Respected sources from within Anfield are indicating that the medical of the Pointy Pointy Pariah is imminent. Failing that, it will take place with the next 72 hours.
Given the clear statement from our Chairman and the ear splitting silence from our employee it seems unlikey that this info anything other than too wide of the proverbial mark.
What do you want me to say? You lot are divided. To some, Keane inspires 'he's dead to me' and to others it's, 'he'll always have a special place in my heart'. What I do know is that some folk maintain 'platonic and adult' relationships with their exes. And others amongst us, embrace change and move on.
The source which I quoted also added that "Doc Waller was back from Switzerland." Presumably this is transfer unrelated and merely coded instruction to an International gang of in-car stereo thieves.
PS: Oh yeah, Bob... Park Lane Nomad and I only want to help...
I'd flog this, it may become a target for the wrong element where you're going.
Although sorry to see him go I have to agree with your way of dealing with his departure Arry. He was a little underhanded and tactless. I will whole heartedly laugh when we beat the Pool to a champs league spot next year. A right kick in the b*ll*x for that tallaght Knacker. Nice side step Robbie!
PLEASE give the guy a break -
it's an opportunity for him to play champions league, he's always given 110% for us - it's sad to boo every player that wants to go, we're getting a decent fee so we should just wish him well and thanks him for his efforts for us.
we're getting a ridiculous amount of money for him, we all think he aint THAT good, personally i think bentley will prove a much better signing.
he's never sulked the way berbatov or chimbonda has, or slagged off the manager the way kaboul has, or run down his contract and left on a free to the dark side.
GOOD LUCK ROBBIE & THANKS FOR THE £20M
Jack!
Seriously. Liverpool aint no Galacticos. FAir dues they have a better history, but look at there past few seasons. Stale MATE.
WE are a team on the up. He is making a mistake. The problem is not the result of what he is doing but the way he is doing it.

the 15-20m muted is welcome but the manner in which the potential transfer has been handled is not! snidey pikey cnut!
was wondering who the snapper was out side the lion
If he's going or gone then what can we say??
Bob, I appreciate all you have done for Spurs, amongst your 100+ goals for us have been some absoulute belters and some amazing moments of skill and cheek in equal measure. I'll never forget seeing you put Boulharouz on his arse as you crossed for Lennon to send us 2-1 up against Chavski. Your goal against Arsenal in the CC semi final or your goal against Blackburn two years ago. And finally the way you celebrated when we won the Carling Cup. You were on your way to being a true WHL legend and part of me is very sad to see you go.
That said, it will be you who regrets the move north. You will be back up to Torres, you'll have Benitez trying to play you as a winger (ask Dirk Kuyt) and you'll endlessley have to put up with Benitez's tinkering, chopping & changing. Yes, you'll get your wish to play in the Champions League btu it won't tast as sweet as you haven't earned it. At Spurs you would have. So liverpool fans are loud and proud? so they sing you'll never walk alone? You will never experience another electric european night at WHL or the kind of support you recieved at any point when you were at spurs.
You could of been a legend, but you've shown yourself to be a weasel. And for that I wish you luck with gritted teeth and when your new club meets us in any competition prepare for the wonderful support you once gleaned to turn on you in spades!
So long Bob.
I for one cannot give him my blessing.
If in the terms of it being your bird - then it would be like a 2 way loving 6 year relationship with a great sex life, and marriage on the cards, to be dumped 2 weeks later for an uglier, northern bloke with the promise of exciting weekends away in top European destinations!
Slag.
playing champions league? well sort. I guess playing the last 15 mins from the bench does count doesnt it. But knowing how he hates being a sub and/or subbed, i just cant understand why he would go there. The scouse only play one up front (torres) with one in behind ( perfect !! oh, but no thats gerrard ) so why robbie, why ???
If he never said 6 weeks ago and I quote:
"I love this club and want to spend the rest of my career here" then yes, I would have said thanks for the 6 years and great, great goals, but I can't. The guy has let us down and for that, I hope his "career" at the bin dippers is filled with hours on the bench, moaning like Keane can and generally being very fucking unhappy.
Not bitter or anything...
Billy Nick, that was yours truly. Mr Keane likes to eat at the ironically named restaurant not 20 feet from this location.
I always have little respect for footballers character and even less for their grey matters.
This is just another case.Keane f*** OFF...
Not only you didn't keep your word, you insulted the club by choosing a supposedly "bigger" club who is living on their edge financially.
Stupid bastard.... can't wait to keep Liverpool out of the top 4 and we will.
All this vented anger is theraputic. Like a good AA meeting. 12 steps to getting over a knive in the back from your cheating ex.
1st day sobriety badges anyone?
It will be all the sweeter when we finish higher in the league than the scouse scum
to DingDongDes..... 1 if u were offered in ur current job at a top 4 company wud u take it (yes) wud u take more money ( yes) get a grip an with reailty,he was loyal to us an gave all if he wants cl that hes decision nothin bad about tottenham jus a footballing issuse, im sure spurs fans (genunine) dont think we can crack top 4 yet, an callin him names like that jus proves ur prob a british fuckin yob an not a true spurs fan
Sorry but Rafa the gaffa is no fucking genius and I'd just love to finish above those fucking bin dippers. Those bin dippers who think it's their god given right to win everything...c*nts!
Whatever you think of Keane himself, this (if the price is indeed 18-20m) is bloody good business for us. Keane has been made to look better than he is because of Berbatov. Torres is not as creative as Berbatov and Keane will be found out. For the same money, we could get Arshavin, who's much better or Huntelaar who's much much better.
Aye, 20mil(ish) for a guy of 28 isn't bad. Just hope we buy someone bloody good and not waste it like we've done on countless occasions...
Childish I know but cannot wish him well after him proffesing his love of everything yid a couple of months ago! Yes we have had six years and yes he gives 100% but for three to four of those years he was not first choice and we could have sold him down market. It feels like your, so so girlfriend who you've been with for a while and you've turned down a few oppertunities along the way, has just developed into a beauty and now she is running off with your best mate, O and she wants you to be happy for her! Berbatov doesn't feel as bad you always new he was a tart, if a sugar daddy came along he was always going to go and never said otherwise. As previously stated, completly irrational but now looking for a good picture of our CCwin with out keane onit to have as my screen saver, cannot stomach my existing one.
It seems that most spurs supporters loved Robbie as Mr Spurs but the deadly silence that HH refers to here shows that this was just bull.Yes also he has scored some absolute corkers but am I the only spurs fan that also watched him time after time go one on one with keepers only to score like 15% of the time? Do not be upset that he is going and as TMG says, look at a better replacement in smoothbum or fingers soooooo tightly crossed, Huntelaar
Cheers, quiet at the library.
I have only ever hated one man for leaving Spurs and that man was S*l Cam*bell. And I still fucking hate him more than anything.
Keane leaving hurts because of all the things he has said, all the times he reiterated his desire to be a yid for life. His is a story of betrayal. And the more i think about it the more pleased i am that he is going. Borat is right, how many times did we see keane one-on-one only to miss or hit the keeper, how many times did we see him get too wound up in arguing with the ref that he didnt concentrate on the game?? TOO MANY!
At liverpool he will be benched, a bit part player. The one thing we know about Keane is that he needs a run in the side to hit form. At pool he wont get that. Benitez will have him playing anywhere but up front. Pool play with one up top, how many times have we seen Keane play well as the lone man?? NEVER!
Pool have just signed themselves £20m of lying, weasel featured waste. eez not rat ezz weasel!!
That said part of me is still sad to see him go.
Personally I only keep touch with my exes in case the chance of a drunken shag rears its head. What's the relevant comparison in this situation???
harry, did any one from sky contact you? was chatting to a guy from sky the other day about berba and old red nose, and said that the alledged quote had come from a united supporters group in norway and that i read about it on your site, so was wondering if they had contacted you? as the guy's jaw nearly hit the ground and after picking it up said they would look into it? bad jurno i thought as it proved that what ever united say sky believe???
im pissing myself with laughter at the news that the mancs have told their fan site in scandanavia to take the blame for those quotes. it's funny because they as well as their fans still think that is the only thing we are complaining about or have evidence for. Levy used the quotes as evidence for the quotes of hypocracy towards Fergie, but the uneducated drunken twat thinks thats what the accusations for so they think they ar being clever by getting their official supporters site to take the blame. This just keeps getting better and better.
Keane has been anything but loyal! He said not long ago he wanted to stay with for the res of his career'but first chance he gets to prove his loyalty he wants to fuck off!!
Good riddance I say.
Sorry about spelling mistakes i knew i should have listened more in english at school
I actually think that we should sell Keane (because it's good business), replace him with Huntelaar (even Fred would be better than Keane if we need the big money for Capel) and force Berbatov to stay. If ManUtd can accept Ronaldo staying (and let's agree that Ronaldo has been far more vocal than Berba about wanting to leave), why can't we keep Berba? Even when he plays half-heartedly, he's our best player. With support from Modric, Capel and Lennon (or Bentley) and playing behind someone like Huntelaar, he could end up liking it at WHL. He's not really been loyal but would you be if the club asked you to play ahead of a midfield like we had last year?

