Obligatory Bents Signs Visual Gag
This is almost like a purple patch.
Christ I just gave myself a mental image of a post coital Barney The Dinosur reclining nonchalently, blowing smoke rings from a Gauloise Le Blonde.
Moving swiftly on, an 'ITK' on a Sunderland board swears blind, 'Done deal, things just have to be ratified by both sides. All agreed verbally by both clubs and the player, things just have to be made official. Theres no rush for things to be announced as lots from both sides are on holiday but it WILL go through.' Linkageness HERE.
BIOYC!

£8 million, that's half price. Believe the deal may happen but can't see Levy choking on a 50% write down, that's not how he rolls
Reply to Cheap as Chips:
no way darren bent is worth 8 million hes worth about 12 million because he got like 17 goals last season and he wasn't even starting that much
My ITK seems to think its Villa or another London club. My ITK is smarter than yours!
just been reading all these posts and i've yet to figure out what ITK is, some1 put me out of my misery
Your up late tonight Harry. mind you so am I ??? Why cause Iv only just finished reading all the blogs from your last one about that guy from Villa that we dont want. Anyway back to business if Bents gone then HR has something up his sleave. Also think his got Young as Villa seem to be looking at left wingers and out of all partys interested Cheski dont need him anymore Man city would of just offered like a 100m or something and Real well no chance that only leaves us. Or am I dreaming and reading into this bit to much
Reply to keith:
£8 million is the figure given by the mackem ITK on the website link on HH's post. I don't believe it either Keith. Little Dan squeezes every last drop, and they're alleged to have quoted us £20mil for can't-win jones lol. The fee has to be bollocks, although the transfer is more than feasible.
Reply to dealnotdone:
I know someone that won £250,000 on Millionaire but I don't go to them for transfer gossip.
In the know.
Ok, been away for 3 1/2 weeks. Would I be right in thinking that fuck all's happened other than the Zok sale??
first off to the asker ... ITK = IN THE KNOW ..ie someone with inside information.
An on the subject of ITK ..anyone else heard that we've signed Viera on a free?? Dunno WHAT I think about THAT!
Reply to Danny_Blanchflower:
You would be very right in thinking that
I am so so so sad

Reply to supespur:
You sure. What does he offer us other than cover and good old piss being taken out of us
Reply to Danny_Blanchflower:
We've also signed pro contracts on some kids from the academy
. Yeah ok mostly tittle-tattle from itk's who this week have mostly been talking sheeit.
Huh!! Anyone else checked the link ..its from 13th JUNE ... bollox
Reply to 2DayArry:
Bugger. Are we just wanking into the wind, then? I don't believe we need wholesale changes, but there are areas of need we've got to fill....
Something everyone should understand by now.
Most transfer rumours are utter bollocks and most quotes regarding the fee are utter bollocks.
The selling team will always big it up just as the buying team will always work it down.
Reply to onedavemackay:
He was becoming the Bent equivalent of a holocaust denier. I wasn't sure if he was Pete or repeat.
the link is a month old, it's true, come on harry, i know times are desperate. the date must have been a mirage in our desert of transfer activity.
Gentlemen - why all the panic. Give Harry credit. Wilson out of the blue has to be one of the most inspired buys we have made in the past 10 seasons. He has enough dollar to bring in great buys and he will. Calm down all and light a Gauliose.
I prefer this morning's ITK saying he was going to Blackburn for 13m
If he does go we need a decent replacement pretty sharpish, and if we want Peter Crouch, you can bet your bottom dollar Pompey will hike the price up to much more than his worth because they know we will be desperate.
Could be another 17million job, and on players like Crouch, that will be a gamble!
At least DB and Black Zorro would be reunited
LINK
I know were all desperate for some news but it's getting really boring reading such none sense particularly on the prices being bandied around.....
A few days ago, we were in for Jermain Pennant, who's gone to zaragoza now.....let's just be patient and see what transpires.
Bring back Frazier-Campell!!!
(just kidding
Just back from a very fine boozer, read that we have bid for Mirko Vucinic - Roma. Led to believe he is like Berbawank all the skill and a pair to match.
Reply to onedavemackay:
And me, I also like Bent. He came here to prove himself but he did not win most of us over.
That is by the by, I for one would like to thank the guy because without his goals we would also be in the mix with NOCASTLE
What is that crap mate!!!!
keith, i'm still waiting for joe cole to sign!!
Clicked on the link but couldnt really understand what they were saying, not sure what language they were speaking but could someone translate. All i could make out was something about Steve Howay
It's not Barren that's been sold it's PSB LINK
Oh I give up...

