Coz Pav played for Spartak in qualifiers like Corluka played for Man.C in qualifiers.

But Im sure sometime after the Jan window when the Comps get to Quarters I think payers can play...... I think. The same rule applies in Champs League, so if we can get to the late stages were cool..... Pav can take us all the way.

I will guarentee now, next season, if not this Pav will finish top scorer in league, this guy is clinical, Like a Russian Ruud Van Nistle-GOAL.

As far as I read it we get him on loan for one year develop him, he is in the shop window should manure want to offload and what do we get out of this ...? A second rate striker who is still a Manure player and sits in the camp giving red nose inside information on who he should tap up next, given our feelings on Manure right now it just dosnt feel right if we had some kid from the scum in on loan how would we react to that ..? It has a random question that said 'what's the best Spurs blog site' (or something to that effect) I replied Harry Hotspur, it kept telling me the answer was incorrect - must of been my spelling!

My point being that you show no respect whatsoever. Odious is very much not the same word as Odyssey, as well you know. First things first, have the morons at Spurs Odyssey ever heard of the freedom of information act? Or considered that we have freedom of speach in this country. Does it really matter who reads what and where they read it? Are you offended because people dont visit your site? We are the 'lowliest type'? What??? By that I'm assuming that everyone who reads the content of Spurs Odious must take shits that smells of roses!! Anyways.... i think you Paul Smith (and your many guises, cos lets face it all your 'buddies' on here are you signing in with different names!) should get over it and gett back to reading the 'approved content' on your wonderful Spurs Odious.

Moving swiftly on......... As some of you have probably guessed, I'm a big fan of Chris Gunter and I think that we have a genuine gem of a player, even though he's a little rough around the edges at the moment. As said in the article, Gunter plays at CB for Wales but Ramos sees him as a RB. This is a good thing as it shows that he's obviously versatile and with a little more coaching and experience he'll be adept at playing CB & RB this will obviously be a great benefit to the squad. The article is indeed a good insight into what goes on inside the squad and its definitely a ray of sunshine on what has been a bad 48hours for Spurs.

Especially liked the bits about Gomes, Modric, Gio and Keano thinking Bale will be the best player in the world!! THAT MADE ME SMILE!! And worth remembering that Daniel Levy (yes the Daniel Levy that everyone slagged off yesterday) fought of Fergie to bring Bale to Spurs.

Well after a cathartic spew of venom towards our 'obviously heavenly' spurs odious friends and a bit of geeing up by young Gunter's words, I'm set up for a day of work and loving Spurs (i do the second bit every minute of every day anyways!)

They were both Ukrainians (spelling?) Rebrov was small in a very physical league and was in a gash team with no support from midfield etc.

Shevchenko was good but relied on his pace (which he left in Milan 1st time round) as such Chavs got the shell of a player.

Pav is a more typical British type CF in that he's big, strong, pacy and has played the lone striker against Terry / Ferdinand and did well.

Paul, is the solution that simple? Can you not stick a copyright notice on it and if harry does it again, sue him? If its original material and copied word for word and passed off as his own original work then there are the grounds you need. If not, then thank harry for sharing the Spurs Odyssey content I would not have seen otherwise - 10 years standing or not.

If yours is a grievance based on this blog having a greater(?) readership or something, then I would suggest that you address your marketing department. After all 10 years is an awful long time to get it right - yet I'd guarantee that a lot of Spurs fans will never have heard of you before. Sorry.

Before anyone accuses me of being a lackey, I'm not particularly a fan of 'HarryHotspur' as a person, tbh I don't know him or anyone else on here from Adam, but what I do appreciate is the well written, clever comments and such from some of those posting on here and on occasion HH himself. I'm with you re Gunter, I think he looks a proper player. Watched play for Wales at CB and thought he looked the best player on the park. I seem to remember seeing somewhere he plays both full back positions and CB which gives excellent versatility.
Then again I was a fan of Dawson's for his first 18 months or so!

hartlane2k - I was one of those yesterday morning that first thought it was a bad deal and then wish a spot of wishful thinking, hoped that there would surely be some clauses and its just a matter of time before he's announced as a permanent makeweight in the deal.

