Another Deal With Barca On The Cards

Thursday, 26 June 08, 08:16 AM · Comments (56)

The Ramos Factor rocks on. Following the successful signing of Johnny Two Saints, the Catalans are queuing up to shake off the sunshine and sample The Smoke.

The player being offered is second year youth player, Adrià Carmona Pérez. The proposal was that the player comes as a transfer or even perhaps on loan. The boy is said to be a senasation on the European under 17 scene. A true left footed left winger with fantasic pace and technique. A great dribber with good vision. Not mt words, but those of futball.com. The offer came into The Lane this week and more proof that Tottenham's profile under the new regime has been significantly raised.

At this rate, our junior team is going to end up packing more punch than the first eleven... :P

Ollie, I think my headlines were '95% Done' on Bentley and 'In For'... in relation to Gomes. That said I would expect to see something official to appear soon. Also mate, remember that Ince has

only been there days... And it is unlikely given we only have one slot to fill under the heading 'Goal Keeper' it is highly unlikely we'll sign one before Robbo's gone. Not impossible, but
unlikely.

This is looking like fun. We'll be able to field our 'second-string kiddy eleven' against the scum.

Harry - this news is odd as it almost suggests that some kind of mutually beneficial arrangement with Barca has been reached. I realise that knocking a few million quid their way in exchange for a few of their players could be seen as mutually beneficial enough, but I wonder if it goes any deeper than that.

Nine_Thirty-Seven, interesting and precisely in the way you suggest. I don't have any other info, which is a pity. But it would be interesting to see if this 'relationship' between the two parties blossoms.

May as well get the chap, no harm in a little gamble.

Word everywhere is we are offering £8m plus Lennon for DB. Seems like we will be paying over the odds for him.

More worrying though is news that we are after Crouch and Benayoun - why? We already have squad players of their capability.

Sounds promising Harry

Im a firm beleiver in the theory that if you're good enough you're old enough.

If the kid is as good as he is made out to be then 2 questions have to be asked

1- Why are they offereing him to us?
2- Why should we take him on loan see how great he is then just let him go back to Barca, career prospects enhanced and they get the benefits.

I would like to see us take him on loan with the option of a permanent deal at the end of his loan. Iron Clad loan contract so they cant change his value when he shows how good he is.

Keep up the good work Harry!!

I rate Crouch. I genuinely like his work. But this story has an air of 'shoe repair and key cutting here' about it.

Crouch you say? Also suggested as a replacement for AC Milan bound (if his agent, Phil Smith's, aspirations are to be realised) Adebayor, by self-proclaimed 'super agent' Vincenzo Morabito - acting for Adebayor in Italy. Interesting as when Spurs and Arsenal are both 'in the frame' for a player, in my experience this usually means one probably is (and the other isn't) and an agent/s/ or club/s would like to expedite matters. Portsmouth have had a bid for our robotic ex charge batted back already and Man City have also been accused of 'firming up'.

Harry, besides the football relationship (if there is one), a little psychology may be involved in the recruitment of this dude. Assuming he could come purely on merit of his ability, it will surely help him and Dos Santos to settle into N17 life and feel less isolated if they arrive 'in packs' or small communities.

I've often thought that signing Modric (apart from his presence as a player) could benefit Berbatov (as would the signing of Arshavin), because of their eastern-Europe backgrounds. Players can't perform if their minds aren't right - as Robbo's example shows.

Cheers for the news. Power to the Ramos.

Alonso or Gaba (Gareth Barry) aint guna happen now but maybe it blumin shoulda...?
If we do end up catching someone loike Diarra and praps Bentley or even SWP ent we in serious danger of having the most diminutive midfield in England - along with Modric, GDS, Lennon?, Steed, Zokora (ahem) we will brushed all over de place.
PS. isnt David Bentley a bit of a fecking bell thatl probably only last around 5 minutes - why not SWP on stilts for christs sake...

Gomes and Bentley. Harry, we have prayed and still waiting. How long does it take to prove they can run on a treadmill for 90 minutes (medical)?

Perez sounds awesome and youtube video looks good (as they all do). I reckon he could be a more exciting bench prospect than 'eyes-to-the-floor, multiple-stepover' Taarabt!

First thoughts..... SIGN HIM UP NOW the guy has got a fantastic left foot on him and the cross for his assist was first class. (its the kind of cross Aaron Lennon wishes he could hit!)

I know he's young and yes its another youtube compilation but you can see from how he beat his man and how he took his goals that he has talent.

Like i said before.... ''If your good enough, your old enough''

yo Dave Mackay, i think it is you who needs to lie down. Bent is a proven prem striker who can score 20 a season no probs. dont ever see that from crouch.

before you start whining on about his lack of show last season....

may i remind you about Berba's first games for spurs. he was so negative he was demoted to bench. but he slowly gained confidence and grew into what he is now.

if bent had a little more support from fickle supporters like yourself, and you stop expecting every new spurs signing to be the next zidanaldinho, he and players like him may have a chance to survive.

on a completely different note; it occured to me today that the gooners have been excusing their 5-1 thrashing by the mighty spurs due to them playing their 'youngsters'.

these same gooners are now saying 'who cares if Falmini, Hleb, Henry et al have left. we have our youngsters coming through...

but surely we've already found out that their youngsters are, well.... erm... lacking.

Well I have to say I have always been dubious over the one man band's of football team news etc.... But GDI Harry you have won me over. I am pleased to say that I for one am pleased over the likely move for Gomes, I hope Bentley is brought in (not at the expense of Lennon), but we are still in desperate need of a centre half (Ledley has a bad record and I would not be willing to place all my trust with Dawson). Another right back as the Chimp was not himself this season and wants out either way. A left midfielder and a striker if Berb is off.... Any news for any of the above Harry?? Tall order I realise for a response on all.....
