonso Alves's goal in the 53 minute from the penalty spot Boro secured the three points. O'Neil scored the second at the 90th when the Citizens were already dead in the match.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Boro will enjoy the momentum and get three more points 2-1

Premier League Match Preview -> Manchester United v. West Ham

Monday, 27 October 08, 11:16 AM

Live coverage of the Man U vs. West Ham match on Wednesday 29 October, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Red Devils host the Hammers at Old Trafford in the week number ten of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

Man United lost a great opportunity to reduce their difference to Chelsea this weekend when they draw with Everton. The team dominated the first half but Sir Alex Fergusson's boys apparently ran out of gas in the second 45 minutes of the match. A win at home over West Ham is now not only  important, it's a necessity for Man Utd.

The excitement with Gianfranco Zola has long passed for the Hammers. After the 0-2 home loss to Arsenal this past weekend West Ham added a third consecutive defeat to their record. The 3-1 win over Fulham seems to be so far way in the past and now the team that was on their way to the top of the table sits in the 10th place and stuck with 12 points.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Hammers get hammered by ManU 3-0