Southhampton was asked to take Pecker on because they have an excellent coaching set up. Its the reason why they have developed players like Baler and why clubs keep going there to see who else they've developed. A year on the south coast and a taste of 1st team football will do him a world of good. And on his return, he'll be mentally a lot tougher and assured. 3 things - if zokora did tell berbs to f* off, he has gone up in my estimation! He may have his limitations as a player but is clearly good for team spirit - that's probably why he got a contract extension. If anyone hasnt read it there's a very good newsnow article (dail m*il 08.19) - it seems very plausible and if I were Damien C I'd be feeling the pressure right now. We have to accept that at the mo we cant compete financially with a few clubs (or arent prepared to take Leeds style risks) so have to rely on tactics, organisation and team spirit - we did that very well against chelski and have a great manager and assistant; and judging by Chris G's comments the atmosphere in the squad should be vastly improved now - fingers crossed!

The problem with these new 'plastic clubs' is that they are living on a knife edge. It only takes a terrorist attack in Dubai to shft Citeh's new investors, or for the credit crunch to hit Liverpools duo of yankee's investors. The only club that has endless money is Chelsea and thats because Roman has so many investements and the Russian president on his side. If 'world events' change then all these new clubs that rely on commoditites etc will lose their money and the investment will dry up.

For example, Liverpool's new stadium has been cancelled/delayed due to the economic situation in America. We may not like it but Levy and ENIC run our club like a business that means in the long run we will never run the risk that these new plastic clubs are running.

Leaving aside the insults, there's a proper issue here. This info is taken from a messageboard, not the main site. The board is relatively private, i.e. there are some access restrictions, so people who post there are presumably seeking that privacy. Your site is open to everyone, and does not respect the privacy of that poster. Not only that, what if the info could be traced back to him by, say, his employer? I assume the guy is a journo. Consequences? Again, he didn't intend to publish this in the public domain.

Fantastic! Don't know when I'll next get to see the boys live and not just on the telly - some things you just miss out on if you're there to see it. On the sunny side, it does seem that the new signings have improved the team spirit no end.

Seeing him smiling chatting and shaking everyones hand in the tunnel before the match was brilliant. Almost as good as seeing King Ledders getting himself into the zone, and just misses out on seeing Ledley shoulder charge Anelka into the bilboards when the ball was already out.

Paul - thats the whole point. I tried to follow Harry's link to see what all the fuss was about and was immediately met with locked door.

If you want people to know about your good work (I don't mean the borrowed stuff I hear you post now and again) you really should question this approach for spreading info to Spurs fans and not just a cliquey little club you want all for yourself. By the way, from an aesthetic point of you, the gateway to your site is repellant - surely you know some people that can help you with web design, its so simple these days you know.

I'm optimistic but not as much as you! I'm thinking 2-1 to us. I can see Pavyluchenko (note the spelling Paul) grabbing the winner in the second half. Instantly making him a Spurs hero!

I think the Villa game is very important to us. We need to build on the second half performance against Chavski. Villa don't have a physical midfield and this IMO should benefit Modric and J2S. It will all come down to how we cope with Young and Agbonlahor on their wings. Woody or King should be able to isolate Carew and therefore disrupt their gameplan (if Carew can't hold up the ball / win the ball up-front) Agbonlahor and Young don't have someone to feed from.

Haha, the 12 year old insults are coming out now from the Odious boys. Next thing they'll be offering us out in the Bell and Hare beer garden. I feel (and hope the same), if we give him the support and stay behind him, help him settle etc etc i think the lad will be dynamite.

The only glimpses i have seen of him were at the Euros and against England in the quals where he got 2 of course.

