None of these teams are candidates to title but this match is set to be one of the most important in the clubs aspirations this season. Both teams are leveled with 24 points but could dangerously fall to the relegation zone with a defeat this Saturday. The Trotters come from a draw with Blackburn and the Spurs got a great win over Stoke City with Defoe scoring again. 

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Defoe and modric will lead  "Tottingham" to another win 2-0

'Pool has had a quite deal of luck with Chelsea dropping important points which kept the Reds at the top of the table so far. But I'm still not convinced that the team has what it takes to win the EPL this season and Bolton could surprise them at Anfield.

Yes, I said it. Bolton can shock the leaders. The Trotters have been improving and last weekend's win over Pompey was a classic example of quality and determination.

Ashley Young gave Villa an incredible win at the very last moments of the match against Everton. I thought the  Villans had lost their spark but they proved me wring. The team battled from beggining to end and showed maturity and determination. Against Bolton it should be easier for Aston Villa to impose their superiority. 

Bolton did against Chelsea what I predicted they would do: lose. But the Trotters didn't sucumbe. The 2-0 result was understandable and nothing that could shake their good campaign so far. A point againstAston Villa at the Villa Park will be greatly welcome.

On my last post about Bolton I ended up making a confusion with Fulham. Easy to explain: just like the Cottagers the Trotters are also in a good run and with the deficiencies shown by Chelsea on the match against Arsenal anything could be possible on this match.

The obvious result for the Blues would a win and a comfortable one. But the team is not playing with the same flair as they were in the beginning of the season. Time for a Big Phil to give those lads some tough love.

Two teams coming from very different situations. Sunderland lost at home to West Ham in a game that they could not transform their chances into goals and didn't find enough power to come back on top. As for the Trotters a brilliant performance gave them a well deserved win on the road. Fulham is climbing up the table while Sunderland sinks a little closer to the relegation. 

For Fulham a win represents affirmation for Sunderland it means survival.

The Boro have picked up some good results in the last 4 matches. 2draws and 2 wins that put the team in the 8th place on the table. Garry Southgate has been doing a good job  keeping the lads focused and motivated and the results show just that.

The Trotters lost last weekend after two great wins. The team sits in the lower middle part of the table and a bad result next Saturday could send them back to the relegation zone.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Any result here wouldn't be a big surprise but I'll say Bolton will pick up a win on the road 0-1

Goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen was the man who saved Bolton in the last match against Hull City and guaranteed the team's precious win. It was the second win in a row for Megson's lads but repeating it against Liverpool will be just a dream.

I predicted correctly the 3-0 win for 'Pool last weekend which is not too much of a deral since the Reds are playing very well this season. They might not have too many problems to run over the Trotters and they'll count on the return of Fernando Torres.

The Tigers lost to Chelsea and to Man U. Nothing surprising, correct? Actually the surprise is the fact that Phil Brown's boys still managed to score three goals on the European Champions at Old Trafford. Now that's impressive! Hull will face Bolton at home and have a good chance to get back on track and impose their determined football on the Trotters. 

Everything Bolton fans were praying to happen last weekend backfired. And the last hope was Newcastle losing to Aston Villa but that didn't happen either and Bolton continued at the relegation zone. Well, the good, actually very good side of all this is that theTrotters did their part and beat the rich boys of Man City. Great job by those Superwhites! Now let's see if they can handle the Tigers the same way.

There we have it. Bolton reached the bottom. It was a matter of time for the Trotters to get to the relegation zone. And it's not that the team doesn't try hard. They do but the fact is that they are just not good enough. Now they will face a desperate Manchester City and it's not going to be easy. 

Red Alert for the Citizens. I'm sure all the fans wanted to see a lot more consistency from a club that spent so much money for this season. Man City clinched only 13 points so far. Half of the amount of points of the leader Liverpool and still seven behind 5th place Hull City. This is pitiful!

Bolton was able to do what eight other clubs couldn't do this season: LOSE TO THE SPURS. That by itself already qualifies the Trotters as strong candidates for the Championship next season. And the scenario is not good this week. If Newcastle beat WBA and Stoke City get at least a draw against Sunderland, Bolton will drop to the relegation zone.

And the Toffees are not in a much better situation either. They managed to draw against  Manchester United but Everton is still flirting with the bottom of the table. That's too little from a team that finished in 6th place last season.

GOBSMACK PREDICTION: Everton will improve their form and will beat the Trotters 0-2
