A Reply To Levy

Saturday, 19 July 08, 04:12 AM · Comments (216)

Well this is what they meant by the sum of all fears, eh?

It was true all along. Berbatov was only ever marking time in our shirt and was 100% complicit with his whoring skid mark of an agent.

The real sucker punch in all this of course is Keane. As has been said, it's an emtional business. Emotionally, Bob has bailed on us. When we are told that Pointy Shouty Bloke has become a negative influence in the dressing room it is time to unceremoniously kick the little knacker into touch.

And don't come a callin' with some lament involving 100 goals and years of good service. According to Paul Simon there are 50 ways to leave your lover. None of which at the last count included scuttling around in shadows being tapped up by Steven Gerrard. Keane was this and he was that. But ultimately history will judge him as a low rent weasel.

Levy's intended pursuit of the Grump from Goven and the Bindipping Mariachi is only to be applauded. What it will achieve lies with the Premier League. There are clear rules of conduct and there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that both Liverpool and Manchester United have deliberately  and repeatedly broken these rules.

Of course, the brain surgeons are out in force. I'm referring to Levy's critics. Spurs Odious are calling his statement  'an admission of defeat'. Did they learn you much in Clown School?

Levy has ceaselessly and intelligently led this Club from the front. The allegations of quick buck making didn't get anywhere and now when he exhibits more bite and more class, you opt not to salute but instead seize the chance to whine on about 'inflated season ticket prices'.

Do you know what? Go buy yourself some fucking Premium Bonds. Odds are they won't depreciate and they won't let you down. And it'll keep you out of my hair.

The mess we find ourselves cast in is not remotely of our making. An incredible strike partnership has decided to disown us. What is required now then is wit, determination and a desire to not only make good collateral damage but regenerate. Unlike the shiftless chancers we occasionally employ, Levy's commitment has never been absent.

Levy has just what is required in spades. Back him and you back those who truly want to wear the badge.

gid rid if them both! its annoying that keane came out and said how happy he was and that he wants to stay for the rest of his career and that it will be nice to have a summer with no speculation over him and he does this!! berb has always been a prick! will not be cheering either of them when they come back to the lane!

I say Jog On to the pair of em but to be fair one is going to the biggest club in the world and the other to his boyhood heros (given the chance to play for my beloved spurs its fair to say id sell everyones gran down the river inc my own) BUT these two glory/money merchants shold remember they wernt exactly anyones top panini sticker pick when we got them and they should have shown a bit more class or atleast saved my great club some money by actually putting in a transfer request which would hand any signing on fee back to the club. and lastly its about time people started saying well done to Danny levy as i think he speaks for all of us and seems to do us proud more often than not

Personally I'm not gonna hold it agianst Keano, he's given us so many years of quality football I can't just decide to hate the little man because he wants to play in the Champions League. This might be the only chance he gets, so I can totally understand him wanting to go. Sure it won't be nice seeing him go so suddenly, but hey, this is modern football.

I totally agree with your words about Levy though, anyone who didn't get spine tingles when they read his little piece yesterday isn't a real Yid. Levy has once again showed what a top chairman he is and that he has Spurs best interests at heart, kudos Mr Levy!

There is life after Keane and Berba, no play is bigger than the club!

i agree m8, i think levys a great chairman, the way jol was treated was a bit shit but in the end it was the right decision. ramos is a great manager and tactician and jol just went a bit mental and his substitutions were awful. ramos did well to rescue our season. i dnt want 2 turn into a selling club like ars*nal but if we can get nearly 50 mil and get in replacements that want to play in the shirt then y not. im a huge fan of keane but berb has never been 100% commited and i think levy has done the right thing and he deserves praise for what he's done for the club and where hes got us

I agree harry mate. What can anyone do if the foot stamper and the shoulder sgrugger start disrupting team spirit. Get as much money as possible (I understand liverpool are still sending anyone involved with the club out begging and drawing extra beneifits cheques to raise a respectable sum) and bring in replacements.

We still have a team that creates a hatful of chances, and there is no shortage of finishers out there.

Just a shame keane will leave as a petulant self serving, foot stamping idiot rather than an old spurs favourite. But that is just the way of things now. neither players or agents seem to know how to leave a club with dignity.

Good bit of business if we get a good price for Keene. Started to see some cracks in his play last season. He will give Liverpool one good season and thats all..take the money! and well done to Levy, if the the bottom 16 don't stand up to the so called big four, then they might just as well break away now and form a new league where every team has a chance, back to the future is the way forward.

