- Dimitar, how do you feel among this constellation of football stars in Manchester United?
- You can see how happy and excited I am. My dream to play football on the highest level and count sterling in another English City has come true. I want to show the best I can in Manchester. I play for Bulgaria and if I play well, you will write well. I would like to open another bank account here and give a big thank you to all the participants in this transfer and to the management of Tottenham, who gave me the green light at 2340hrs last night to pursue my goals. I am also grateful to the players and the fans of FC Tottenham for not burning down my old appartment. Still, I think the biggest thank you should go to my grasping, whoring pimp Emil Danchev.
- Who was the first person in Manchester United to tap you up?
- Manchester United have been interested in me since I came to play in England. They made me an offer while I was still playing for Leverkusen, but it so happened that I went in Tottenham. Thus the management of United could see what eye rolling I can do on the pitch.
- What's your goal in Manchester United?
- My goal was to put on the red jersey. From now on I am focused on my performance in the team. I am now part of the strongest football team in the world. I will find it a challenge to defend my reputation of a good sulker and manic depressive. I want to give joy to the squirells of the world.
- What did you say to Sir Alex, yesterday?
- I am flattered that he gave me so much of his time. As you already know, he personally came to pick me up at the airport and drove me to the camp beneath one of his very own blankets. It was a shock to me. Mr. Ferguson is a nice person and it was a sheer pleasure to get to know him even if I arrived smelling of dog. But so off with the formalities now he is my coach and I am one of his players.
- Was there much water tension before the transfer?
- The relations between Manchester United and Tottenham are quite tense and some minor clashes are quite normal, but the important thing is that all ended well and Mr Gil allowed me use of the facilities once I was out of the car.
- Why didn't you accept the offer of Man. City?
- I have other priorities. Money is not all important. I wanted to play in Manchester United and I was determined to join them. I can live on 1,000 pounds, as well as on 50,000 pounds. It makes little difference for me.
- Will you manage to focus on the qualifier against Montenegro?
- I am a professional, so I have to do it. All I am thinking about now is my hair. I should be a paragon for professional conduct, but I must admit it's not that easy.
- Is it true that you no longer dream of Spainish money?
- While I was playing in Germany, the Euros felt good. I had a dream of going to play in Spain some day. I liked the style they have there with wire transfers, but it so happened that I came to play in England as I feel the Queen's head adds character to the notes.
- The number 9 jersey in Manchester United has been worn by such football legends like Giggs and Cantona, do you feel it heavy on your shoulders?
- There are many idols in United. Maybe this will not happen, but I do not want much ado about me. I want to integrate in the team and to show the best I can do on the pitch. "Wha a faahkern debut use collected poarmssh will have against a team as schtrong as Lillapul!?" Sir Alex told me before he lost his balance.
I have played in such important matches, but I know I will be feeling butterflies in my stomach!
- Rooney, Carlos Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Berbatov. It sounds very good, doesn't it?
- As we say in Bulgaria... The turnip in my hand is the one my Aunt chose for me.

Reply to he's a yiddo:
Been torturing myself reading and re-reading ManYoo articles on Berba all day.
Some poor 4 yr old child in my psyche is hoping that there is still one more announcement to come re: a striker.
It's like waking up on Xmas morning and, instead of finding a shiny new...
Have to agree with you there, altough there is no chance of any strikers comming now!!
Harry, how long before citeh start to target Arshavin & co?? i think we may well regret not passing those Russkis the reddies they wanted for him.
Every time we will get linked with a player now the blue mancs will just come and stamp all over it with Arab enriched pennies!!!
i hope that red nosed twat ferguson chokes on that bulgarian prick, i was pissed off with keano going but at least he didnt wine like a byatch, hopefully the knob will break his leg on his debut and get right up ruldophs nose, there aint no way on this planet that the idiot wont fall out or want to go to a bigger club like real madrid, all the blokes done has used clubs like a stepping stone and man ure aint no different !
when i woke up this morning i almost shat where i sat - due to the bizarre selection of cup tied players on de books. Furthermore, the inevitebility of the'Bulgarian fuck' situation was there for all to enjoy but strangely, when the deal was confirmed i found an unbridled hatred that ive only ever experienced once before
in the summer of 2001. Never thought id feel that strongly abart it - Irish punch and judy show was only ever great with the Bulgarian fuck - something young Torres is discovering.
Frankly I still believe Ramos knows wot hes doing but there is a strong possibility that without a competant DM and three strange strikers WE ARE FUCKED.
I wait with an oiled up bumhole.
Many thanks.

