Hallelujah! Dos Santos Is A Yid!

'From the horses'... and you cannot beat that
The boy the N17 Capos embrace as 'Johnny Two Saints' has spoken outsidda da family.
Speaking exclusively to Sport.es he effectively said, "Next season I play at Tottenham and what swung it for me was what your blogger extraordinaire Harry Hotspur called the Ramos Factor..."
Welcome, I bid you welcome. This, my friends, is all shaping up very nicely.
Well done again, Mr. Levy.

Dear Harold,

Whilst I applaud your enthusiasm and never ending quality blogs, I cannot help but be slightly reticent in joing you in welcoming this, no doubt quality signing, to our spiritual home. This hesitancy is born, I fear, of having ones fingers burnt on more than one occasion. However, as always, I salute you.

Leonard Cohen! It sounds great even without the usual half bottle of whisky. However I hope the pathos in the song isn't reflected in this latest transfer deal - another hallelujah of false hope to crash at the bejeweled feet of the pitiless gods of football. Dos Santos could well be our saviour (or two of them), but he could aslo be another Postiga.

Whatever - his end of season hat-trick was pure beauty. Halleluljah

Excellent, was my reaction! It seems a player who actually isn't yet officially a Spurs player has declared he will be next season.

Quite the opposite to a certain Spurs player who is
keeping his mouth shut AND his options open. Oh sorry, I forgot, we're supposed to lay off Berbatov and encourage him, because he is so good
(and no one else is batting an eyelid in his
general direction at present).

Nice to see the English hacks getting in late on the Sergio Garcia rumour too, mind you I've heard nothing since... you Harry? Sightings of Levy at

garcia isnt an attacking midfielder as the report says. hes a centre forward.

Diarra 'linked' again eh? Hmmm, we may be determined but, irrespective of debates surrounding his playing pedigree and professional heritage, the player himself is going to take some convincing:

Sky Sports - 14-May-08

"What do I want? I want to win the World Cup and the Champions League," he said.

"And most of all, I just want to play.

"I couldn't do that too much at Chelsea and Arsenal. You will have to question Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger about that but they know why I left.

"Here, I can play every week with Portsmouth. It is a good team, proved by reaching the FA Cup final, and that is why I'm here.

"I want to win something with Portsmouth and I will be here next season."

Giovani transferred to Tottenham Hotspurwww.fcbarcelona.cat

FC Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur FC have come to an agreement for the transfer of Giovani Dos Santos to the English club.

The Mexican will sign for the club managed by Juande Ramos until June 30, 2013 for a fee 6 million euros plus another 5 million depending on the player’s appearances for the London club during his five year’s of contract.

FC Barcelona also maintain 20% of the financial rights to any possible transfer of the player during his first two years of contract and 10% on any transfer from his new club, Tottenham Hotspur FC.

Giovani dos Santos, aged 19, joined Barça in 2002/03 and joined the Infantil A (Under 15) squad, eventually making his first team debut in 2007/08, in which he has played an intermittent part in Frank Rijkaard’s first team. thankyou

As I think I've said maybe ONCE before, if we don't sort out distribution to Berba, soon we'll be watching the same guys failing to supply Bent.

Cracking site this, great to read all the comments too...I'm sure some of you guys are actually more accurate than the press at times!!! Cracking signing today, can't see him starting many games in his first season, an impact player for the last 30, to run at tired, scared defences! Modric looks the bollocks as well! Crying out for back up at CD though, have been for a while, someone of Woodgate's/Ledley's class would be great...hopefully those two could be ever-present between them all next season! It's all looking good...COYS!

Nice Site Harry!
1st time blogger, long time voyeur.

I have to say that I for one will be very relieved if or when berba leaves. I feel he just distrupts the harmony and attitude of the team when he goes off sulking thats not to say he isnt class! Plus nice bitta wedge for him ;-) lets just hope we dont get anyone in who is going to be the same! Another good catch with "johnny 2 Saints" hazza. Keep em coming!!

why would i change my name?? JGM didn't..

i can think of a few more names for you Dannyboy..

honestly you're becoming a small bit pathetic with these pseudonames for Berba.. i mean we all know you don't like him there's no need to go the extra yard just to try and be clever..

for example if i were to call JJ, "Jermaintevergonnafullfilwhateverpotentialsomepeopleinexplicablysayhehas Jenas"..now that would be just stupid wouldn't it?? but hey, what do i know..

roll on next season..

Quite honestly, I don't deny I have not been taken so much with the Berbatov era 2007-08. To those who know of my prior comments, stating the obvious. I have suggested selling him at prime market rate and replacing him with another player may not be the be all and end all. I also recognise his ability, too. If I thought he'd been giving 100% all the time I would have a differing view.

I do also think it is possible that by improving the overall talent, of particuarly the players playing behind the front two (from GK to MF) it could , bring about some improvement in an overall sense.

I am just scared that it could all go wrong (i.e. we manage only 5th or worse next year, which isn't unrealistic) and Berba could pack his bags next yr for half his current value, when we could have got a younger striker who would try his nuts off week in week out.

And yes Harry where is 9.37 Anon?

MS, if i understand correctly, if Berba doesn't sign a new contract this summer he can buy himself out of the remaining year of his current contract next year so we'll get bugger all while he does a 'sol'. If the rumours that he has been offered a new 2 year deal for 70k a week are true and he doesn't sign...well i think he'll be sold regardless.

EVERTON are weighing up a 10m move for THE Hudd.
I think selling Hud is a tough one because a good a passer as he is we all know that Ramos is looking for a highly mobile team which is Huds weak point. If however, he was played as one of two defensive midfielders in a 4-2-3-1 then I think he could do well as his movement is less important. Also, in that formation, possession and finding the wingers is essential to the team when attacking so he is an obvious choice. In 4-4-2 he can get exposed or by-passed against more mobile center midfielders which can cause the central defenders real problems. For me if he stays I think it may give us a clue as to Ramos's preferred formation.

Apart from that, I like watching him as there are few players that strike the ball as well as him in the EPL and in that he is like Hoddle. It seems effortless which is a rare gift.