Aye. I sit in the south lower and I can't remember which game it was last season but when Keane had scored, he raced down the shelf, fist clenched and the other hand on the Spurs crest. I was honestly close to tears; I just felt at the time that I was watching someone write their name in the spurs hall of legends and I was there. Hmmm oh well...
For one, I pity him.
He has thrown away the chance of being an all-time legend to snatch at big wages and CL substitute appearances.
Thanks for the goals, drama, hard work and leadership Robbie, but you're now officially a fool in my eyes.
I don't really know how I'm gonna feel when Robbie officially leaves. It still boggles my mind that he would want to leave. Sure he gets Champions League football, but for how long? Liverpool is a team on the decline and he's leaving a situation where he is captain and pretty much idolized...doesn't he realize he's going to be just another guy at Anfield???
Robbie Keane was average until Berba came and stole the limelight. Also his record against the top 4 is very poor, think he was only involved in one victory over the scum. He may be Ireland's top goal scorer but he is disliked by the vast majority because he should have twice as many goals.
I often wondered whether he was THE forward for us. he is regularly out of position, dummys that never come off, pointy, shouty. The odd bit of magic. Little pace.
If Ramos really wanted him he would be staying such is the lenght of his contract. It is my opinion Harry that Ramos knows excactly what he is doing and wants to have a more direct centre forward, maybe Bent will get his deserved chance (4-5-1)
Robbie's character will always be loveable and for those reasons alone he will go down as a Spurs legend in time. But he was not as good as player as our meloncholy may suggest.
In Ramos We Trust!
Can't believe the deal we supposedly struck out with the scousers...18mil plus 2mil if they win the CL or Premiership ?Isn't that a slap on own face if that happens ?
Hope that's not true, lets just make them pay up the 20mil in cash right away...Can you imagine Man U telling Real Madrid for add on's if Ronaldo win things for them ?
If we show any ambition, we should never stoop that level

I third that argument!! A new rivalry has spawned!!
I think we should of gone for Alonso. But Ramos knows best. I think Bent deserves his chance and i'm pretty sure that Keane would not of been sold from under Ramos' nose.
I see Spurs going hunting for signings now Bob the knob is gone.
Believe it when I see it. The scousers are skint, they wont pay £20m. Just wait and see - they'll try to make some stupid bid at the last minute and the whole thing will fall through. And Keano will fall back in love with Spuyrs, and blame the media for misquoting him. I notice he played in both Spurs' pre-season games, so he's not exactly being wrapped in cotton wool ahead of a big-money transfer, is he.

Im actually Irish living in spain (take from that what you want) but by no means a YOB.
I have a firm grip on reality and on what pisses me off. I don't begrudge anyone a step up. Operable word being UP!
I take it to heart when a player I admire and loved filled my head with promises and devotions only to turn and F*ck off when someone else showed an interest. He is a knacker, I stand by that. And like I said earlier its not what he is doing it is the way he is doing it. Stinks of a Pikey selling a 3 piece suite. I just not feeling it!
I have a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach that we are still going to have at least one of the bulgarian and irishman at the start of september.....
Archie
If its Berba we still have then we will have the better of the footballer of the two!!
I would love for Berba to stay and give his all for us. However,,,,,, I have already made my peace with his departure and i realise that Berba would never give his all for anything!!
Firstly - Learn to spell & how to use grammar.
Secondly - Pool are a team in decline
Thirdly - Keano won't improve the liverpool side
Fourth and final point - Fuck off.