Thank you mssrs Levy and Commoli for stating the obvious.
I shudder to think that Heskey was the "experienced" striker they were trying to bring in. Commoli absolutely has to go. His scouting is ridiculous, his inability to secure a deal is obvious, and he is fr*nch.
F-off you frog-faced muppet.
OK so we're not happy but as my ex-wife and the mother of my child still tells me that the glass is half full....The curse of being a Spur's supporter is that we are forever half empty....notice I said ex as I left her in a London hotel on a rainy Sunday, last day of a vacation to London, to run down to Selhurst to see a bore draw with Wimbledon...Barmby scored...near the end of Ossie's reign....
Fact...neither Keane or F&*$atov wanted to be here and I don't think anyone can argue that we didn't receive full value for both....and as far as F&^%atov does anyone seriously believe the Prem League would act against Scum U?? Our sense of pride would not have brought more money for him in January. We cut our losses for a very tidy profit....
Fact, outside of AA and HH the pipedream, the alternatives were Heskey, Owen and today Doyle all of who's upsides were cancelled by equal or greater downsides (age, previous knocks, and skill).....It is fairly obvious that Zenit wanted 100% of the fee upfront and it seems that is outside of the norm.....
Fact...we do not know yet if Campbell has a designated price tag at season's end...At best, we have an England under 21 striker under contract if desired, at worst we have a stop gap that will not cost us after use which brings me to........
Fact...No Panic Buys!!!!!! I have one word to emphesize the last point Raziak!!!!
Yes, we all wanted another CB and DM but life is not perfect and with the clear out, the roster is far more role focused then it was a year ago....there are only 4 senior players banished to the reserves and one of them has a torn up knee....
So option 1 is that the window could have gone better!!! Option 2 was being stuck with a depressed Bulgarian Cancer with a diminishing return and no guarentee of punishment for Fergie the Red Nosed Alchoholic. I will take option 1 and at the end of the day applaud DL for getting maximum value for those who did not want the shirt.....
Glory, Glory!!!!!!!!!

hello. utd kiddy on work experience as our backup plan.
This is obviously the real interview. Thanks for tracking it down Harry. My problem is that I want our players to love the club like I do. They are just so disloyal it really hurts. I hope Pointy Shouty and Berbatoss have a rotten season and win nuthin.
I think Citeh and us will share the spoils this year because I love Pavlova and he will score for me.

