What on bloody earth is going on at the Riverside? Boro had a good run until early November when they beat Arsenal and since then the team took a fast elevator down to the underground. no wins in the last 11 matches (4 draws and 7 losses) and Middlesbrough is now at the relegation. This match against the Rovers is crucial and a win can invert postitions with Blackburn who is only one point ahead of Boro.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION:Boro finally get a win, 2-1

Premier League Match Preview: Middlesbrough v. Arsenal

The result against Hull City last weekend still has a bitter and sour taste in Boro's fans mouths. After taking the lead in the 78th minute the team suffered two goals that crushed the team's and fan's expectations. Now a good result against Arsenal would be very important to keep the Boro in a safe place in the table.

Ebooe was the name of the match agianst Wigan. We all know why right? A horrendous performance and the Gooners didn't spare the bloke. The loud booing and the cheering when Ebooe was subbed left no doubts that Arsenal incapability to maintain a streak of good performances is really bothering the fans.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Boro gets a draw on this one 1-1

Premier League Match Preview: Hull City v. Middlesbrough

Live coverage of the Hull City vs. Middlesbrough match on Saturday, 06 December, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when the Tigers host Boro at the KC Stadium in the week number sixteen of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. It seems like the Tigers are losing the initial enthusiasm. No complaints have been heard at the KC Stadium stands yet but with Everton threatening the club's 6th position a win over Boro is almost a necessity.

The same could be said about Middlesbrough. Three weeks since the team saw their last win. Things could be better for Boro but they've been victims of their own mistakes.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: I will still go with the Tigers, 1-0

Premier League Match Preview: Middlesbrough v. Newcastle United

I don't know hoe Middlesbrough manage to lose 1-3 at home to Bolton. The team had been playing well and getting close to the top four and then, all of a sudden, this disaster.  Wake up Boro if you dream of a continental competition next year.

The Magpies continue their struggle to get out of the relegation zone. If the situation was different we would all agree that the goalless draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge was an outstanding result but at this point anything less than a win isn't just good enough for Newcastle.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Newcastle surprise the Boro and win 1-2

Premier League Match Preview: Middlesbrough v. Bolton

Wednesday, 19 November 08, 01:48 AM

Live coverage of the Middlesbrough vs. Bolton Wanderers match on Saturday, 22 November, 2008. Live commentary and blogging, live score, match result, match review. Catch all the action when Boro host the Trotters at the Riverside Stadium in the week number fourteen of the 2008-2009 English Premier League. Chat and discuss the match live with other fans on OleOle. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MATCH CENTRE.

The Boro have picked up some good results in the last 4 matches. 2draws and 2 wins that put the team in the 8th place on the table. Garry Southgate has been doing a good job  keeping the lads focused and motivated and the results show just that.

The Trotters lost last weekend after two great wins. The team sits in the lower middle part of the table and a bad result next Saturday could send them back to the relegation zone.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Any result here wouldn't be a big surprise but I'll say Bolton will pick up a win on the road 0-1

Everton had a fantastic result last weekend which put them in the 7th position, very close to their goal this season: break into the top four. I personally they won't be able to do it but they need to keep that goal in mind every match. They will need a lot of determination to beat Boro this weekend.

Middlesbrough has been climbing up the table step by step and the win over Aston Villa showed exactly how focus these lads are. They didn't play beautiful football and there's still a lot to improve but if they can manage to always  transform their opponents mistakes into goals they are already in the right  path.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: A tough match to call so I'll go for a 1-1 draw

Aston Villa let three points at St. James' Park last weekend. it was adefeat that noboby really expected but it's against those desperate clubs that one needs to be careful. For this match against the Boro it will be necessary for some lads to step up and take responsibilty. Leadership and determination will be the key factors for a sucessful match.

The same formula above will also serve well for Middlesbrough. There's no desperation on their side but there should be caution. They can't afford to snooze or all the hard work from the last weeks will go down the drain. A win will settle things down.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: A very interesting match this one. I'd say Villa win 3-2

The Hammers lost again. That makes 4 in a row. Can the Italian Stallion change the situation? Well, he'd better do something fast because the fanatics West Ham fans are getting unsettled. He could be getting the boot if the team doesn't win this weekend.

Boro on the other hand showed a lot of determination to beat the rich boys from Man City. Southgate'lads fought hard and with Afonso Alves's goal in the 53 minute from the penalty spot Boro secured the three points. O'Neil scored the second at the 90th when the Citizens were already dead in the match.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Boro will enjoy the momentum and get three more points 2-1

Boro had  a golden chance to clinch three points against Blackburn but was shocked by a last minute equalizer. Too bad for a team who was hoping to give their supporters a relief after the 5-0 beating two weeks ago against Chelsea. Boro fans can't wait for a convincing performance on Wednesday.

Man City finally saw a glamurous exhibition by their wonder boy Robinho. The Brazilian trickster scored the three goals that gave the Citizens an important win and now they will do everything to keep the goals and wins coming. Next victim: Middlesbrough.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Man City upsets Boro 0-2

Blackboring! That's what I last weekend. Paul Ince's lads didn't show anything against Bolton. It was a waste of my precious time to watch that match. At least I had enough beer. That was good.

And Boro boys are probably still sure from the heavy spanking they got from Chelsea. A hand full of goals and zero reaction attitude from Middlesbrough. Things need to chance fast. It's never too early for a honourable comeback!

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Boro wins 2-1