I'm not sure I agree with this - Berba has worked his socks off in games - e.g., remember the game v-s Bolton when we were down to 10 men? He has become pissed off also with the lack of ambition shown at Spurs - hell, we finished 5th and then brought lots of crap and his frigging midfield support was Malbranque (top guy, played out of position), Jenas (f*cking aweful), Zokora (useless) and Lennon (grossly out of form) - who wouldn't get pissed off playing with this lot week in, week out. If Ramos goes out and adds Capel and Bentley (or Joaquin) to Modric, Berba will be happier after a couple of months. He's one of the best players we've had in the last 20 -25 years, we should keep him, like ManUtd are trying to keep Ronaldo.
i've been reading from this website for slightly over a year n never left a message... if it happens... i'll be absolutely bloody devastated... but i'm still hoping..praying that robbie comes out n apologizes to the club n fans saying he should have never had his head turned...He's spurs thru n thru and wants to stay..
The more i think about it, the more it pisses me off. As far as teddy was concerned, he went to manure with my blessing, and came home a hero. shame he aint got a job at the lane yet, still there`s time for that yet. anyway, Pikey twat keano can fuck right off now, he has gone from being potentialy one of the all time greats at the lane, to nothing more than a turncoat wanker, like gay boy sol camp bell. Berby should be told he has got to stay. We own the fucker, and if he gets his act together he can have his champions league football. With us at the lane!
If he goes, I for one would be completely gutted.I have a irrational feeling that perhaps this "Cone of Silence" (See new Get Smart Movie) is an indication that he may not go at all.I feel he is watching what happens to Berbatov. He will be then what he used to be...the big fish in the WHL pond.
However if he does go, I would like to staple his spurs contract to his head in the same manner as the movie mentioned above.
Don't do it Robbie!
For £20m I'd drive him up there! A guy who openly admits he's getting old and has also said recently that he has trouble doing his celebration because of his age...... It's a fricking demented cartwheel and a roly fecking poly. I do more than that out of the pub at closing time!
Get rid Levy, you know it makes sense.
I hope there's as much truth in this story as in most of the other imminent happening stories that you've been posting over the summer HH. Whilst Keane is not irreplacable, it's perfectly obvious the likes of Manure and Liverpool are trying to cherry pick out best players. This shows not only the progress we've made but also the divide created by the cash rich Champions League - the priveleged top 4 will do anything to protect their position and this includes trying to pick off potential rivals like ourselves. So we should just say NO to both approaches to keane and Berbatov - we gave both players a break in their career so any departure should also be at a time that suits us & to a club that suits us i.e. not manure or liverpool. We let Carrick go far too easily imo so enough is enough.By extension we should also include Robbie's namesake at Sunderland - so no squad players to Sunderland! -who imo as had some influence in turning Robbies head. The fact is any MANURE or even ex Manure look down their noses at us as do scousers. We' d look ridiculous letting them go especialy after letting Defoe go in January. Both players have got a few years on their contracts so just ignore the wads of money. We can still bring n an additional striker to provide competition up front but please let's stop behaving as if they are already off - if Keanes having a medical in 72 hours then presumably someone will see him at an airport coming back from Spain ? Do you have any such tangible proof Harry ?
Rather than making a complaint about Rafa, we should be sending him a bunch of red roses. 18m for Mr Pointy Finger Short Legs is fantastic business. If our ambitions are 5th place and a cup run, then Keano is our man,but if the aim is higher, we need someone with more pace, less arm-waving, and the discipline to remember what position they actually play in. Keano has been a great servant, but his time is up and we have to trade in for a better model. I for one, salute you Mr Rafa.
i too am very disapointed how both rafa and robbie have gone about this, as a player though i find keane replacable, is there such a thing as a world class striker that cant finish in one on one situations.....heard mixed reviews regarding pekhart so i for one would like to see huntelaar/milito and bent and if we are a little short up front till january then so be it...
robbie is my altime fav player and i am sad to see him leave ...
this is due to ramos and co unfortunately they run the club differently to the martin jols favs and this has obviously upset him and he feels liverpool can offer him more,,,, NOT ,,,
HE WILL ROT ON THE BENCH UNDER BENITEZ AND WIN FECKALL
No wonder some fans feel bitter, we’ve been cheated on and have only recently found out that despite our fruitful long-standing relationship, Pointy-Shouty bloke (who said he wanted to grow old with us, together) has, the whole time been 'courting' with football’s Lilo Lil.
I am wholeheartedly disappointed in Bob's departure - a near certainty following Levy's recent statement, which renders his position virtually untenable. [It occurs whether this was a little rash (at this point in time) on Levy’s part, although it is easy to appreciate why he didn’t want to be held to ransom or used to lever the player a better deal elsewhere.]
It is mildly depressing to learn of Keane’s true character and, perhaps, also surprising of the player who always presented himself as an honest and conscientious broker: only offered restrained celebrations when he scored against his previous clubs, etc, and recently spoke positively about his and our club's future, and Ramos.
In my opinion he has let everyone, including himself, down. I won’t be cheering his departure, nor his return.
Keane has shown his true colours and they’re not ours.

to that Harry, bit harsh on the boy but made me smile. In an ideal world we should tell Muncs and Spools of this world to sod off, truth is if they want off then drain the yanky cnuts of every penny and get some quality in.....and effin quick
Look, we can manage, Gordon Durie had a decent season last, and if he can continue, who'll call the name Lineker? Having said that I'm still sad to see him finishing his career at a team called Grampus 8!
Get rid of Levy?
Are you sure, Daniel Levy is doing a fine job and you cannot knock bar how he dealt with Jol that was unprofessional.
Keane, well I am more than disappointed! why? purely at the end of season he said I love this club I want to stay here till....
What's the difference between Sol and Keane in terms of dumping Spurs and saying one thing and meaning the other..
to be honest villa/keane.... not bad...
Keane can leave but when he comes back to the lane.... what will be the reception??
£20m good price for someone good but not world class....
I dont think his national manager telling him to leave Spurs constantly helped - I used to like Trapattoni - perhaps he is bitter at Spurs not giving him a job ... beyond that after the pain there might be the odd good memory left. I have spent the last two weeks in Moscow seeing all these kids in chelski strips, if we bought the two russians, we would change that and be a target for every oligarch in sight ... is that the Levy strategy? Sadly, the russian press either don't rate our chances of signing either of them and in most cases dont mention Spurs at all!

This just goes to show that money talks. When players come out saying how they love their club should we really believe them?? Very few players these days actually mean them words and in Robbie's case it was a crock of crap. The lure of a bit extra cash,(when lets face it they dont really need it)rears its ugly head they are off like a shot. The difference between Robbie and Berba is Berba has never pledged his future to N17. All there is left to say to Robbie is LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a footballer says to passionate fans should be written on the wind and the running water.
No I wasn't in fact.
I am well aware that there is no point keeping players who no longer are comitted to the club and that given the right price it might be a good idea to cash in & get other talented players who are willing and available...
However, I think a Torres/Keane partnership would do wonders for Liverpool as would a decent striker for Manure. So my gut instinct says resist any such offers or at least sell to someone else preferably abroad
- I also said we should be seeking to get another striker as well.
n.b. a couple of weeks ago Gus Poyet was saying that Keane & Berbatov were central to our plans ( especially after having sold Defoe ) - are you suggesting that he too was dropped on the head as a baby ?
What Robbie said just few months ago was boll**ks. Even if his move falls through I (as a big Spurs fan for over 25 years) will have lost all respect for him. What Spurs fans need to remember is that Robbie has took everyone for ride thinking Spurs fans will forget that before Spurs he was an unwanted trouble maker, and I think he should repay us with a little bit of loyalty, rather than insulting his greatest fans for last few years with blatant lies.