I say reject any bids from the 2 clubs in question... Open an auction for the 2 players concerned and accept a reasonable offer ... If the players wont accept it let them rot in the ressies until their contracts run out and wave bye bye.. Benitez and Ferguson should be publicly humiliated by us refusing to bow to demands and pay the price we want not what they want to rob us with.. I have followed Keanos career even before we signed him as I always saw him as a talent I wanted to see in a Lillywhite shirt but he has sunk further in my estimation than the worm burrowing at the end of my garden.
Finally I echo the chairmans comments and applaud the courage of his convictions .. If only the Premier League showed as much balls which they obviously will not because of the clubs concerned... This will ultimately be swept under the carpet and the next star who emerges from beyond the Big Four will be in exactly the same situation

Keane & Berba are but memories now.

And so "loyal" Robbie moves onto his umpteenth club, i wonder how this loyal team player we keep hearing about will respond to being subbed/being sub at his new employers? who knows, will he succeed? who cares! Id love to see Torres' face at the sight of the first tantrum. I wouldnt hazarding a guess that it reads something like "and you are?..."

Slightly harder to feel angry at Berba for some reason, i guess its because he is every inch the modern nomad aka a footballer. He never made the same connection with the fans that Keane did, keane got by on a PR to a certain extent, Berba was just one hell of a player.

Totally agree with the Levy comments. Mostly agree with Berbs and partially about Keane: The club statement is clear: THEY-ARE-OFF.

Levy knows next to nothing will happen with the League taking action against Liverpool & Man Utd, but is purely using the furore to get the extra 2 million on each sale price. He is a top negotiator.

Robbie Keane probably would have stayed with us "for the rest of his career" but his head has been turned by immediate Champions League football which ties into his age, money, some more money and his apparent historical love of Liverpool.

The timing sucks and is potentially damaging given Berbs imminent departure too but I for one am not going to forget Keane's years of service, abysmal cartwheel, sometimes sublime goals and assists, runs into cul de sacs and 100% effort. He won't celebrate when he scores against us and compared to the majority of modern footballers is an honourable man.

Berbatov, on the other hand could be described as equally "blessed & cursed". He is a true one off with his football mind and play, awesome in fact (when focussed) but has been like a millstone round our clubs neck since the end of his first season with his attitude and parasitic agent.

Lets face it - the deals are probably already done & just pending us sorting out the replacements.

Move on.

Like I said in the other section of this blog. Bent will step up to the plate and replace at least one on the departing two (both if they play him as lone striker), at least he is a boyhood Spurs fan as well so should have some loyalty when Gio and Modric give him the service he needs to be the to be the top prem scorer next season.
I am very disappointed in Keane and if he feels like this he can fuck off and sit on the bench at pool, but I feel that you don't become a crap striker overnight and last season we just didn't have the players to play to DB's strengths (running on the through balls and crosses) not I think we have so if he can top the English scorers charts in the prem in a crap side I believe he can be top overall. The 50/1 at paddy power looks tempting on this.

So Levy has taken the moral high ground, or is he just trying to appease the fans for what appear to be 2 done deals? TBH I think the moral outrage is a little over the top and may come back to bite him in the arse - for instance Palace are still seething over the Bostock transfer.
If you didn't know that the Berbatov transfer was coming then you've been in denial. The Keane deal shocked me at first, but thinking about it then it doesn't surprise. I think that Ramos wants to pack a fluid midfield and play one fast, direct striker upfront - and Robbie K isn't exactly fast or direct. So we take the cash for RK. Bent might be given a chance to be that fast direct striker, or we get in a Huntelaar or Pavlyuochenko to be that focus. Either way I expect to see 2 or 3 more signings (Capel, a striker and a DM) before the start of the season. This is the point that this starts to be a side molded in Ramos' image.