What particularly impressed me at the Euros was his movement, he was a bit wasteful in front of goal but i feel that anyone who can ghost into position so effortlessly as him will do well. He looks athletic too which of course is a modern day necessity, he may need to go on the same weights routine as Berbatov did when he joined but thats all part of the process.

Ive never seen a lone striker create as much space for himself as he did during the Euros, I was really impressed. My only regret is that Arshavin hasnt quite made it to N17 yet so they could give us some of the scintilating link up they displayed in the summer. A New school Keane & Berba if you like.

On top of all that he appears to be a dedicated and hardworking player who certainly played the Euros with a smile on his face.

A fans favourite in the making i hope!

Ever the optimist, I'm calling on a 2-0 win. Pav & Supa Luka.

Can't wait til Modric settles in. I saw enough in the Sunderland game to suggest he's going to be awesome, so long as he's not deployed in front of the back 4. Not as effective against Chelsea but sure I saw smoke coming off his boots by the end of the game. He was everywhere. According to Gunter, most skillful player at the club- that mixed with a monumental work ethic= Yido froo n froo. COYS.

I think Modric's second half performance against Chelsea was great. He really was tireless in the middle of the park and despit his small stature he can also get involved (apart from when the dog terry clotheslined him!)

I think that he's more useful in an advanced midfield role. It gives him a chance to use his passing in a more offensive manner. Its going to be tought to find a partner for him though because JJ is now vice-captain and that makes it hard to drop him.

No seriously you're assessment of him IMO is spot on. The fact that he has a great goalscoring record at every level he has played at really shows that he can be relied upon in front of goal. His movement is indeed fantastic and if we can get Modric, Bentley & Gio can start getting passes to him and playing him into positions I feel he'll become a bit of a goal machine.

Really like Gunter tough decision over him or Corluka for RB at Villa. As i've said before re Corluka all my neighbours / mates support Citeh or Utd (more Citeh as I'm in Manchester )Everyone of them rates Corluka, every single fan I've spoke to has said they're gutted they let him go 'you've got a player there' was the most frequent comment. As such I have big hopes!

Think Gunter deserves another crack at RB. He didn't put a foot wrong against Chavski and In his previous 1st team appearances he's looked comfortable. Even against UTD in the FA cup. AND the bonus is he can play CB too!

As ginge said though, Corluka is a good player in his own right. I cant see him dislodging Hutton at RB but I wouldn't be surprised to see him play CDM when Hutton is fit again.

So in summary..... Gunter - RB, CB, LB + Corluka - RB, CB, CDM = Dawson picking bench splinters out of his lanky arse!

Looking at that line up, I would agree that as their most dangerous player is Ashley Young, we'll probably mainly use the pacy tenaciousness of Zokora to marshall him. We've got much better height and shape in our backline so we should more easily manage their aerial threat and no way will Laursen score again! they've got a lot of pace in their squad down the wings, and if we can stop this, we should be able to simply pass through Barry ReoCoco and Petrov.

I'd quite like a similar line up to the game against Chelski - defensively balanced with a great counter. After all, we are playing away and they will expect us to attack from the off. I can see us tough just bombing forward from the start and scoring an early goal with Pav coming on in the 2nd half to further consolidate our lead. I'd go for a 0-1 at halves, and then 0-2 with all the press proclaiming how good our new signings are and how they knew we'd be contenders after all.

TOTTENHAM youngster Chris Gunter reckons the club can still be a force in the Premier League this season, despite selling Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United.

I'd controvertially stick Jamie O on the left mid. He'd help marshall the side swapping of Young and Agbonlawhore, adding a bit more steel to a relatively an otherwise lightweight trio of Bale/Luka/other.

Also, Juande clearly rates OHara's deliveries - noting that the one who took the crosses after Bentley got taken off was Jamie. A less defensive line up would see Corluka/Jenas dropped and Pav stuck up next to Bent for the crosses to come pinging in.

Despite being a genuine ITK, I'm also a big fan of Gunters seemingly one man mission to bring back the no-nonsense black footy boot. Definitely one to watch.