C.O.Y.S., that's the best bloody news - Alonso is exactly what we need. Next season: should then be:
Gomes
Bale, King, Woodgate, Hutton
Capel, Alonso, Modric, Bentley
Berbatov
Huntelaar
Keane (extra 5m on top of Alonso), the Sunderland quartet (23m) and some other players (Robinson, Jenas, Rocha, Gardner, Lee, Assou-Ekotto, Stalteri, Ghaly - conservatively 22m) can finance the cost of Capel (15m), Bentley (15m), Huntelaar (16m) and a reserve keeper (1m). This is top 4 and better than what Liverpool will have after buying Keane and Barry. The cover will also be quite good:
Defence: Gilberto, Gunter, Dawson, Dervitte, O'Hara, Zokora, Huddlestone
Midfield: Zokora, Huddlestone, Taarabt, Danny Rose, O'Hara, Lennon
Forward: Bent, Pekhart
We should have kept Malbranque though.
anyone heard from Shaun Custis of the super soaraway? After all, he started this shit storm.
I have always said that Defoe playing with confidence was a far better player than Keane. Even more gutted we sold him now!
As one alleged boyhood dream (Keane to Pool) begins another ends.
Amid the noise of Berbagate and Robbiegate several Spurs players appear to be moving quietly to the gate which sees them exit the club. Among them is Spurs fan Teemu Tainio.
Teemu wasn't the most gifted of footballers for us, but he was tenacious and his heart was true. I'll always remember him in the Carling Final when, in the final moments, he delayed taking a throw-in to point Joe Cole's attention to the minutes ticking down on the clock. He earned a yellow card for his cheek, but I marked him as a hero then.
His departure won't cause the same reverberations that other, bigger names will: no time to weep for roses when the forests are burning.
But I, for one, salute you, Teemu.

I feel I am some what to blame for the Keane saga. A few years back when i was a juinor spur the captain of tottenham stopped by my school for a day. Naturally, going to a school in central London, most of my peers were Man United fans and so the presence of a captain from a london team meant nothing. I had every spurs thing i had owned including shirts, posters and my season ticket. later that year the captain said how much he loved the club, he would never go anywhere and was going to b offered a juicy contract. He later moved to a club from south london who had recently moved into the north, some know them as "scum". I didn't get anything signed again until recently when Robbie Keane came into my local tesco. I was wearing full spurs garb being fresh from a kick about. It was four days before the carling cup final, i had my ticket from the 5-1 still in my pocket, i presented it to him, he signed it. I have come to realise that if i get a spurs player to sign something, they leave the club, again apoligies.

Fine words to recognise a good, honest pro at our club. I will miss TT as well.
My favourite memory of him will be his strike against the geordie barcodes on new year's eve 2006 (in the game Owen did his foot / ankle). Quality left foot strike from the edge of the box at Park Lane end into bottom corner after about 10 mins.
I also offer my thanks to Teemu.

As ever mate you is spot on.
Keano may or may not be remembered as a legend but Teemu methinks will, especially on this blog. I am also sad (and more than a little surprised) to see Steeed go. Never seemed to give up and gave of his all.
Ironic that whilst the Berbman and Robin can't get away quick enough two players who seem to care are deemed surplus to requirements.
Interesting to see if THEIR replacements measure up.

Well done for owning up and if Modric offers you his autograph tell him to fuck off.
If you played at Aston Villa an had a chance to move to spurs, would you stay there and become a "legend" or would you move to spurs. That's Keane's Dilemma and we should respect him for choosing the club he has supported from his youth.

Berbatov

Keane (extra 5m on top of Alonso), the Sunderland quartet (23m)...

it seems that everyone is going stir crazy in silly season. The sooner this is all sorted, the better for all concerned. Sure its hard to imagine PSB or Berba in Pool and Manure shirts respectively, but in time we will move on.
I'm looking forward to the new season, i honestly believe Bent is gonna finally get a chance to 'earn his spurs' (see what i did there) and we have a unique opportunity now to move forward with a squad that is united in the common purpose...
Liverpool are stagnating and the Scum have lost several key players recently. Any one of a number of the chasing pack could make things interesting this year. I'm also hoping that some of the youngsters get a chance to break through- the likes of Gunter, Peckhart and Dos Santos especially.
Ramos is building a team for the future, i just hope that he is given the time to see it through. The jol affair was handled badly, but we can all admit that he was unlikely to bridge the gap. Ramos has the requisite savvy and we will be stronger in August despite all of the 'excitement'. Just look at how happy and healthy the boys look.

Genius!
been reading all your comments, and personally i think Robbie has also made a big mistake, of course if he wins the CL final with the pool, and torres (i think he could link well with torres, rafa would make space for him behind torries, or wing). Over time though if the link up doesnt work, then yes he could be subbed and benched a lot, and he will get fustrated and wish he had never left. It could work for him though, he wants more, he wants Champions League, I guess he's thinking I have 3 to 4 years left of my career, and I have never played in it, and want the experience before I hang me ol boots up, plus if I can get a final medal how good would that be. I say good luck to him, pity he couldnt be a true legend with us, but I admired him as a player and respect him still for his effort for the club. We can replace him, and still have a frikkin brilliant season, take the cash and get some quality replacements who can be exciting for the club, and work with our new look midfield - I for one cant wait for the next season!! Bring it on!
Now I have had time to calm down and think about it properly, I think it is good business. He is now 28 and lets just say in 2 more seasons and wether or not we get champions league theres no way we could fetch 20+ mil for a 30 year year old. As for berbacock he was always going so fuck it. I personally respect Danny boy for standing up to the northern scum but let it go, do buisness and move on with new players....after all I dont think we were squeaky clean with whole Ramos affair. Bring on the new season, bring on the new system, bring on the new players.....BRING IT ON YOU CUNTS..
"I won’t be cheering his departure, nor his return."
Well said Chirpy, any cheering should be reserved for players who want to play for the club.
Some of you lot pay your money, so that pretty much entitles you to do and say what you like, I'll be saving all my jeers for the real Judas though.

