One hinted improvement or addition at least is said to be one Emiliano Viviano. Who he? The 22 year old, 6'5", Seria B, Brescia Calcio and Italian U21 goalie. Our scouts have watched him before and we are now watching him some more according to Spur Odious's Archibald. We want WHL a barrel roll free zone.
Interesting...
The word on forum FTL is that we've had an offer in for Berba... inexcess of £20 million...
David Villa would be a bloody marvelous signing, and probably as good a replacement for Berbs as we're ever likely to get. The goalie might be good, but we need experience to replace Robbo. Coupet on a free seems the most obvious bet. This other guy can be his backup, and one for the future.
Jonny ~ with you on that one. There is no reason I can think of that would prevent an announcement, not as if his club is embarking on a tournment and they want to keep the morale up.
I drew attention to the comment as it had what I'd call a 'genuine enough swagger' to it. Could obviously be a wind up.
What happened to Benhotspurs or whatever he called himself after the 'I met Joe Hart's dad at a party and he's signed' post on here?
He met Angelina Jolie in Tescos and is now riding off into the sunset.
Just watching the Euros opening ceremony.
It's A Knockout meets a shit advert for Sushi.
Well done everyone concerned for spending the the National Debt of a runaway nation and delivering something less spectacular than Cromer Carnival.
terrible gag, i hope you don't kiss your mother with that mouth
As much as I would love Villa to come to spurs its very true about the whole team of jockeys thing. Theres no way we would bring him in if Berbatov is on his way out as we won't have anyone up front who can win a header or beat a defender for height and strength.
Just seems a very doubrful signing at this point...and the rest of it is basic internet chatter anyway, nothing new.
BTW am I right to assume that all Yids will supporting our new home nation of Croatia?
wow H what can i say in shock i hope these deals go through.....
Sky sports reporting that Tottenham face a fight to keep Dimitar Berbatov at White Hart Lane as news of Milan's interest in the Bulgarian filters through from Italy....
If Milan are prepared to pay top wack, then I would be happy to see him go there as long as we have a top class replacement lined up. However I can't see them giving us £25m for him, this one could run and run.....
It would be somewhat ironic if he went there and we met them in the UEFA cup next year
excellent work TMWNN..
if Berba was to leave then the signing of Villa would certainly cushion the blow..
with (potentially) the size of our team one positive would be that we would be forced to play ground football..
'Little' David Villa is a top scorer, truly world class and i would welcome him with open arms. We don't really score that many headers anyway, infact we don't have anyway who can cross either. Whether Villa is actually coming, who knows? Until i see it on spurs website i'll treat this as excited rumours, but welcome all the same :)
It will interesting to see where Berba ends up, if indeed he leaves. For some unexplained reason I can't help but think his stock has lowered over the last year and whether the supposedly so called top clubs who were all drooling over him, now actually want him. Ironic if he does leave for Milan what with him wanting, or as his little oik of an agent said 'needing' Champions League football, lol.
At least we have some football to get us through the shyte summer TV that is BB, which the missus seems to love more than me :(
Park Lane For Life
If Berby goes to Milan he's a lying money hungry prick. They're not a CL team next season I really hope he stays with all our new signings he could really thrive up front. Our midfield with Modric in the middle and Gio on the wing looks 10 times more creative already and Lennon won't be our only real outlet anymore. Exciting times at WHL I just hope Berby sticks around because he's a special talent with the touch of a football genius.
Lol, Peter that's as fine an opening sentence as I've read...
Spanish press yesterday.
According to David Villa's agent, Jose Luis Tamargo, "The player is very happy in Valencia. We wish to grow with the club, and that the club is bigger each year". He added that there is an agreement between themselves and Valencia not to discuss Villa's future until after Spain's Euro 2008 campaign is over. "It is most convenient for both him and the squad". He made these comments after meeting another of his clients, Miguel Angel Angulo to discuss his situation at Valencia.
By pompey-fans.com. Diarra is going nowhere. That's the message from Pompey Chief Executive Peter Storrie as Spurs are reportedly interested in the France midfielder.
Just registered as I was excited by this news. If Berba does go (and hopefully to a European team), then Villa would be an excellent capture. Big keeper is also good news as I feel Robbo must go, but I agree our strike force would be a bit small for some of the more athletic Premiership teams. Still, skill will conquer all. Nice to put one over the Gooners - AGAIN : )
gud, dont want diarra anyway,he's not any good and vastly over-rated.and please 10mill?? NO THANX
i hope this comes off harry! i will not allow me self to get to excited until i see it on spurs site, thanks for info mate keep up the great work!!.
i watched opening game Czech vs Swiss what boring game i was falling sleep zzzzzzz.
so pleased that Portugal vs Turkey was great game, i won some money tonight :) got scores right.
this is how i see euro going!!
group A Portugal & Czech get trough
group B Germany & Croatia "
group C France & Italy
group D Spain & Russia
Germany vs France final i tip Germany to win it!
Definite smell of shite off this one H. Why would we pay 9 mill 4 Diarrea and Pomp take Kaboul for 5 mill? Why not just say Diarrea = Kab + 4 mill thanks. Why no fee quoted for Villa? Although 2 for TT sounds about right. If we manage to offload Jenius for another 5 or 6, it'll be a happy day.
I was all for bringing Diarra in, but I didn't realize how short our midfield would be, as they would all be under 5'10". I know Kaboul has a crap attitude, but I think he might make a much better DM than he does a CB, as he has a tendency to track forward, something CBs are really not supposed to do. Why not have the Hudd on when we are looking for some midfield creativity and slowly move Kaboul into the role of DM for when we need to buckle-down and hold a lead. Oh and please sell Zokora.