"Lots from both sides are on holiday"?
Surely lots from both sides are all back and training by now?
The outcome may be correct but it doesn't look like a current story.
everyone seems to think they have got someone ITK and it never f*ckin seems to happen these in the knows just seem like a bunch of w*nkers to me, the one you normally give us from your informant harry normally 75% are right, but these pricks on other forums claiming to be in the know, dont really know f*uck all, spose the lack of actual activity at the lane has only left us with these ITK storys to read and there are some bored ppl somewhere seeing how far their fantasy ITK information willl actually go
im a bit frustrated with this transfer window to be honest, no signings yet not much in the papers coz its all about city and all were left with is these poxy ITK's whose info never actually comes off, similar to the stuff in the papers i know but atleast they might have a small amount of substance or credability as they are putting their name to the info unlike these ITK who cant be named
lots of crap going on guys and all ive been doing is reading it all day everyday! every year at the same time we get suckered in. i'm texting my dad in italy and my brother in cyprus nearly every minute with all the rumours and i, along with my fingers, are worn out! We just, im afraid, have to have patience. i cant believe some of the shit we are being linked with. pennant has gone to zaragoza (ssn)cant believe benty would be allowed to go for 8mill. unfortunately everything is just speculation and while ive been suckered in for years i think its high time i calmed down....a tad at least. im sure we'll have something going on behind the seens, although some of the rumour mills ive read on th ITK site talk about real mediocre players and im a bit worried. i believe we'll go after a central def(either an old head like dunne, a secret foreigner or an up and coming youngster) left winger (love to see this little argy kid, but anyone with real pace to burn and who can cross would be nice) 2 strikers (someone in the mould of.....wait for it....mark (ur just a fat aussie wanker) viduka or a real powerhouse of a center forward lke who i dont know but for me, the real position we should be covering and have only just addredssed in jan a def midfielder. as much as it pains me to....VIERA is available. a season or two at most and maybe cover for sgt wilson but a must for away games and it would really f**k those woolwich w*****s off. there are some up and coming youngsters and some old heads we should look at. sorry boys, the little ones crying. have faith dont believe some of the tripe doing the rounds. and unfortunately for us supporters, the club has time to make the right signings. i just wish they'd harry the fuck up. COYS
No sign of any Spurs being tapped by the NOTW. Obviously not interesting enough. Oh for the days of Gazza.
Phone transcript from recorded by NOTW between Alan Shearer and Steven Taylor;
AS: Reet Tayls yer my captain I want you to push the teem tomorrah against villa. We need to stay up to get are bonuses reet?
ST: Yeah nar probs we'll win. Piece of piss like.
AS: you' fookin better like, otherwise i'm off and i'll mek yer dress like naaana's next season and all our 'ardcore fans will stay home watching jimmy nail on the telly.
ST: naay fear boss.
if you are just going to sell average players to raise funds for average players - why bother.
wheeling and dealing for the sake of it.
I cant believe im saying this but if we are selling Bent just to buy carew, crouch, jones, rasiak etc then I say lets just keep bent.
Same applies to Bentley.
This is what Redknapp has done to me.
Up until the arrival of PSB last January, my thoughts of Darren Bent (especially after THAT miss) were that we should sell, and thats putting it mildly.
However since PSB and our subsequent late season push for an unlike Europa place, I found my opinion of Mr Bent changing gme by game. He seemed to be working harder than before, and still chipping in with goals at a decent rate.
Think we might be missing a trick to be selling him now, might come back to bite us on the bum.
Reply to jolsgonemental:
That's what i've been thinking about Thud & JJ, maybe not everyones cup of tea but both would be snapped up by teams in similar positions (Villa, Everton etc). These two are probably on the 2nd tier of England players (in that they can't quite make the squad but with a few injuries might just) As such the better players are Carick, Fat Frank, Gerrard, Barry etc none of which are coming our way. I'd much prefer us buy someone, then sell as we may end up not being able to replace with better.
Even Zok, not the best but who are we going to get in as a DM bearing in mind we only have Wil's in the entire squad who now plays this role (maybe JOH).
Reply to Ginge1:
expect harry to splash out 8m on a far from brilliant, yet versatile utility squad player - to provide cover for Wilson.
Reply to jolsgonemental:
'far from brilliant, yet versatile utility squad player'
Now there's a chilling prospect...I make you right.
Reply to Brendan:
The problem Bent has , Harry doesn't rate/like him.
Maybe he is no worse than Carew or Crouch, (his scoring record must be better) but it looks like he will be replaced by one of them.
Harry has been in this game for years, give him some credit, he knows the sort of player he likes to work with and the system he likes to play, maybe, despite all his efforts, Bent just isn't Harry's type.
Can I change the subject for a sec to John (trash) Terry?
Trophies for instance?
If all the rumours are true that a big bid has come in from Citeh which fecking huge wages attached, why isn't he coming out and saying I'm staying at the chavs? He's on 130k a week, captain and playing in the champs league; isn't that enough for the muppet?
Am I really that naive that it is all about money and nothing else?