See this entry you posted on 8 June 2007 - LINK . It concerns rumours of a Growler-Berbatov connection. I can't find the original source you got the information from. The Bulgarian website it refers to doesn't offer an English version, so I couldn't search its archives.
Point is, Levy's dossier comprises evidence (we're told) going back over a year. Your original post was approximately a year ago. The recent article in The Sun is a red herring. The Norwegian article is smoking. But the article you referred to in June last year was hot.
News? The site which H refers to as odious is reporting that a fee has been agreed for Arshavin and that a Milito deal is close at 12m euros
Love to see arshavin and santa cruz coming with albelda think this would all be good signings and maybe capel .We could then put a team of Gomes King Woodgate Hutton Albelda modric Santos/Capel Arshavin Bentley/Lennon Bent/Cruz.This would putthe pressure on huddleSTONES to loose some more and try harder and jenas to be more consistant.Would also like to see Gunter given a shot at holding midfield and Tarrabt given some more starts .What a team we would have.
Lads... see the following from Spurs Odyssey.. anyone know what to make of it or if it holds any truth...?
Spurs Odyssey can announce that as has been reported Spurs and Zenit St. Petersburg have agreed a fee for ace Russian striker/creator Andrei Arshavin. It is understood that the player is considering the move at the present time, but still needs to be convinced about coming to Spurs.
It also looks as if the deal to bring Argentinean striker Diego Milito from Real Zaragoza will succeed, with a fee in the region of 12 million Euros being suggested.
?????????
"as has been reported"
a fee has been agreed?
where is that then? i just tried google news and bbc etc, no one else has reported either of these stories as tied-up deals. By which i mean agreed fees. Of course personal terms can be the biggest stumbling block in any case but there seems to be no new news on these deals..............
thus far
Arshavin brilliant player...Bale one of my favs...but wouldn't like to go rowing with Burt Reynolds Knowing those two were somewhere out there!!!
What B'tov & Keen-no say to passionate fans should be written in the stream of my first piss of the morning.
Does wondering whether the percieved success of Dimi & Rob being partly due to their ability to drop into midfield areas and supply the creative talent so sorely lacking and therefore embellishing our appreciation of them to levels which as pure goalscorers they wouldn't otherwise attain, mark me out as; a)alone in my thoughts. b)Bitter and twisted. c)A quisling.
15 goals each in the league is no great shakes; the rest were scored in cup games. A majority of our league cup goals were scored by defenders & midfielders. Our front men scored more frequently in the Uefa cup against lesser opposition.
45 mil? Now let me think...........
This is far from done yet! The medical is in two parts and the finacial arrangements have hit a major snag.......
The medical has to both assess his fitness, but also more importantly is the strict regime of innoculations required to boost the immune system required to live and work in heart the of bin-dip-central. Typhoid, Tetanus, diptheria, Polio and TB are just the first round with further injections against the sort of stuff the X-files hinted at.
The financial arrangements also hit a glitch when RK was told of the cost of insuring his car(s) in Englands city homage to the "thierd wierld". It seems more than half the increase in wages goes directly to insurers to cover the daily cost of a new set of wheels and paying someone to remove the four small piles of bricks.
Rafa Benitez refused to comment beyond hinting that compensation for the finacial hit might in some way be mitigated by favours his sister is known to provide, but Keane's new wife is insistent that there be a cash paynment to cover the extra shopping required to replace handbags and mobile phones that disappear from coffee shop tables every time someone drops a spoon.
That tosser would ve pissed off at any point if a big four club had come in for him with a serious offer. Cant believe some people will be sad to let him go now. Take the money and forget him . He could ve been a legend. Now no one will remember him in London or liverpool in 10 years.

Let cooler heads prevail. Alot of talk of this that and the other, which is making my head spin. The only thing we know for sure, as of today, is that the dynaminc duo of Berba and Keano are still ours (for now) and to be honest, there's no where for them to go. El Nino, Kyut and Alonso are staying put (Liverpool aint spending the $$$ either), Konte Ronaldo Kinte isn't going anywhere, I can't see Berba playing 2nd fiddle to anyone at Man U; so....... with a stronger back 4, and exciting midfield (although I am sorry to hear about Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed), more competition between the sticks, let not your hearts be troubled. I have to believe everything is goig to be OK, Arry is driving me crazy. Am I livig in denial???
I've got to agree with Jack...keano has given 150% to spurs and a very dedicated and commited player which is hard to find in modern days football and he is one of a few players in that category...let him go in peace
Are we all that blind - there are two parts to this 1) there is a possible offer from his boyhood team, that wasn't around when he made comments re: his current club in May - Robbie hasn't lied and 2) the only comment about Robbie potentially wanting to leave for Liverpool has come from the great PR engine known as Daniel Levy and the Official THFC website.
Two weeks ago most of us loved Keano, and now suddenly you all hate him, think he's a turncoat etc - why the change? Have you thought that maybe the board got an attractive offer they wanted to accept (the kinda of money being mentioned sounds like good business) - but maybe they thought that there would be massive fan unrest if we sold our "player of the year" - the spin came out in one official announcement (keano probably hasn't been allowed to speak to the press about it) and probably Robbie is being helped on his way.
Fair play to Keano - great servant, frustrating to watch at times - and probably replacable for the money we'll be getting. Berba is more difficult to replace imo.
Think back to Judas's departure and maybe this will make you rethink where to direct your anger. Leave Robbie out of it.

hey - listen. In the modern game there are very few "real men". We all USED to love Keano because we thought he was real. He was settled at Spurs - he never has been anywhere else. he pledged his allegiance to Spurs, WAS our leader in essence and now? hold on it's Liverpool his boyhood team! Do we forgive him ? Not a chance. He has let the fans down, the club and himself. He should be ashamed and I REALLY hope he achieves very little with L'pool. I am so disappointed, so dejected, so betrayed I am almost not sure who I would want to win in an Arsenal v L'pool match.
This is not worse than Judas but it's really close.
Shame he's Irish - the Irish people I know are respectable, reliable, loveable, trustwothy, honest and men of their word. People should check his heritage - he can't be Irish.
Robbie my friend: You have sold us down the river. The club you love. You lying deceiving b*st*rd. ROT IN HELL.
I'm amazed anyone is surprised at Keane's fickleness. After Campbell's betrayal I vowed never to believe the loyalty crap spouted by any of these mercenaries again. Don' kid yourselves guys - it's all about the cash and the profile. The only true believers are us - the fans. We don't ask for transfers when other teams are successful. We stick with one team - changing is not an option. Let the greedy little Mick move on....let it go. He has simply proved that he is no different to the rest
I say...
"Fuck Keane, fuck him in his little ass!"
I'm glad I got that off my chest (although if I had a chest like my avatar, I wouldn't have noticed that I had anything on it at all).
Wow what a horrible place to live look at the state o the place in the photo. No wonder Robbie wants to move to th capital of culture.
Comparing Keano to Camp Bell is completely ridiculous.
Sad he wants to go but he's been a terrific player for us...end of.
I seem to remember him not completing his old six gun goal celebration when scoring against Leeds for us. So he obviously is a far more decent and respectful human being than some of you lot.
It's also worth comparing Bob with Steeeeed and Teeemu. They have given their all for our club but Tottenham have no compunction in shipping them to the far North.
How dare you talk of Royal Hertfordshire that way! In other news, Fergie has pulled another blinder out..... "it was the accent guv, honest" Quite what sounds like "Berbatov" in a Scottish accent is beyond me, maybe he wanted to end the interview and was threatening the use of a petrol bomb.

The photo is of London's famous 'Liverpool World' it opened the early part of 96 and has had 400,000 visitors.....although 398,000 of them were drunk scousers..looking for their dealer! The other two visitors were Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard - who spent over 4hrs there holding hands and whiping Nutella from the corners of each others mouths.....
i totally agree with Jamiespur. RK has given us some magical moments, especially in the past 2 seasons, he had become Mr Tottenham and his comments at the end of last season (he loved Spurs, was settled, wanted to end his career at WHL, would stay until told he is not wanted etc) just reafirmed that.
What I find absolutely gutting is the ease with which he changed his mind. He might say that he has been loyal with +6 yrs service but Spurs have done more for RObbie than he has done for us. His level of performance has not always been brilliant, he has been frustrating and brilliant in equal measures. He had already had 3 or 4 clubs by the time we signed him aged 22yrs. We gave him a place where he was wanted, trusted him, made him captain and many fans were ready to offer him legendary status and THEN the first offer from a "Big 4 club" and he is off without a word to the fans.
I also think he is making the wrong move....he could be numero uno at WHL but instead he is going to be part time striker, part time winger, part time bench warmer at LFC. Benitez will never play 2 stirkers in the big games, more likely to play 3 DMs. Last season Keane took 7 games to get off the mark, the season before 11. Not sure LFC fans & Rafa would put up with that.
I am not the booing sort, I reserve my abuse of ex-spurs for only one man. But at this moment in time I would find it hard to welcome RK back at WHL with cheers/applause. He has turned his back on us, perhaps I will do the same when he next steps out at WHL with his tracksuit on (ready for an afternoon of bench warming).