Mr Gill says that the deal is not permanent for Campbell so i geuss we are just "helping" them......again!!
CHECK OUT THE SPURS WEBSITE
COMOLLI HAS RELEASED A STATEMENT SUMMING UP OUR SUMMER ACTIVITY. ALSO MENTIONS THERE WAS A DEAL IN PLACE FOR AN EXPERIENCED STRIKER WHICH FELL THROUGH AT LAST MINUTE BLAMING 'AGENTS' ON TEH COLLAPSE.
Doesnt help us when going into UEFA CUP action with Darren Bent and Frazier Campbell to pick from up front. And they keep listing Giovani as a striker. Is this to take the bad look of our strike force???
Comolli is a tosser - fuck off you prick!
shouldnt be tryin gto conlude such vital deals at the last minute then should we.
trying to be too clever, ended up begging utd for a reserve player.
tie up importanty deals in advance.
i hope to god we go out of UEFA and CC at the first hurdle
Not being over there and never having watched the reserves..(deferring to my superiors)..Is Peckart that far away ability wise that he needs to be bloodied at Soton????
LINK
intersting read, they've admitted we'er short up front (no shit sherlock) and gone on to wish all the departed players well except for berbatoss and psb!
He also said he's been a United supporter all his life and always wished he was born in Govern.
The decisions we took to allow the transfers of Berbatov and Keane were made after close discussions with the coaching staff. Juande was clear, and I believe correct, in not wishing to embrace any player within the dressing room that had no desire to play for the badge of this club and for his teammates. Under these circumstances we had no option but to sell these players.
Did they have them at 23-40 last night then over berbaToss???? No so why wasnt a player lined up ages ago instaead of acting like a neurotic damsel in a department store at 4-50pm on xmas eve?
the worst thing was no acknowledgment from berba to us spurs fans not even a thank u i enjoyed my time at the club and your support not even a thanx for bringing him into the EPL and giving him a chance.
Your so negative.Leave my club alone your no better than the media. If you dont like it fukc off too chelski or man shity.COYS.
My first post on here, and thanks for that link to the statement, it realy excited me that statement on the website and i still love to see that in the top corner we still have Keanooo not another miss and Berbasulk with chimbondasulk on the website, omg spurs sort it out!!
I must admit im gutted about the no signing of a great striker but the love affair still continues!!
Harry great pic the fag was a nice touch son!!
If noone was available then noone was available...
I, personally, have decided to move on now as i still believe that we have a vastly improved squad than we had last week. The horrible cloud over the team has dispersed and they can get on with the business of playing now.
Imagine if everyday you came to work you were faced with the rat, and press asking you every day of the week what was happening? Imagine reading the press and seeing it in the papers every single day and how quickly your optimism would evaporate.
The fact is we were obviously a team in buying mode and prices therefore rose accordingly, and most likely unrealistically. Daniel Levy must have thought that he could hang on for the right price, or keep him but as he points out- this is no longer practical, he could have bought out his contract for 2 million in the summer. At least he achieved one of these goals, even if he didn't sign another replacement.
This team has a ring to it:
GOMES
Hutton Woodie King Bale
Corluka
Bentley Modric
Jenas
Pavlova Bent
and there are but many variations... we have T'Hudd, Zokora, J2S, Campbell, Lennon, Gunther, O'Hara too.

Only Benty can play in those games and if the opposition are anything like last time out he'll be revisiting Hatrick City and possibly be made Mayor.

The agent was always the problem here. I always felt Zenit were pretty straightforward although there was word they wanted the money much quicker than is perhaps standard.
The allegation that the agent was to be on £2mill commish was one thing, but I wonder if Levy faced the same crap I did with a third party having their hand out?
The Denis Lahter fella was all over the press last week supposedly 'in shock' and blaming Zenit.
All I can really add is that I haven't spoken to Denis, but his mate Vlad was pretty horrible. The ZSP Director was pleasant and very CEO like.
My guess would be that this deal was Toilet Ducked by an agent.
that's a real bullshit! You have no idea what person is Berbatov - all you know is - Sun, Daily Telegraph, Mirror and etc. Berbatov will be back at The Lane and you will be surprised of the good reception he'd get.

Not sure what all the bonestroking was about re: Arshavin.
Since the start of the 2007 Russian league season, the chap's put in over 70 games for club and country. League, UEFA Cup, UEFA '08, UEFA SuperDuper Cup.
He's 19 games into the Russian league season already. And some of you'se wanted to buy him and chuck him straight into the most intense, physically demanding league in the world, plus three other cup comps, for another nine months and expect him to be all that and a bag of crisps?
Do give the Spurs brass a little credit for running with the periscope up. Pavlyuchenko had a little less action with Spartak and arrives better rested and prepared.
This was a cock-up waiting to happen. Arshavin, as a hard-running midfielder, is a high-mileage unit with worn treads, badly in need of some downtime and a tune up.
Not remotely worth the money and the harsh terms Zenit were demanding. Crafty barsturds.

Right people, transfer window over - squad is as it is for the next few months, moaning will make no odds at this time.
Lets get behind the team, no injuries to Pav, Bent, FC and we'll be fine for three months.
Overall our squad looks good maybe an extra striker or more experienced striker instead of FC and a quality DM. Other than that we look good. How many other teams could say that?
How much toss have we in the squad now? Not much (Rocha / Ghaly) if we fill these gaps in Jan (+ maybe an out and out left winger, we'll be not far off!