Paul, there are several things wrong with this statement. Are you ready to find them? Let's begin.

i) This is not, and I would say there has never been material posted on this, or your, site that I would consider sensitive.

ii) Fanfare and accolade were attributed in equal portion not once but twice by identifying pedantry.com and ari gold specifically.

iii) You really do come across as quite the nose wrinkling pedant. It's quite disappointing to know that you and I could be sat next to each other in the terraces. I daresay if I encountered you resplendent in Spurs colours being done in by a couple of gooners, I would have quite the quandary on my hands.

I accept that iii isn't anything to do with the afore-mentioned post, per se, but it does represent the moment where the epiphany occured to me.

Can anyone tell me what an ITK actually is? I mean, as I understand it, 'ITK' means 'In the Know'. But what exactly does 'In the Know' mean?

I assume that all clubs have an 'In the Know' department which deals with the official release and dissemination of information. Any information that reaches the public domain prior to being released through officially designated means must, in some way, be a breach of copyright; or a breach of confidence; or a breach of scheduled and expected outcomes. And the agents responsible will not be considered exemplary.

Does a club informally correspond with and release information to agreed agents outside the 'official' media - the ITKs? If so, for what reason? Is this some method of appeasement, to ensure that the natives don't get restless (those natives, that is, deemed higher up the food-chain), and start openly questioning club policy on, for example, a (usually club-friendly) website? (Other websites that challenge the status quo, but deemed lower down the food-chain, would simply be discredited - a common tactic in politics and intelligence. As is spamming, by the way.).

If I talk to a Spurs player and then reveal the contents of the conversation, am I not then in breach of a confidence? That is, of course, unless the player specifically told me his comments weren't confidential - although, even if he did, why would I publish them, without the club official sanction? To do so could be detrimental to the player and to those he speaks of. And is the act not - if not a breach of copyright or confidence - a breach of common decency?

I mean, where do you draw the line over these things? Where is the 'ownership'? And surely all ITKs, unless official agents of the club, are stealing information and committing an infringement of some sort? If ITKs are an informal sub-division of a club, how does that account for the vastly contradictory claims they make?

My point is, I fail to see the point.

That's why this site is so good. We can be completely honest without having to reveal all our details, and it is why I believe that Harry's is a truer exchange of information and views than anything where you have to send a recent photo, cv etc etc before they consider you being allowed to join. In my book it's much better to identify the truth of a man by his honest words and actions, than by a set of required 'credentials'.

or someone completely in a world of their own where knowing some gossip that someone else doesn't know means you have a level of one-upmanship on the other person who is not in-the-know.

Petty little playground stuff as far as I am concerned unless you actually happen to be best mates/related to the players/coaches/management and are privy to actual business sensitive issues. Hence if I knew Mr Alexander and he told me sensitive stuff before the markets did, then my release of this information would be considered immoral and potentially explosive depending on the nature of the info.

Theres no being coy or modest with me, I try ruddy hard at times to get some humour in and am not ashamed to admit it. However I have to doff my cap and place my vote for yesterdays side-splitters of the day to 'nun' other than Nunchucks. And so far today, imho, no one has surpassed the sublimely honest humour of JGM message to Spurs and the reply!

For any Spurs Odious supporters still on here, as Captain Mabbsey and others have said, this is why we come here. I catch up with a few tidbits of the latest information/gossip, hear what other clever feckers have to say about it and every so often I am overawed by the quality of writing, reference levels, and humour. Don't deny that when you do come on - you are more than a bit jealous that your lot don't have as much fun. Try it properly sometime and not just slag it off. I can only aspire to develop the repertoire of writing skills that Harry and friends have.

I read this site because i find it funny and informative, who cares where the info comes from, after reading the comments from the geeks at SO (by the way really poor site, i have a mate who's a web designer, might be able to help) i don't think i can with any conscience join SO now, plus i always thought a sample of my DNA was a bit much.