Agree with u mate. I dont think I could ever boo keano. I'm just gutted that the man has proved himself to be a weasel of the highest order.
What I'm struggling to get my head round is that he appeared to love Spurs. I mean the guy was in floods of tears when we won the Carling Cup, tears of joy and pride it looked like. How can a man that showed that much pride and passion for his club turn round and just walk away from the club that made him who he is.
He like u said was a drifter when we signed him, we took him in, gave him a home, offered him shelter from the shitstorm that was Leeds Utd. Over time he became an integral part of the club. Personally I never used to rate him over Defoe until about 2years ago but in those two years he has completely changed my mind. I couldn't see a Tottenham without him.
And this is how he repays us? I'm very sad to see him go but I know that he has made the wrong choice. A choice he will very much regret when Benitez has him playing on the wing or even better.... on the bench!!
I'm actually alot more upset about losing Steed. The man gave everything for us. At times last season I thought he looked like the only one who cared. An honest hardworker, versatile, a goal threat from midfield. Losing players like Steed and to some extent Tainio will be sadder than losing a weasel like Robbie!
Can't believe he is leaving, i'm more upset than when Jol got the sack. hate to say it but i might have to boo him when he comes back to the lane.
"Personally I never used to rate him over Defoe until about 2years ago"
When was it Berbatov signed for us?
oh i could boo keano. without doubt.

You'll never walk alone - my a***. As Half Man Biscuit would sing:
"Sign on with no hope in your heart, when you walk through a storm you get wet" -
v sad to see Bobby going - but there must be better (why was he substituted so much at the end of the season - maybe that was the start??
Anybody seen interview with Ferguson in todays Mail. Nicely sidesteps one question.
SAF: I'm trying to see whether someone can break in(Top 4) but I just can't see anyone.
DM:WELL, if you keep buying Tottenham's best players they certainly won't!
SAF:There seem to be a lot of changes at Tottenham. They seem to be selling four or five players and all that.
Personally I could'nt care less if Keane goes, never really rated him anyway. Ok so he has had a great couple of seasons but it can't be a coincidence that this coincided with the arrival of Berbatov. I just think on to many occasions Keane tries to do something flashy when there was a safer and easier option, I know it looks great when he pulled off a bit of showboating but i don't think i'm wrong when saying more often than not he gave the ball away and then stood around waving his arms and complaining at his teammates/ref or whoever was closest. Now, if the scouse fuckers want to give us £20m then i think we should bite there hands off it's good business and im sure we can get a better replacement for that kind of money. By all rights Keane should be my favourite player i'm an Irish Yid need i explain any further? But he has just never done it for me so good luck Robbie hope it all goes wrong and YOU WILL REGRET LEAVING. As for Berbatov and more impotantly Mr Levy I don't see how after his comments that he could then go ahead and do business with Manure surely this would be hypocritical.
During this period of rumination on the Furious Bob saga, do you know what this puts me in mind of?
Gerrard to Chelsea in 2005. This deal was practically done and dusted, and what stopped him going to the Bridge? His home club basically pulling out a last ditch equivalent of me dropping to my knee and desperately whipping out a ring while the missus stands at the door as the cabbie loads her suitcases up.
Stevie G then turns around and says: I just wanna be wuvved, the deals off, and the grumbling cabbie starts unloading the cases.
The trouble I have with this scenario, is that six weeks ago, Furious Bob basically came out and said cut me and see lilywhite pour out. Now Anfield's Peter Kay has come a'knockin' with all the timeliness of a pantomime villain, and Ramos has entered stage right to requite the love with responses like:
'For the moment [Keane is] with us but...our plan is to have a good squad...better than last year.'
and
'The idea is signing young players, promising and talented ones, and if important offers for older players are made, studying it'
Parries such as these do not a dragon slay. If I may employ the man wuvs woman analogy again, (it's an oldie but godloveit, a goodie):
Man: I loves you, babes. Hows about growing old together?
Woman: Well, for now I'm with you, but the minute a good offer comes in from someone younger, you might want to get acquainted with using acronyms like GSOH and WLTM.
Perhaps thoughts of leaving now occur to Man. Leaving, or punching.
And in closing my JamieSpurs length post - (I make no apologies, cos I won't dwell on this topic again) - yes, yes, we're all cheesed at Furious Bob, in much the same way as the Anfield lot were in 2005. It just would have been nice to see some kind of public semblance of Ramos sticking a great fucking sword in the heart of Peter Kays dragon with phrases like 'job for life', instead of a philosophical shrug and much fist shaking from Levy from stage left

they're a brilliant club.. light-years ahead of Man U in terms of class..
Keane did say that he was happy to stay at Spurs - as long as he was wanted. At the time, I thought his proviso, 'As long as I'm wanted' was an uncommon thing for a footballer to say. Normally, footballers aren't so matter-of-fact. Normally, it's win this, win that, bluff and bluster, hyperbole overdrive. Perhaps the plain truth about Keanegate is that, following the revelation of Rafa's courtship of Keane and the money he was prepared to pay for him, Spurs told the player he was no longer wanted. Let's be honest, it's good business and there are alternatives available.
Strangely, I've had a hunch since early this year that Keane might leave. I tried to dismiss it, as my hunches aren't always on the button. Such as when I invested in supporters' merchandise for Gretna. And the Inuit Refrigeration Service. Both on hunches.
Whatever the facts, boos are de rigueur.
One concern I have is that, with all the comings and goings, the squad is rapidly losing its culture. Granted, it's not a 'Top Four' culture, so maybe it's an acceptable loss. But players operate in relationships, bonds and units of mutual support. I don't doubt that Ramos is recruiting superior players and (in time) will build a superior culture. And looking at the pics from Spain I'd say (THFC PR engine notwithstanding) he's already doing an excellent job. I hope he has enough time to finish it before the season starts.
Re: Chucknuns
Great post by the way. But surely the situation could be seen like this:
Levy - "Those tossers rudolph & the fat cavalier are trying to nick Robbie'averageoverall'Keane and Dimi'poutingflouncer'Berbatov from us for about 40 or so million."
Wendy - "Fuck me boss, rip thier arms and legs off and hand me the cash. I can do better, trust me."
At least that's my take on it all. As for the 'tapping up' talk, it's swings and roundabouts. Look at how we got Wendy and how we treated jol(I salute you sir) and look at the outrageous stealing if Bostock.
Of course if the 'dossier' is impressive enough no one would like to see the man - who's nose is more flushed with pride in himself than any other part of his body - taken down a peg or two by the authorities but you and I both know, they're more likely to take him to a gentleman's club for a glass of 1947 Petrus.
Can I just put in a quick word for the much maligned Bent; I hope we give him a proper season. Good attitude, good workrate and I still believe he could come up trumps. Especially with a good midfield.
I was really enjoying the break but now I'm getting twitchy for the new season and we've still got the poxy olympics to get through.