Absolutley agree with worthingyid. The fact is that the tactic of some of the teams who have been in the CL places recently is to deliberately destabilise any club who looks like they may be a challenger - this is why its not not just Spurs, but Aston Villa too who are victims over Gareth Barry. The decision about who will fimish at the top is no longer made on the pitch. There has always been buying and selling between clubs and fair enough, but it must be willing seller and willing buyer.
If Spurs had refused to sell Micheal Carrick 2 years ago, they would not now be in this position. Everyone said £18 million was more that he was worth - but they were wrong, because it positioned Spurs as a selling club and Spurs have not moved forward since then. That has cost hugely more than £18 million.
What I hope Levy has the strength to do now is to refuse to sell either player unless we get the players we want in exchange - Dirk Kuyt anyone? - whatever money he might get will be more than lost elsewhere. If they don't accept it, they must play in the reserves. If anyone thinks this would be foolish, then look forward to losing Modric soon if he is any good, and many years of more mid table finishes.

dear harry

You are absolutely right.Levy is a great chairman, and we as Spurs-lovers must trust
him and especially Ramos, that we can go all
the way ino top 4.
I think, the chances should be better this season, since Manch U, have to miss Ronaldo 3
month,Liverpool seems slightly weaker, and Ar-
senal are in a build up period. Chelski are as
they are, and strong, but if we could sign 2-3
top-players more, get rid of the players all fans seem to agrre we shall let go, then we have a great chance this season to break into
top 4.
About Keano and Berba. As said earlier, players
are like hookers, better status, salaries , you
can only se the *smoke* of them. Berba and his
agent are assholes, and Keano, a puppet on a string, who we all misunderstood. Get them out
and get,1 superstar in for these two.
Maybee keep ,the lost boy Bent, who maybee can go on, and bang goals in again. The youngster
who scored 2 goals in the first training macth,
maybee he could be a new *Martin Chivers* strong and big in the goal area.
From Bale,Lennon, the new croat, and mexican I
espect a lot, and maybee two of them could become superstars. With two superstars in a team, and balance with high standard we should
be there, among the top 4.

We still have Bent, Dos Santos & Pekhart coming through. Add one maybe two quality strikers and we will be fine.

Fairplay to Levy, fairness where fairness is due. It was about time someone stood up to those mugs MU & LFC. Levy still fu*ked Jol over and that can't be forgotten, but people in those positions are usually hard-faced tw*ts anyway, even so I do condone it. Keano has really surprised me, we all thought he was todays version Mr Tottenham Hotspur, but he has quite clearly shown his true colours and they aint lillywhite & blue. Berby well we all know he's class but no-one could trust him as far as they could throw him and he's just in it for the glory, he doesn't love Spurs or the fans one little bit.

Well i would just like to say im bloody furious with ferguson and benitez. They have blatantly broke all the rules and i am sick and tired of being puppets to these clubs. If ferguson/man utd can tell ronaldo hes not going anywhere as they have said themselves yesterday (hes under contract so i was never worried was fergusons words i believe) then why cant levy do the bloody same with these two who would sell there nan for twenty quid. You know i knew that berbatov was a bit of a no hope and that he would no doubt be off, he more or less made that clear last year from the first game at sunderland but keane, well im lost for words. To come out in the papers after the cc cup win and tout about how he loves spurs and he would want to be here forever, have any spurs fans babies, what a sack of sh*te! How about more like i`ll just go running to a dago tw*t when ever he comes calling. Why dont villa complain aswell or arent they up for a fight, are they just content to let things stand as they are now liverpool have backed off barry, but look at the mess they have left for villa to pick up.

What really annoys me is that we have been building a squad this season that though not yet complete was starting to look a bit of a force and probably the best spurs team i have seen in a longwhile, only for vultures to come knocking and we are gonna fold like a pack of cards in a tornado. Why give in to these teams, as i said man utd aint with real! Get with it levy, they are both under contract, they both signed knowing what they were getting paid and expected, no one held a gun to there head, deal with it. If all tottenham is about now is selling our best players to help those above then what the hell is the point of supporting this club. We will never make up ground with them and where does it end, we all know that if bale has a top season then big red nose wil only be back next year the t*sser. So thats my rant over, from a seriously pissed off tottenham fan!

Well done Levy; totally agree with the comments. Thing is, we all know what the FA will do to the 2 northern scum clubs - fuck all.

On a separate note, big rumours coming out of Vital Tottenham from a certain Graham 'Brick Wall' Roberts. Let's concentrate on the future; Keane and Berbatrough are yesterdays news - good riddance to players who don't want to wear the badge.

Levy has added a few millions to each price with his shrewd outspoken condemnation (remember Chelski/Arnesen???), and I'm sure that Ramos has a few aces up his sleeves with the money he'll get.

I for one am not worried. Best of luck to both Berba and Keane (you c#@+s!!!!!)

If Keane goes good luck, he is an employee of the club and has been made a better offer, would you not change jobs for a better career, more money and prestige? Of course you would.
If you boo Keane on his return you are scum of the earth and have an IQ of 10, hes served us well. If one of your old work buddies pops into work you dont smack him do you?