Rumour flying about he was in a car crash. Personally I think it's just a stunt to get out of a fine for using a disabled bay.
rafa benitez doesn't hold back going by todays newspapers.
as for spurs, we will be top 6 this year so what do we need to challenge the top 4????
i think spurs can still offer contracts to top players and they will be set for life, it's just a case of getting the right players..... A fit Carew would be fine by me ( champions league experience and finally someone who can hold the ball and be lethal in the air ).
lets hope man city buy eto'o ( would be a HUGE waste of money ) and we do an argy double with tevez and maxi like the good old days.
yes please - tevez, maxi, de federico, cole, baines, carvalho
no thanks - crouch,dunne,bellamy,etc
sorry peeps....bored and frustrated.
to dare is to do
Reply to Ginge1:
Thats sense being spoken.
Albeit that its a bitter pill to swollow, we cant compete on transfers like we did in the Gazza era. No way we're going to break any transfers records and as such 2nd tier players are our only option, the thing that Harry does well is polish a good percentage of them into top tier players.
I for one have faith in the man and his record at Spurs cant be faulted, so still cant understand the negativity.

Wouldn't disagree about Harry not liking him, but the point of these other targets is that they offer an option which we didn't have last year.
Bent doesn't offer anything different from our current crop.

I too refuse to believe.
More chance of Arsehole Whinger bumming Daniel Levy in the centre circle whilst juggling Lion bars, to the tune of "It's raining men".

Agree. Carew or Jones (although far from top notch) would bring some much needed muscle to the attack opposed to the hiding, pointing, shouting, falling over or running away tactics which seem to be favoured by our current mob.

Maybe Arry's confused in this window cos when at Portsmouth he just bought anything Spurs were offering, like Davis, Mendes, Kaboul and Defoe so it's probably an existenetial headf*ck now he's bought Chimbonda, Keane, and Defoe again. Perhaps it's been quiet on the transfer front so far cos he's been tied up in negotiations. with himself.

I'm bitterly disappointed!
I thought you had footage of the incident, which had me thinking that maybe, if I thought about that, and it came true, that maybe, just maybe, I had the power of imagination becoming reality. So I've been sat at my desk, imagining really really hard about Keeley walking in wearing nothing more than a cheeky smile. Imagine my dissappointment when I opened my eyes, to discover it was just my boss standing staring at me. I felt really uncomfortable, not least because I had an erection.
Thank you Nick.
I take heart and consolation in the fact that in a time of great uncertainty, when the transfer window provides more anxiety than discovering a rash after a trip to Prague, that we Yids can laugh and .....laugh some more about the debacle that is 'Shopping for useful talent'.
We lack the wages, the lure of the champions league, and in some cases the weather to snare those prized assets that we deem necessary to climb the dizzy heights of the premiership.
But who cares. We are used to it. The blitz spirit is here amongst us chums, so lets deal with the rationing of sustenance and eat the bully beef with pride...for we are Spurs...and nothing much has changed...for a change..nice!
Have any of you sad tossers ever slept with a woman? Why get so worked up about transfers at Spurs? What will be will be. Is the average age on here about 14? Whatever your opinion or my opinion, we know eff all about professional football in comparison to Harry Redknapp, unless of course you are really Alex Ferguson in disguise. Who are you to judge Carew, Bent etc, and who are you to criticise if we don't sign some twat that can do a step over on football manager? Get a life, FFS.

doesn't matter if you're a teenager or an old fart....i look forward to watching spurs and jump around like a looney when we score great goals and win well.
I don't play any stupid manager games but I play at a decent level of football to understand what's what.
players are bought for stupid money these days and i can understand the reluctance of spurs throwing their money away.
WE ALL KNOW WE NEED SOME LEFT SIDED PLAYERS AND A SLIGHT CHANGE UP FRONT.
The reason we have all these silly rumours on various sites is that they make money - how many times have you read the same story but with a different headline.
and yeah, i've fucked loads of stunners - leave the ugly ones for serious people...
I'm with you on harry, he'll do the business...it's just that
the games are so tight these days, it's worth paying a little bit more to get the players rather than missing out ( arshavin is a good example ).
as for bent, if sunderland have actually offered 12M,fucking take it (with performance extras), otherwise it will all go horribly wrong.
I reckon IH is just a little tease...

Such vicious words written from the safety of behind a keyboard from some of you.
By all means have an opinion and share it with whoever you like but there are other things in life than worrying about gossip on the web. No doubt you all got worked up about the imminent arrival of Pennant and Cisse (admittedly so did I when I heard about that Cisse), but both are now safely abroad seemingly without a hint of Tottenham interest. I must admit though, a perusal of the the footie sites does put in the odd lunch hour.

of course there are other things in life worth worrying about. But the idea of these blogs are to give and recieve opinions/gossip/laughs on our football club.

if no one acknowledges it. it might not happen.