Fully agree with u on Darren Bent. Look at his goal record when he has played as the lone striker in a 4-5-1 formation and take into consideration that Spurs will have a much better midfield than charlton or ipswich ever did.
Bent likes the lone striker role and i think both Bent and Spurs could benefit from him having a fair crack of the whip in that position.
Reply to 9__37:
Keane did say that he was happy to stay at Spurs - as long as he was wanted. At the time, I thought his proviso, 'As long as I'm wanted' was an uncommon thing for a footballer to say. Normally, footballers aren't so matter-of-fact. Normally, it's win this, win that, bluff and bluster, hyperbole...
I can't remember the exact quote, when it was said,or even who said it, but I think it was MJ after the arrival of Bent when asked if that meant Berbs or Defoe would be going, the reply was "I think the answer might surprise you"
My feeling at the time was that Robbie might not be around much longer
Sad to see him go and I've the same feeling as when the ex wife told me she wanted to marry the bloke down the road with the Beemer. Gutted at the time and drank for a while, but whilst drinking played with a lot of other lady drinkers who were going through a similar situation. Now, that happy slappy flappy chappy has nailed his colours to the wall, I'm looking forward to a period of playing around with Arshavin or Villa or Palienchenko or whatever their names are. The thing I learned in the previous days of loss is, it doesn't matter what their names are, so long as they're fit, last the distance and are able to score regularly.
Hola Merkypast,
That's exactly my point - that FuriousBobGate may be more about pushing than jumping. If you can't rule this out, booing upon Furious' return is suspect behaviour.

Guys, slag of Keane as much as you like. It is fuc@@ng harsh that you have posted he's number plate.
for all you guys who loved him and now hate Robbie, FFS!
Football has changed these days, its no longer expected for you to remain at the club for 10 years and the the cult club hero...its become a business, players and managers are tapped up its now part of the game, and players also want change at some stage of their limited careers doing what they love. If I was a player who was that good then I would be doing the exact same thing to experience the penultimate in European Cup Football, its not that RK is fobbing us off, he loves the club, and he loves the fans, but he wants a new challenge, and to experience something new, something that he can relish once his career is over.
I think its utter b*ll*cks that most of you on this site cant see this fact, and judge him as a judas now for leaving. Ok the timing is not the best, but I for one fully back him and wish him all the best for his future.
I think the word you're looking for is "funny" not "harsh"

Unless you are going to contribute something constructive, like Robbie Keanes Mobile number or a video of yourself happyslapping berbatov, then I suggest you 'do one'.

Keano or Schmo.
In which case there would be a queue of people wanting to let your tyres down too then.
Ramos said recently that the club's approach to transfers was very calm, very calculated. The club knows its transfer targets and is confident in its ability to get them.
Sometimes, it's as if we were looking at a painting through a straw. All we see is the tiny detail, but neither the context nor the big picture. I suppose there to be something like a table of targets. The club works its way from top to bottom, assessing each player according to various criteria (player's ability, temperament, financial). Buy, tick, don't buy, cross, highlight, question mark. There's no panic, no drama.
My hunch is that the departure of Berbatov and Keane had already been factored in, even wished for. Berbatov leaving was always obvious. Now it's just a matter of exchanging him for as much money as possible. Tapping up sometimes works in your favour, sometimes against. If Keane has been tapped up, then there are very few of us who wouldn't feel that Pool have been totally mugged for £20million. Ker-ching and thank you very much. Kudos to Levy. Double kudos for swerving the situation Villa are now in with Barry, which could easily have been us.
Meantime, Sunderland are confident of signing Steed, Kaboul, Teemu and Chimbo; which means that Spurs will have exported three civilised people to the remote and barbarous north-east.
We should stick to our guns and aim to sign young hungry players like Huntelarr, forget the Arshavins of this world, £20m for a russian 27 year old screams of PANIC BUYING.
We should really just go for Bently, Capel, and Huntlelarr, then maybe an older center half as back up.
It's metaphors like "looking at a painting through a straw" that make your posts a delight to read.
COME ON GUYS....£20mm! £20mm! £20mm!
All that needs to be said. Yes he is going to be missed, a very passionate player who always gave 110%. But at the end of the day, with that money, whoever we bring in, the fans will soon forget about him.....

I also do analogies: Keane without Berbatov may be like Wise without Morecambe. If it goes horribly wrong at Anfield I suppose there are always chat-shows.
Purveyors of gloves, mitens, bobble hats, leggings and all forms of thermal underwear are rejoicing in the streets of Sunderland upon hearing this story! >>>

It is said that Chimbonda's arrival in the north east will push the sale of cold weather clothing and thermal underwear up by around 200%!
has it ever occured to the people slagging keane of that ramos and levy might be encouraging this move.
and whatever twat compared him to campbell, think about it, 20 million or free to arsenal.surprised you had the inteligence to type that gem.
i think he should be made to play for us forever, forced to live in the high road and sell programmes when retired even painted white and blue so hes always wearing a spurs kit. in fact all players should do this unless of course we dont like them in which case we should out the buggers.
the sheer bloody cheek, i mean imagine someone wanting to change jobs, better salary, maybe better prospects. its an unspeakable outragage!

I get where you are coming from. However.... can you really say liverpool are light years ahead of us? can you say that Keane would massively increase his wages by moving to pool?
The reason that people are getting so vitriolic about him leaving is that he was telling everyone that would listen that he wanted to be a spur for life, he loved the club etc. He has allowed himself to be tapped up by Gerrard, Carragher and Jamie "literally" Redknapp and is now running up to pool for the promise of a few sub appearances in the Camps League. If he wants the move then why not come out and say it? Thats why people are giving him pelters.
If Levy and Ramos are involved in this transfer then so be it, but until angry Bob comes out and says something then we won't know and speculation will be that Keano has let his head get turned by that potato headed prick Benitez and his little minions Carra & Stevie G.
Friedel going villa does this mean robbo to blackburn in exchange for bentley????
jamiespurs,
can i say liverpool are light years ahead of us? no
did i say liverpool are light years ahead of us? no!
should every player respond to every bit of speculation re every club? christ that would be interesting. robbie would need his own blogg,
something along the lines of "robbie notspurs" perhaps
I concur with Chucknuns; 9.37 is back on top form and the season doesn't start for weeks.
I'll lose no sleep whatsoever if both Pointy & Tippytoes take their 15 league goals to a part-time bench situation and make room for some top fresh talent who'm Wendy would prefer and who may even have a better goals per chance ratio.
Oh dear me, this whole thing has created a rather twisted knicker vibe amongst us Yids - I agree with post 111

Cheers GotThemNotStir,
Thought no one noticed that post. Well at least I'm not a).
Pleasure Merky - I've said it before but i'll say it again, I reckon JR has it all in hand and is non-plussed at seeing pointy shouty bloke and misery guts go. This is a manager who is all about the team and as much as people say Bob gave 100% - there were plenty of times when the energy he expended on pointing vigourously would've been better spent getting the youngsters going.
Thats it, i've said my bit - now lets hope all this silly business is put to bed really quite soon.