As we all know City have been taken over by Suleiman Al Fahim of Abu Dhabi Group, I have heard they have around £1.73 trillion pounds at least altogether.
City now are technically the richest club in the world.
Due to the work I do, this morning I have been told some interesting news which could effect us.
Abu Dhabi and Dubai are fierce rivals and are constantly trying to outdo each other. The Dubai Invesment Group, who tried to takeover Liverpool are furious that Abu Dhabi group have taken over City and made the headlines this morning with the Robinho signing.
What I heard this morning is that the Dubai Investment Group as of this morning have already started to desperately try and find a new Premier League club who they can take over, so that they can compete and not get outshone by the Abu Dhabi group.
Clubs on the list include Spurs, Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle. Spurs and Arsenal are the two choices they would rather go with as they are in London and they believe that they have greater potential/history etc.
The Dubai group are as loaded as the Abu Dhabi group and whoever they takeover will definitely spend loads of money as they want to be the number 1 owners in the country. Spurs are the favourites to be taken over as of this morning.
That's what I heard this morning guys, I'll keep you updated.
Funny enough, I wouldn't have wanted this to happen a few months ago but after last night, let the good times roll I say
Heard a guy on the radio this morning who brokered the Citeh deal, he said there were about five Arab investment groups ready to do deals.
I'm not sure how many of them want to become Yids tho.

Bring it on, every team in the league will have a sugar daddy within 10 years so we might as well get ours early.
How wonderfully ironic, how deliciously, delectably, and utterly Tottenham it would be for Arabs to own the darlings of the YidArmy.
On the other hand, once Barack Obama gets America weaned off oil and petrol dependency in his second term, it could spell disaster for the Arab economy.

Because these days loyalty is not rewarded by these owners - yeah there could be short term success and money splashed on star names but therein lies the problem - they do not wear the crest with pride and on yesterday's events these clubs act like vampiric vultures in the transfer market - we, us, the fans, are the ones who can truly kiss that badge with pride, THFC is our soul not a bloody investment and certainly not some cretin's plaything. Yeah I know, business is business and all that but I would much rather have someone in charge of us who really knows what THFC means to us and would not stand for our name being trampled on even though he is prone to the odd **** up

Seconded.
'When the Arab investors decided they wanted to purchase a Premier League football club, Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool were also in their thoughts before they settled on City.
The Manchester club was the choice because Arsenal's major shareholders have collectively agreed not to sell to anybody in the near future, Newcastle were quoted at £400m and Liverpool were deemed poor value because of the need for a new stadium.'
- We're safe for now then...
'The prospective owners are promising to make even more of an impact in the January transfer window.
Speaking to arabianbusiness.com, Dr Sulaiman revealed he had set his sights on Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Arsenal maestro Cesc Fabregas and Liverpool striker Fernando Torres.
"Ronaldo has said he wants to play for the biggest club in the world, so we will see in January if he is serious," said Dr Sulaiman.
"Real Madrid were estimating his value at $160m (£90m) but for a player like that, to actually get him, will cost a lot more, I would think $240m (£134m).
"But why not? We are going to be the biggest club in the world, bigger than both Real Madrid and Manchester United."

Glad you agree. You've just got to look at Chelsea for instance. I wasn't at the game on Sunday so I had to make do with Sky and it's posturing pro-'top 4' anti-Spurs commentary team and all you could hear for most of the game was the battle cry of the faithful Yids. All Chavscum could muster was the sound of prawn sandwiches being munched. You see it is still the fans who have to foot the bill of the superstars' wages. My mate, who is a good lad for a Chavscum supporter in all fairness, is on a reasonable wage but hardly goes nowadays because he has been priced out. Chavscum's regular clientele now likes to 'just drop in at Chelsea, dahhling' before doing the weekly at Harrods. Result - no ****ing atmosphere. And I don't want to see Spurs like that

Why is anybody shocked by Berbatov’s move to Man U? It is plain ignorance and a deviation from reality to get annoyed with Levy over this? If a player wants to leave a club, they leave, get over it, bloody grow up and accept it. Levy had to try and stick to a hard bargaining line or else he Berbatoss would have gone sooner and for much cheaper to Man U, that’s called business, which has now replaced the bygone football world that most people on here seem to think still exists. I consider we must back Levy with the events of the last 2 weeks; where I believe he is at fault is not ensuring a decent replacement was brought in over the summer…you, me and everybody in football knew Berbatoss was gonna go this year, didn’t we? Without doubt the biggest set back was the loss of badge kissing darling Keane because none of us saw that coming after his ready to sign for life comment…Lets be fair Berbatoss’s behaviour was dam right filth but we also expected him to behave like that, he never had faith, but you know and I know it was Keane.s departure that really gutted N17….Keane and Pavlyuchenko wouldn’t have been too bad up front, would it? COYS Lets lick our wounds and get behind the team and please don’t take it out on the Campbell kid