Its football, come and go, I bet you didnt mind it signed Bostock, he was their best talent, dont suppose you considered the Palace faithful when the news broke?

Its all about who we sign now. Would have loved to see Berbs, Keane, Modric, Dos Santos et all but hey ho Im sure we will move on, now Ramos can create his own team.

I will enjoy seeing him warm the Liverpool bench, straight into an ex-spurs seat(Crouch), would like to see him act the way he does at Liverpool the way he acted at the lane when subbed, his finger wagging and mouthing won't be appreciated either, as for Berbaoff the writing was on the wall, his little toad of an agent wants a big pay day, as for Berbatoss hes a mercenery, plain and simple, never committed to Spurs, just himself.

DwayneYid,

Take your point but you know that "better offers" are a big taboo in Football still to fans. A lot a people have given Keane massive, massive support, more than he ever deserved in my opinion - all throughout the tantrums and sulks and even storming off at Brum under Jol. I think people have right to be furious, booing is certainly pretty futile as you say but how else do you let someone know that you feel let down by them at a football match?

Anderton & Mabbutt are 2 that spring to mind who had better offers and stayed - credit to them.

As a fellow Irishman, I'm embarassed and sick to my stomach over the antics of Keane. I know his ever-expanding head was turned and filled full of shit(even Trappatoni told him sitting on the bench at Scouserland would be cool), but his newspaper comments of several weeks ago just put it all in perspective. He is as someone put it earlier, "good, not great" which is what I have always maintained his status at WHL to be. All the rest is overhype and hyperbole in equal measure.

In today's terms, £20 mill is fair market price for an "experienced prem league (somewhat) consistent striker" and Danny should hold out for as much as is possible.

I won't shed any tears over you Robbie, you are indicative of the modern footballer. You can just see his humble-looking face at the press conference now, talking about how it's "an honour to be here" and " i'm looking to improve as a player" and "it wasn't about money". If he really believes his own spin and rhetoric, then we're well shot of him. 100% effort doesn't win you anything, you also need talent, skill, drive and detrmination, and maybe a little luck.

Robbie, you don't have enough of them.

As I've stated, it pains me as fellow Irishman to put up with shit, so I'll just say,

Robbie, you won your trophy, now fuck off.

As for the Bulgarian, You've been dead in my eyes for the last 12 months.

Kudos goes to Levy for all he said. Except...

He went too far stating that the players had expressed to wanting to leave. Strategically this was dubious. It effectively prevents the players from backtracking and agreeing to stay. Would anyone want to see Keane in a Spurs shirt next year? Not now.

Will this raise the players prices? Not sure. If I were Liverpool or United, I'd be confident that the players were set to arrive, and not offer a penny more. Are Barcelona less likely to put in a competing bid now that "It's a done deal, Berbatov has his heart set on Man U", Absolutely.

Are Liverpool and United going to be punished by the Premier League? Probably not. Maybe that's what Levy is hoping for - to paint the most dastardly picture of Liverpool and Man U so that they get points deductions, and then sneak in to the Champions league? Maybe the board wants another backhand payment as with the Arnesen affair, if they agree to drop the charges?

At the moment, all it effectively does is provides a message to the support that "Keane and Berbatov are about to leave but it's not the board's fault".

It strikes me that with this statement the board are acting to protect their position as they are resigned to letting the players go.

But don't get me wrong, the rest of the statement is spot on!!

But, point is said he wanted to finish his days at thfc, ledders shared cup with him, vc and all and he turns rounds and shits on us. Soon as Champs league is put back to straight knock to raise standard of each game, minnows every chance in in off game etc the better and big boys cannot waltz through half arsed under seedings (know it won't be reverted) but would be better for the comp. JR has a plan and no doubt it contains contingencies for such events. Bearing in mind the number of times RK was substituted I've no doubt he wasn't in the long term plans anyway and everyone knows that DB was going.
Got a strange feeling that we will be a stronger "team" without them.
Here's to the next 125 years.