According to Local rag Tottenham, Wood Green & Edmonton Journal Arshavin deal is sorted & has been left out of Zenit's squad for tonights game to discuss terms. I don't know how reliable that paper is as I don't live in the area now.

Thank you Robbo and thank you Teemu - I wish you both luck at your new clubs
Teemu's gone too, this one is a bit more believable seeing as he's pictured in a Sunderland shirt on their site...see ya Teemu, we'll give you a good cheer when you come back to the lane
Teemu has been great, hasnt he? quietly going about his business. I shall miss him. But he'll be back at the lane 2nd game of the season with Sunderland, lets make sure we make him feel welcome.
Thanks Teemu. Here's hoping you have 36 great games in PL this season. Lets make sure he gets a rousing reception when he comes to WHL.

Bang on.
What with all the bull shit that's going on I hope Ramos isn't feeling too under pressure. Alright the geezer's getting a fair wack, but in all fairness, who needs it?
Welcome to the Lane Senor Ramos.
Have to agree with 9.37 about the "almost wishing" for the sale of B and K. There is no doubt in my mind that we can improve on Pouty and Pointy, because let's face it, we'll have large cash to spend, but can we attract strikers of a "CL standard" to the Lane?
If this was the case all along, why the dossier little Dan? Is it to take Red Nose down a peg or three? Maybe. Is it to screw a few more quid out of ManUSA & The Bin Dippers? Possibly. Or is it to make sure that the big 4 realise that there is 16 other teams in the PL and they won't be treated like shit? Hardly. All they care about is keeping their niche atop of the Premier tree, and to hell with rest, whilst sticking 2 fingers up at the suits in Soho Square.
I'm down with the idea of Bent(bloke deserves his chance for the WHOLE season) as lone striker as he's prob more accustomed to that role, but what happens when he's injured and out for 6-8 weeks? We need striking plan B.
Whatever happens in 08-09, I think Pekhart will have a role to play in the first team on more than one occasion, as I feel he's ready to make the next step.
After all that has gone on already over the past weeks, I have such a good, positive vibe going on for the season ahead (same as last year, but hey what the fuck..)

It's easy to process as an idea but, as a fact, it's hard. Teemu to Sunderland? It just seems so...... wrong. Ah, well. Good luck, mate. You seem a decent bloke. I wish you happiness.
I'd have been more content if he hadn't been part of some job lot deal, as I value him as an individual. Still, that's business, I suppose.
Who would've thought that 'England's (sometime) Number One' would go got £3.5 million? Seems like the price of a packet of crisps. Or Kettle Chips, maybe. Either way, potatoes fried in oil. Good luck, Robbo. Again, a seemingly ok bloke, but damaged goods.

More like a mashed potato, but yeah, good luck.
I think both Bent and Pekhart will get a go this season. With the sales of bob and dim, we should spend big on only one striker and go with a one up front formation. The new boy and Bent can battle it out, with Pekhart offering back up and maybe even competition as he progresses.

A Farewell to Teemu piece and... word is Ramos is talking to David Villa. I don't know anymore but I bloody well hope to by tomorrow.
I have very high regards for Pekhart - the touch and finishing he has displayed at the international youth level is very reminiscent of Berbatov's. However, putting a young lad like him in the pressure cooker from the void left by our star strikers is way too much to ask. Would much rather see him eased into the starting squad, behind an Aguero or Pavlyuchenko.
I'm mixed on the Arshavin debate. The asking price is insane for somebody his age, but he is one of only a handful of players on the planet that can dribble past any defender any time, and wow would he be fun to watch. For his critics from the Euro semifinal - he only struggled because nobody could deliver a pass to him. I don't see how any team could shut down both him and Modric, especially when you consider we have 4 great passing defenders behind them and 2 very good passing wingers flanking them (Dos Santos/O'Hara).
Anybody know if JR plans to play Bale at LM or LB this season?
Dp you think he's too much money, Daytripper? I thought the £16 mill wasn't too harsh given what else is out there....
So, is Keane definitely leaving? If he is, why is he still in Spain as the latest pics on the official site (last pic, extreme right) and smiling broadly? Surely he would have been sent home? Erm.........in the fullness of time etc.

I hope the reports about Berbatov going abroad are true.
Shut that smarmy manc cunt right up.
Morning.
I have it on very good authority - as I have a cousin in the know, who is actually going out with Levy's secretary - that I know a little bit less than I thought I did earlier this morning
Good news that Spurs are going to sell Berba to Barca! That will shut that twat bag fergie up!!
Even if we do take a hit of £5m its worth it to see Berba go abroad and not be able to come back to haunt us.
HH any truth in the story that Steed turned down Sunderland?? I would dearly love it if he came out and said he wanted to fight for his place. I'm sure he has it in him to show Ramos what he's worth to the side & hope that Ramos realises that.
Robbo is off to Rovers so will the Bentley deal FINALLY be coming round???
Reply to jamiespurs:
If he's going or gone then what can we say??
Bob, I appreciate all you have done for Spurs, amongst your 100+ goals for us have been some absoulute belters and some amazing moments of skill and cheek in equal measure. I'll never forget seeing you put Boulharouz on his arse as you...
this sounds like some Villans talking to Barry. I agree, Keane and Barry are just desperate to join the scousers, but the grass aint always greener on the other side... good luck folks.. Norwegian Villan.

Splendid indeed.
So where would Villa fit in if we are going to play 4-5-1 with a target man?? Villa is hardly of the target man stature.
Signing Villa would instantly make me forget about Keano leaving and i'm bouyed by the fact that Berba appears to be off abroad! Stick that up your pipe Fergie!

Very true, though is annoying that he always seems to be sporting a smile as wide as..... well, the mersey perhaps?
Over the years we've seen plenty of deals that looked on but flopped such as Ashley Young going to Villa when he looked a cert for us and we can imagine that Raffa expected Keano to cost a lot less than 20 mill plus Alonso didn't go. So all in all it's no surprise that nothings happened yet

Certainly isnt without its complications. We're known for being arses when it comes to being negotiated with, Liverpool are even worse these days.
The longer it goes with nothing being said, the longer I can see him staying, which i don't think is good for anyone.
We don't get our money, Liverpool don't get an ageing striker to point and shout at things, and dodgy Dave doesn't get those £1000 a pop alloys.

I cannot believe the stick that is being dished out to Robbie on this blog. He is a Spurs legend and deserves apat on the back for service to Spurs! Give the guy a break. Not many international captains stay at an underacheiving club from the age of 22 to 28?? I really hope the crowd do not boo him on his return.

I recognize that Robbie has done a lot for us but I can't let him go with my blessing. He should want to stay and see where Ramos' Revolution is going and not just make one of the so-called "Big Four" stronger. Very disappointed in the boy.