Diarra has played for almost every team in London and the South hasn't he? Sorry not for me! And Berbs to AC! Can't see it either.
all the talk has been about spurs announcing 3 major signings in one go..... VILLA, DIARRA, GOALKEEPER...... if they were going to make the modric, GDS, Bostock announcement then that waould have to have been done a long time ago!! Modric's signing was way ahead of the euro's just like whn we signed Berba. Its rhe board making a statement of intent before they go after the other main targets. The whole height thing could mean that with berba gone that Bent may get more of a chance to show us what he can do. ITS EXCITING TIMES TO BE A YIDDO!!!! COYS!!
HARRY KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK... I NEVER MISS A BLOG!
Not sure about all this. The Villa rumour has been around for a long time but as has been said if it's going to be him and Keano that means we ain't going to do much in the air and yes a tall striker does give you an extra option.
As for Berba, I think that's still pitched to go either way. If he goes it can only be for the Champions League stuff or mega wages. Are Milan, who aren't in the CL going to pay him any more than us ? Add to that the arrival of Modric and Dos Santos and surely staying put becomes more attractive.
Maybe Berbs is gonna sit on his couch and watch Euro Cup to see if Modric is all he is hyped up to be. Then he'll decide. What type of snack food do Bulgarians eat while watching football?
Scoring goals has never been our prob, so if Berbs goes Im confident that whoever comes in (even if its someone that we've never heard of or expected) will get a decent amount next season to go with Keane & Bents! What we really need is a top quality defencive centre mid, to do the dirty work and protect our flair players and defence! I'll only really start looking forward to next season when we have one in the bag, because without one we will struggle again!
i also cant understand why both clubs would keep david villa signing until after euro. this sounds like one of those too good to be true signings and usually, although i must say modrics signing was one of these too, they often show themselves as false when its time to put up or shut up. I dont know why every1 is bagging robbo though - a good player doesnt just become bad. yes he had a very bad season, so all that we need is a keeper that is as good as he WAS. this way robbo and the new keeper can compete for spurs number 1. no need to sell him. what do you guys think?
just so nobody freeks out my picture is the Ar5ena1 logo not the arse!!! i cant centre the bloody thing - Harry can you blast your mates for building a great profile page but when you try to center your pic it dont work...
Buahahaha,Berba is now deadwood at the lane. Even if he were to stay, he has had his best season at spurs, his heart left already. Bring in Villa, or put big tom upfront and teach him to finish. Just for fun....
" a good player doesnt just become bad."
Actually, you gooner, I disagree. GK's can go bad, as their game is more mental than any other position.
Er, Shacklebolt, our "gooner" already explained he isn't one! But I agree with you and therefore disagree with brizspur regarding goalkeepers. And Robbo is a bad one, has been for more than "just a season" too IMO.
Am I the only one to notice our "next game" is against Feyenoord on the 15th Feb 2007? Where's the Tardis? Perhaps Modric and co. could then lead us into Seville, and Ramos will then outwit himself with his tactical nous on the way to further UEFA Cup success. I trust he won't play Steed...
Are you sure? Did you see his gooner profile pic?
...
=P
Well if Berba's going, 25 Mill then, thanks very much!,I;m tired of this soap opera!!.
If Berba stays there is no way we will sign Villa, having those two and Keane in the same squad is a recipe for disaster as Ramos will struggle to keep them all happy. The only way I could see Villa fitting it would be to replace Keano, but is that the right thing to do to a man who loves spurs has pledged the remainder of his career to this club? I think not.
i would like to wish Robbie & Claudine a very happy life together!
i am so pleased he has scored off pitch as well
as on it she is one hot BABE!! CONGRATS!.
would love to see villa at the lane.. WITH Berba and WITH Keano.. maybe 3 up front.
i know its a bit of a risk in the prem, but a 3-4-3 .. might work.
the favoured formation when ramos was back at sevilla. did wonders
not going to happen i reckon we should go for a 4-5-1 with berba to spearhead. he has been brilliant when up front alone (man city cc and bolton) you could have keane and dos santos suppling. modic and jenas in the middle and the hudd spraying balls from the back. Woody, al and bale at the back.
now doesn't that sound like a tasty burger??
yeah, sounds good, but , isn't that more a 3-6-1 , or a 3-4-3 like i mentioned above.
+ where's the room for new players (hopefully villa)
nice one harry this is davspurs from widnes. Viller will be a thriller but we have had two small men before in defoe and keane unless we play from the back with short passes moderic and dos santos and.co otherwise its usless i think perky at 6ft six will come into the squad this year with danny rose.I cant wait for the season to start and the feynord tournament to start with all the speed in the team we will need to put slow motion on the telly to watch the cockerels. coys.
harry if this is true about villa
i will run down my street naked with a rose stuck between my arse cheeks .
Sounds like unsubstantiated drivel, smells like unsubstantiated drivel...

David Villa
Valencia director Juan Sanchez admits that David Villa's price tag will rise with every goal he scores at Euro 2008.
The Spanish hit-man grabbed a hat-trick during his country's 4-1 demolition of Russia in their opening Euro 2008 fixture on Tuesday.
His explosive start to the tournament has once again seen him linked with a host of Europe's top clubs, with Chelsea and Barcelona thought to be leading the race for his signature.
He looks destined to leave Los Che this summer, as the Primera Liga side's financial worries dictate that they will be required to reluctantly part with their biggest assets.
Villa certainly tops the list in the Mestalla sale and new Valencia boss Un
modric-villa-santos this would be so great.oohhh...igkukjfj sorry i just came on my keyboard

I came just thinking about the prospect of watching villa, modric, and dos santos at the lane next yr.
I'll have to see it to believe it and if its true then Berba has gone and how much have we really improved - if at all?