That wasn't Peter Crouch, that was the stakes i've just delivered for Harry's runner beans.

Keith woulda told us if it were true. Therefore, no-one is taking it for truth.
Not really, but appreciate the sentiment.

Have we totally given up on Bentley by the way, or does anyone else want us to keep him and try to get him back to form?
An on form DB would be a serious addition, like a new signing. It's as though he never joined us anyway!
I thought he was gone, but not so sure now?

A friend was telling me on Tuesday that a deal was verbally agreed with Crouch and we were simply waiting to sell one of our other strikers, before it was finalised. He said it was from an ITK, but I took it for what is was worth at the time, but if your legit then I will be taking a lot more notice in the future.

Bentley doesn't seem like a 'roll your sleeves up and prove 'em wrong' type of bloke and after not getting a look in at the end of last season, I cant see him staying for any other reason than money. Personally I've given up on him.
Huntelaar is going to Stuttgart.
Surely we can match stuttgart.
Hes a proper player, not like crouch who is effectively a circus freak masquerading a s footballer.
at this rate keeping Bent is looking like a more and more attractive proposition.
And before anyone says it, no Crouch is SHIT in the air and holding up play.
Reply to Jonders:
I was starting to think/hoping maybe he was carrying an injury or lacking fitness, but it was probably just that he was weighed down with excess hair gel.
Reply to jolsgonemental:
There's nothing circus freakish about being six foot seven, I'm nearly six eight
. I am actually technically a "Giant" and have it on my passport! He does need a good meal though and some serious weight sessions. The fact his head's shaped like a 50 pence piece is my issue.
This probably hasn't been said before, but I've noticed that for a big man he has very good feet?
Reply to HarryHotspur:
jgm - the only time i have really praised crouch was when rooney got sent off against portugal and crouch held it up really well, other than that i get frustrated with the amount of free kicks he gives away.
this signing would be exactly what we are all worried about - not splashing out a few extra million to get someone special ( crouches wages will be just the same ). he is just about the best out of the bad lot were linked with lately.
on the plus side, he is a proven prem striker
Reply to Poshspur:
isnt 'nearly' 6'8 commonly referred to as 6'7?
Reply to jolsgonemental:
Ha! Fair point. I'm very hung over. I think I was trying to suggest I'm an even bigger freak.
I'd sooner have Crouch than Bent though, purely because I think he'd make a better partner for JD, but it's a close call.
Ideally it'd be Huntelaaaar.
Reply to jolsgonemental:
Crouch's aerial abilities and his hold up play score badly on the shitometer, but Bent's so bad he broke the machine.
Am I right in thinking that Davspurs wasn't far off the money with his 'drugs in football' speil?
Old news but nonetheless on the money: LINK
Maybe writing without punctuation doesn't make you mental.

You refer of course to that wonderfull piece written entirely in upper-case to put emphasise on the subject a few months back?
Anyway, I've got it on really good authority that Pennant is going to sign for Spurs....
Peter Crouch not at Pompey training today, according to their official site he is on extended break with other internationals.

Also from the local paper there.

i just cant picture him in a spurs shirt; it dont seem right to me....know what I,m saying?
It wasn't that long ago that Harry Rednapp said his WIFE would have put away the chances Bent had last season... I think Brucey should save his cash... Spurs fans do you realy think Bent has been worth the 16 million you spent on him...There's NO WAY you'll get that money back. If you do I hope it's not from Sunderland.

Looks like Huntelaar is on his way to Stutgart?
WTF?
Surly London and the Premier League would be a better option for him?
The only good thing about him going to Stutgart would be than Manure looses another target

That's the ticket! Many blogs/forums have been flooded with his work. Thankfully he's recently learned to express himself 'sans' CAPS lock. Much easier on the eye.
But no less bonkers.

If weve sold Bent for under £15m then Arry is getting a brown bag, us fans may think hes shit, but hes English and scores goals, he he was at Everton, Villa, Newcastle, they would be quoting us £20 odd million, if we were going to pay £20m for jones then something is seriously up thats for sure in the name of the sandbank one.
I am starting to feel like were a pension pot for our new manager, he may not fancy Darren bent but there is no point selling our player cheaply when we have no major funds until next summer to replace them with.
harry you are so unbelievably poor at this. you just say what the most likely thing to happen is - and u say its happened a few weeks earlier than it actually does. so either you're a genius because it does actually happen, or it doesnt happen and nobody remembers the shit you spoke. you are pathetic. i think if i look back you have a 85% plus of being wrong.

Jesus. That has given me a nasty flashback to a wet night in east london watching the reserves against the spammers.
Once we'd stopped laughing at his legs the consensus was that the 'stork' was 'best in show'.
The rest of the night is a blur of booze and a cheap curry that allegedly contained lobster. In East Ham. I was so young and so naive...