I think the issue most have is that there was no replacement. I think Levy did well to drag the £30mill out of United. That was good negotiating given he was unlikely to go anywhere else.
Cant say I disagree with the thought that something screwed up last minute... Would be good to know who was the last minute deal that fell through.
Having said all that we have a squad good enough for top 6 come Jan and, with teh addition of a striker in Jan, could be challengers in teh 2nd half... .. just need to get teh midfield scoring and supplying.
Frankly I have no animosity towards Berbatov at all. I think he’s done the right thing. He’s going to go on now and become a global star something that unfortunately he could never have achieved staying with Spurs.

That's probably true, but utterly depressing.
Just got is and decided to expend some vitriol on the F.A. inbox, I still can’t believe that the rule states that a club can break the transfer rules as long as it can bully and bribe the target club into not making a complaint. It only adds weight to argument that the investigation into corruption in football failed to find anything because it was instructed not to.
If it carries on like this the F.A. will leave Football with all the credibility of American Wrestling
Dear Football Association
I would like to complain about the abject performance of the Football Association (F.A.) and question your ability/suitability to continue as our national sports governing body.
After watching live television containing images of Manchester United plc and their representative Sir Alex Ferguson blatantly breach transfer regulations with the transfer of a player from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester United I am left confused as to whether F.A. rules only apply to clubs without financial muscle or personal influence. For any club to ignore unashamedly the F.A. and its rules would suggest that they have an unwritten impunity to the sanctions that would normally be handed out to any less influential club.
When this latest debacle is added to the lack of action following the conviction of Joey Barton for serious assault, the meaningless fine handed out to West Ham United over the Carlos Tevez affair and you persistent ineptitude in dealing with massed cheating (i.e. our overpaid but under educated professional footballers diving/feigning injury with the complicity of their managers and clubs) the F.A has consistently proven itself to be an insincere, impotent and pointless organisation. Any governing body that is too frightened to discipline its charges or enforce its own rules should be disbanded and replaced forthwith.
Normally to witness the massed ranks of the F.A. cowering pathetically in the front of a lone, red faced and probably inebriated Scotsman would be worth the admission charge on its own but this is where any amusement is treated with a caustic coating of reality. As a youth worker I frequently experience the consequences of your pathetic attempts to govern a sport/industry that has a disproportionate influence on the behaviour of young people.
If your hierarchy could prise their collective lips away from every wealthy and influential backside that is pointed in their general direction perhaps they could start earning the ridiculous salaries.
I wait expectantly……. for you to conform to the fat cat stereotype and do nothing except pocket another lovely wad of cash accompanied by a bottle of Alex Ferguson complimentary plonk .

I wrote to the Premier League about this and it seems you can tap up who you like, against the rules, but if you do not put in an official complaint they don't care, even if they watch it happen on TV. This is their reply. Dear Bob, Thank you for your email. The Premier League is able to act on matters such as this only when a complaint is received from a club. In this case no complaint has been made at this time, but if any club is unhappy with the conduct of another they have the opportunity to contact the League and ask us to investigate. If that happens then we follow a certain procedure, investigate and then act if it appears that a Rule has been broken. Please be assured that when we do receive such complaints they are thoroughly investigated and that the Rules always apply equally to every club. There may be plenty of speculation in the newspapers but we do not comment or act upon rumours or conjecture. Thanks again for taking the time to write to us. Kind regards Communications Department

Yes m8, I continue to be disappointed with the F.A. not particularly over the tapping up stuff but over the deliberately ambiguous rules that offer a get out of jail free card to the rich and powerful.
Football clubs, their players and managers are important role models for young people and it would be simple for the F.A. to rid the domestic game of a lot of the undesirable influences. The Joey Barton incidents have been the most depressing, action should have been taken but the F.A. chickened out and passed the buck.
One of the most influential parts of a young persons development is looking for boundaries and the way they witness boundaries being implemented fairly/unfairly/not at all.
If it was just about football I’d quite happily laugh about it, its only a bloody game after all, but particularly in deprived areas it stops being about kicking a ball about and can have a hugely detrimental influence on a young persons development. The very last thing they need is another bad role model.
Society gets the youth problems if deserves unfortunately the youth of today and tomorrow often don’t get the society they deserve.
Yes m8, I continue to be disappointed.