PS expect Real Madrid to gazzump Man Utd for DB now they can't get their main target.

like most i am sick to my stomach with this situation, the one area we had sorted is now torn to shreds.i could waffle on all day about dimi, keane, united and pool but why bother, there gone and good ridance.now to the problem we face in getting replacements, dimi can not be replaced because there is no other player at the momment thats got his qualities, also keanes experience and leadership can only come from being with a team for many years so he cant be replaced either.i have heard many strikers names banded about to replace them and none give me much optimism, but one striker i have not heard being linked to us who i believe would be perfect is kanouta.he played under ramos at sevilla usually as a lone striker (which i strongly think will be our system under ramos),he scored bags of goals,he knows the prem very well, has strong links to his massive improvement because of ramos's coaching and would surely welcome a chance to play under ramos again.ok i know he did not exactly pull up trees while he was with us but thats because the system did not suit his style of play, under ramos's system he was fantastic and showed his great abilities, heading, dribbling, great strike with either foot, great hold up play to bring the midfielders into the game at sevilla.in my opinion freddy fits the bill perfectly for the new system and with the ramos connection would surely welcome a return.what would you guys think of a return for kanouta?.

We carried Berbatov for the majority of the season, for every good game there was 2 in which he was non existant.

30m? Take him. twat.

As for Robbie, it is more disappointment that a so called 'tottenham man' fucked us over at the very first opportunity to prove his loyalty, than any dissappointment at losing him.

consequently said cunt is dead to me and I am looking at the future, I view him in the same contempt I reserve for peadophiles rapists and gooners. good riddance.

And 20m to fund a replacement? fine. I cont see it being a major problem.

Point being with the Sunderland deal maybe going ahead we will have the best part of 75m to add to a squad that already consists of Modric, Dos Santos, Woodgate, Bale, Hutton, Gomes, Huddlestone, Jenas, Lennon, King PLUS being led by Juande Ramos and Poyet

SEVENTY FIVE MILLION for Ramos to get the players he wants to plug the few remaining gaps in out first eleven.

It could well be a blessing in disguise. Our only enemy is time.

My two pence worth (in an football Manager 2008 ideal world)

Santa Cruz + Bentley 30m
Arshavin 15m
Pavyluchencko (or whatever he is called) 7-8m

then a CB and a defensive midfielder.

Jobs a good un.

I am a long time Levy supporter. The only thing I have ever disliked about his conduct is the manner in which he sacked BMJ. The man has continually put his money where his mouth hasn't been since his arrival all those years ago (back when we were all still praying Sol would stay). Just think how the club has moved on since then.

On top of this, he has made the club more profitable, capable of attracting great names, and achieved higher placed finishes in the league than have ever occurred in my living memory (I'm 24). Even if he were to sell the club, as has been widely anticipated, he would leave her in a far better position than she was in when he stepped in. Tickets are priced correctly taking into account the simple economics of the situation. He would be stupid to charge less and, what's more, cheap tickets would disadvantage the club when it came to improving playing staff, coaching staff and performances on the pitch.

Let's now focus on bringing just 1 top-class replacement up front(Santos can cover there too), along with the defensive midfielder we all know we need, and trust in more loyal players, such as Bent and Pekhart, to give their best for us.

please save us from the fake indignation. We respect what you have done for us, and it is always fun to have a pop at those from up-north, but calling someone involved in football a hypocrite is like telling us that Harry Hotspud is overly sensitive about the Bentley medical incident - we know it already.

We know your real purpose is to ensure the fans do not blame you for what is about to happen - don't worry we don't. But don't insult us with this holier than thou attitude. You gave up any right to preach to the masses about honour the night you humiliated BMJ at the Getafe game.

As a fellow Irishman, I'm embarassed and sick to my stomach over the antics of Keane. I know his ever-expanding head was turned and filled full of shit(even Trappatoni told him sitting on the bench at Scouserland would be cool), but his newspaper comments of several weeks ago just put it all in...

It is very interesting that this and other blogs are filled with praise over DL's comments today, less than 24 hours after a man who really told the truth and who should be geting the praise. That man is JR who publicly said when asked over Keano and Bebs if they were going said that THFC was responsible to shareholders and had to balance the books. Am I the only one to then see the one man who HAS to carry out the shareholders wishes and would be in the firing line for seliing the leagues most potent strike force of 07 come out and attack ManUre and Liverpuddle? It's all about your image and PR and that is what this attck is all about. After funding MJ in the transfer market heavily last year and JR with vast amounts already this year, ANY sizeable offers for THFC players over what we paid for them was going to be listened to. Everyone also remember Camoli's comments about buying players young and selling them later for a good profit too? That is where clubs like THFC can make up the difference between us and the CL top 4. I also say good riddance. Give me 11 wearing the lillywhite shirt that want to wear it and will give JR 100% than 5 who do and 6 who dont.

