A Trio Of Tantilising Transfer Titbits

Here then in no particluar order some fresh feed to get the wet hens clucking...

From Spain: For those of you watching in black and white, this one's in technicolour. Tottenham have made an approach for David Villa. Oh yes they have. And Ramos himself has been sent in to talk the talk. It is said that the money has been met and that it's basically down to the player. Exciting stuff, but don't hold yer breath.

Hey Hey Bad News: It was rumoured that both Bale & Hutton were absent from training yesterday. Now it's being touted that Hutton has done his ankle in and may be out for weeks. Twelve of them.

Are you trying to seduce me Mr Robinson?:  Paula is nearly a Blackburn player. Rovers are said to have the neccessary readies £3.25 ish in their eponymously titled biscuit tin. The sticking point being Levy's list of Add Ons Various...What's sauce for the goose, eh?

morning H...

didin't get round to posting my thoughts on Teemu on the previous thread so i'm sure you won't mind me doing so here..

i'd just like to thank Teemu for all he has given for us..

as i've said before, when i saw him literally spill blood for the cause in the NLD of a few years ago i knew he'd always be a player i liked..

i've been wondering which Tottenham game to come over to this coming season and i think it will have to be the Sunderland one now..

and if i don't make it i would implore those who can to cheer Teemu at every touch of the ball..

farewell Teemu

Go n-eirigh an bothar leat.. (that's Irish by the way!)

Harry

Where did you learn of Huttons injury?? It will be disastrous if we lose him for the start of the season let alone nearly 3months!! Super Al was earmarked to be our Dani Alves.

You're right Paul, lets hope Gunter is ready to step up to the plate!!

Ramos will work his magic on Villa. My only doubt would be where he would play in the new system and that we will be an astonishingly short team!! Very technically gifted but short none the less!!

Where did you hear about the Villa deal? Great stuff if we pull that one off! Shame about the Hutton though!

David Villa would be a fantastic deal, and our best bet is with Ramos talking to him; he is a very highly regarded manager. Hutton out for 12 weeks would indeed be a huge blow.

What a doomer if the rumor on Hutton is true! I'ts about time we were linked with some decent defenders especially with the injury record of our back 4!!! All very well being linked with fantastic forwards like Villa but I just cant see it happening, altho if it did I would probably cream my pants with excitement!!!

I can't believe you'd choose to focus on that rather than the fact that Ramos is talking to Villa! :D

But you're right, either is correct (titbit is a variation on tidbit).

So it may well be that Gunter would be Hutton dressed up as Lahm?

Can't see that being our front two. Arshavin is more of an CAM than an ST. He would be better suited to our midfield than playing as a striker.

I think Ramos may come back from spain with Villa and Milito. Now that would be a good front two!

That would leave us with Milito, Villa, Bent, Pekhart as our strikers (with J2S being able to fill in up top aswell) I think Bent if given the chance this year will show us that he can do the job. He has proven form in a 4-5-1 formation and given that he will have a brilliant midfield behind hi he should get plenty of chances!

spot on again JS. That is if Milito a "non-midget"?

Milito is a bit of a beast! an old school big man up front type of bloke. He has 51 goals in a 108 appearances for Real Zaragoza so a 1 in 2 strike rate isn't bad is it?

smooth bum's addition to our midfield would make us the shortest team in the prem. Maybe Spurs are trying to save money by getting half the side to wear kids sized spurs kits.

He isn't really tall though. 5ft 10". But he is good in the air. A kind of argentinian Les Ferdinand!!

I also can't see us buying both Arshavin and Villa, we need some height, esp. since Modric and Lennon are both midgets. Villa + Milito sounds great. I think that, whoever else we get, we should buy Milito, he's a bargain at the reported 9m asking price. If we can't bet Milito, another (younger) bargain would be Fred at around 9m.

What is interesting is the reported price for Robinson. This is too law and I wonder whether we have not teamed up with B'burn to shaft Arsenal. B'burn need to pay part of the fee for Bentley to Arsenal. If we, say, reduce the Robinson price by 2-3m and B'burn do the same with Bentley, B'burn save some cash, we get the deal we want and A'nal are shafted. Are we in a naughty conspiracy here? The beauty of this (if we are indeed doing it) is that A'nal will not be able to prove anything since player valuations are so subjective.

Toddspur: no, Milito is not a midget and is actually renowned as a great header of the ball.

so we have a player who can hold play up in Milito and Peckhart as an alternative;

sounds good to me

Guys on a day when we have lost a spurs fan in Teemu Tainio. I think we should all read this link>>>>

LINK

Jamie O'Hara, has come through the ranks at Spurs and is another Spurs fan living the dream. I head that his dad (also a huge Spurs fan) cried when he saw his boy run out in the lilywhite at WHL.

O'Hara quotes >> "One day, I'd love to be captain of Tottenham. Whether that dream ever comes true, we'll just have to wait and see"

Good luck Jamie, from a namesake I agree that would be a dream come true!!

I think Bale pulled up in training with a grain stroin about a week ago. Or is it groin strain?

And now Hutton's ankle? Bummmer. How? Must admit, when I saw the pics of the squad running on the beaches I experienced a mild 'Uh-oh'. I figured it was only a matter of time before someone twisted an ankle in the soft sand - especially one of the whippets. I just assumed beach-running is normal practice for building strength and stamina, so I didn't pick up the phone and give Marcos a quick tinkle.

Fact is, injuries are part of the normal playing-package during matches, and adjustments are made. It's just a shame when they occur in training. That's assuming Hutton's occured in training. Maybe it wasn't. Maybe, in order to have a word with Berbatov, Hutton had to climb up onto the Bulgarian's pedestal and did the damage jumping down - a far more likely scenario, I think.

Villa and Arshavin up front. As replacements for Keane and Berbatov, they rock.

Can't see Villa and Arshavin myself.

Reckon either Villa & Milito or Arshavin & Pavlyuchenko.

Either pair would be good but I have a good feeling about Villa now that Valencia seem to have decided that they do need the money after all.

After seeing him many times in the reserves last season, I would say Gunter is nowhere near first-team ready. If Jenas is smart he'll offer to fill in as he can tackle and get forward, plus his central midfield options may be more limited this season.

If you're being honest, then that would be great. Obviously not for David Hutton though. I guess we'll know tonight whether Hutton plays or not.