Jumbo - I'm afraid the future you fear is already upon is, whether it's the Chavs, Manure, or even our beloved Spurs. The Premier League is now, let's face it, nothing more than big business. Someone on here said earlier they hope the new ManShitty regime don't f**k up the game. Well, the game is now a business, played by power brokers, who use the teams we grew up with in our collective hearts, like bobbles and trinkets. A player goes here, another there. Huge sums of money are spent. Players get rich. Owners get rich. Advertisers get rich. But as you correctly point out, it's us fans who pay for it all - those of us who can still afford to that is.
In America (and I'm most certainly NOT American) those who really love the game of basketball watch the NCAA college games, because the NBA isn't about the game of basketball, it's about marketing superstar athletes and using them to sell sneakers to kids. Players so rich they can no longer relate to the average Joe (despite often coming from dire circumstances themselves) are poor role models, much like Mr. Barton I suspect. The Prem has unfortunately followed suit.
I'm not sure of the answer. How can the clocks be turned back? Maybe true fans of fotball ought to give more respect to teams in the Championship and below, who are fighting the good fight with a loyal fan base, blue-collar players, and owners interested in the game, not the limelight? I don't know.
I do know that the bigger and richer the Premier League gets, the more I begin to dislike what it represents.
I don't understand this hatred of Mr Barton. Are the people who slag him off all middle-class mummy-boys; or what? The 'post-er' above is a smart guy, no doubt, and commented on the fact that a lot of today's sports stars come from humble beginnings. Indeed, some had violent, abusive, hard upbringings: as Barton undoubtedly did. Surely it is great to see such people rise above their the social standing they were born into, and try to better themselves. I wish Barton the very best, and hope to see a better 'person' emerge over the coming years. Time done is water under the bridge. He is paying for his crimes, so let the man be.
Barton, I love your fighting spirit.
I didn't even read the interview, and averted my eyes from the picture.
Why would you want to? It's akin to looking up your ex on Facebook, and muttering unsweet somethings everytime she puts up a bikini photo or makes a new friend with broad shoulders and stubble.

There is a role model issue here - but then any parent with an IQ in double figures who tells their child, 'I expect you to take your moral and ethical lead from professional footballers, son" wants shooting for everyone's good.
I think on balance you're right. Football or at least footballers need to be mostly judged upon what they do on the pitch.
I enjoy chasing Terry's ambulance, but as I've said before. Occasionally great footballer - dreadful human being. There is a divide.
Barton? No, I wouldn't want to be trapped in a lift with him. But as a player he has desire in spades.
What he could do with is more brain, but that's another show...

Spot on Enzo!
Alot of the disillusioned fan speculation is that we were trying to buy at 20:00hrs. If so, then this is completely unthinkable and idiotic, however I am more inclined to believe that all the primary targets were clearly unavailable well before the final day - whether their clubs wanted too much money, wanted stupid payment terms, or whether they just didn't want to release them unless a huge figure was on offer.
We have a 'team' good enough to do well through to January. Just like a long distance, we simply need to keep up with the pace and then if we can start sprinting in the final stretch - we've always got a chance.
Again for any 'supporters' that simply want to buy glory, theres another option for you to support now that Shitteh have free spending owners.

As 'they' say, we've got to be in it to win it. If 'in it' reads 'rolling in it', then the Dubai Investment Group is as good as any other. It's a funny thing this Middle East mentality - family and honour are of utmost importance. Were our club to be procured by DIG, Spurs wouldn't simply be a rich mans toy (see chelscum) but would be made to be the worlds best - purely out of honour and a my one has to be better than yours attitude. Its also interesting to note that whilst world economies are going wonky, the oil rich Arabs will be raking it in for many years to come - not just from supplying oil/gas to the developing economic giants of china/india, but also from their own shrewd investments in property and industry.
Spurs owned by the Al Maktoum family? Not such a bad thing for our beloved club. As for world peace, our Arab owner at WHL shouting "YIDS" would be an pleasing sight for most, however Irans leaders might get the right old hump.