Well said Danny Levy, true supporter and he only said what most loyal fans were thinking, both players performed well for us and will probably do well wherever they go but when we finish above the scousers next season what will Keano do then? move to his boyhood club? The sweaty at manure will not stand for the sulky berbatov and he will be gone after one season, but thats if he doesn't change his mind and sign for Barca instead as they have more money for his wages. with the £70mil from the sale we should be able to buy a DM, a CB and a couple of strikers. It would probably mean that Bent will start playing and scoring and the rest of the team won't be on the end of either player's tantrums.

BANG ON THE MONEY!!!!!!

Would rather have David Villa - he's ruthless! And not sure that Santa Cruz would go for as low as 10 - 15 - especially with the inflated price of Bentley. Santa Cruz was bargain of the century if you ask me...

David Villa is unrealistic to come to us at any price we agree with Valencia. Santa cruz whatever price. he is underated and would come to us. Don't want arshavin of pavylachenku they will be like greece after they won it lucky but all crap.

Graham Roberts on Talk Sport said,
Bentley is already done, he is in for 15 mil, and he has bought house in london, Capel is next almost done deal.
Villa negotiations are ongoing and very good chance it will happen!

15million and already bought house in london.
Capel will also be coming (almost complete).

I have read all of the comments with a near tear to my eye. I find it rele sad that we hav been put in2 this situation by other clubs and it has ruined our pre season preparations. However Ramos is a smart man and will hav his reasons for lettin all this happen. He can now build a team entirely of his own makin and create a TEAM that works to bring success. these 2 players hav been huge for us over the past 2 season as Jol brought the best out of individuals however Ramos wants to build a team and these 2 clearly r not team players and can there4 leave. I think if Ramos rele thought that we would need a DM then we would hav 1 by now. Possibly y we havent been linked with 1. We hav been linked with strikers continuously so my thinkin is that behind the scenes they knew that this was goin 2 happen so r puttin the feelers out 4 replacements. When the deals go through we will start biddin 4 players again and the team will be complete by the time we get 2 Middlesborogh.

IN RAMOS I TRUST

Change is in the wind.

But, as much as Leds stands for Legend, is he going to get the pitch-time to shine this season? There's barely a hint of him in all the Spain pics, and neither he (nor 'train alone' Woody) got a run out in the Pub Team Reaming.

Not great signs.

The knees have it. That's what i fear.

I hate it when this happens, a couple of great signings and everythinh is going in the right direction then two gods want to leave us. Regardless of whether they go or stay I think its fair to say we have had the best out if them. We need a billionaire owner so we can let them rot in the reserves for a couple of seasons. Hopefully Ramos can get us challanging for the title so we can stop this from happening otherwise we will just turn into a feeder club for the top 4.

(And hey, I'm happy with some kinda 4-2-3-1 style shenanigans. A central defence would be nice tho ;))

I'm gonna do me a bit more trusting, and see what the next few weeks brings :)

You called it right there Harry!

Despite the odd bad decision - mostly down to those of his employees - Levy is just the type of director every clubs wants. More importantly he normally gets what or who he wants which benefits all despite the odd grumblings.

But life goes on and as they say in you can't stand still in football. My only real fear is who would replace Levy when ENIC finally make the sale in the next 1-2 years.

For now I'll put my trust in Levy and Ramos to continue taking us forward from players, formations to league positions. Those who shout "selling both are steps backwards" need to open their eyes and stop dwelling on what was.

I never really believed Berbs would stay more than 2 years without CL but hoped he would fall in love with the club and want to remain, he didn't so disappointed but not surprised.

As for the pointy shouty bloke, 2007 he was top goalscorer, don't think his record in 2008 is as good though so maybe it is a good deal for us to offload him now. He could have peaked already and it's all downhill from here. Maybe that's what Ramos meant by being in the best interests of the club.

Ok, so these two are off. Quite obviously we need to spend the cash on atleast one new striker but surely Darren Bent has to be given a chance. Everyone seems to have overlooked the fact that he spent the whole of last season sitting on the bench but never once moaned and when he did come on for twenty mins he often did well scoring 8 times. Could you see the other two actingin a dignified way like that?! He must be a half sensible player after knocking in a hat full of goals in a shit 4-5-1 Charlton side who went down. The only guaranteed thing in football is the loyalty of the fans. We will move on with new players and hopefully existing ones will now shine. COYS!!
