Gus Laughs Off 'Nothing' Job At Toon

gus
Gus The Yid

Well at least a few bookies will be happy.

But not as happy as us.

The speculative cobblers as per a couple of low rent publications today has been blown away with a few well chosen words on the vacancy at Newcastle United from Mr Poyet himself.

"It's very clear that it's nothing at all,"

Poyet continued..."I'm very happy here. I've had almost a year back at the club with Juande and Marcos. This is just speculation and it's all too easy because of my relationship with Dennis Wise. "

"It's nothing to worry about and all I intend to do is relax and continue with my job." Gus told the THFC Official site this afternoon.

Get in.

Now that's one scrap I'd love to see,

Gus "the Yiddo" Mackay Vs. Dimitar "Moody Sofia Softy Bastard" Bremner.

Over quicker than you can say "Amir Khan".

Thumbed his nose at the toon, as well!
He's staying with Tottenham,
And staying with Juande.
Gus Poyet's staying here with us and Juande.

Second. Anyone catch Sergei Rebrov's trash-talk assesment of the Tottenham district and the people who inhabit it?

Morning all,

Great news about Gus. I'm glad to see that he genuinely believes in Wendy's 'project' and lets hope he stays a yiddo for many more years to come.

IMO Ramos, Poyet & Alvarez are the best coaching team we have had at the club for many years and at this stage in our premiership career a certain degree of stability is vital. I know our squad has constantly changed but now that we have a young squad I'm hoping that the coaching staff & playing staff can 'grow' together. You only have to see how stability can help a club challenge for trophies by glancing at ManUre. Lets hope our board see that and try to keep the stability going at Spurs.

Here's hoping to a night where our international stars stay injury free and come back ready for our 3 games in 6days!! I cannot believe that the PL see us play on a Monday (Villa) and a Sunday (Wigan) when we have a european tie on Thursday night (Krakow) - Time for Juande to use the squad!!

Ginge - about that thing you were joking about...if you can use it through an anonymous proxy on the otherside if the world (where they might not have laws in force regarding that), that's probably the ideal if the bandwidth is good, although I haven't found out whether this is available/any good or not. Its also interesting to see whether 'Skai and Cetanta' are tracking these sopcasts/ p2ptv broadcasts in the same way as the music and film industry are monitoring limewire and the torrent houses. Then again - how many people have been successfully prosecuted in the UK for that? Lottery odds?

The FA appears only to be a friend of Manure/Chelscum. If Lord Triesman gets a few things sorted, we might have a fairer deal further along the way (if it's true he is a spurs fan).

It helps Arsenal that David Dein was up the arse of the FA for so many years.

Although since he left them have you noticed how arsenal aren't getting such a peachy ride of things??

Coincidence??

Anyone seen that Berba Bible bashing thing? What a terrible Manure spin. In his version does it not have "Though shall not lie?" What about the modern edition which says "Though shall not pretend not to have any money when someone tries to sell you a copy of the 'big issue' after you've just scored a ÂŁ100kpw ++ deal".

I think BulgariaSpurs said it best when he said Berbatov, Mayka ti duha na mechki v gorata

Its not a story thats been published in any of the big papers so it leads me to believe the journo knows what he's talking about. Clive Allen as new first team coach & Commoli out? Could well be. Although I hope Gus doesn't leave.

Cue palm licking, hair smoothing, tie straightening fervour, lads, before trotting out deal sealers such as "fox in the box" innuendoes.

Second. Anyone catch Sergei Rebrov's trash-talk assesment of the Tottenham district and the people who inhabit it?

JS. Comolli out is just a popular feeling. Who know's Danny's real mind eh? Clive would be a good 1st team coach. We already have 2 with Gus and Marcos, so why not 3? As long as they all had actual roles and learned off each other, then why not? If one falls by the wayside, at least we have some level of continuity. The idea of one person knowing everything and doing everything is obsolete if you want to run a business with a decent level of resilience. My thoughts - people have to sell papers somehow.

The story in the link suggested that Spurs will be ok with Poyet leaving as they will promote Clive Allen to 1st team coach. I for one dont want poyet to leave but if he does want to take the Newcastle job (it seems unlikely) then its his loss.

Looking at the Gus scenario from the other side of the fence as it were, Mike Ashley would be commiting footballing suicide in appointing Gus Poyet as manager.
Although everyone takes the piss, Newcastle are a fair sized club, not a million miles away from the size of spurs.

Can you imagine Tottenham going through all this type of turmoil, then at the end of it Daniel Levy appointing someone with:

no experience as a manager
no tie with the club

Levy would be hounded out of N17 by the next morning, and the same would happen to Ashley.
It just aint gonna happen!

Morning all,

I think it is safe to say we can put these Gus rumours to bed now.

Hoping there are no injuries tonight to our players. I hear we asked Russia to not play Pavo as he has an injured ankle.

What channel is the Wales Vs Russia game on?

Watched Bale and Gunter for Wales the other day and it looks like Bale is getting his fitness and confidence back. LOVE IT!!

COYS!!!

I should imagine the Wales game will be on SKY as they had the Wales game live on saturday.

I didn't see it but apparently Wales' best players were Gunter & Bale. Lets hope Russia play Pogrebnyak (Zenit striker) instead of Pav. Would be typical of our luck to see Pav get injured before he's kicked a ball for us!

The way Gunter has been going on he sounds like he's not scared to get stuck in against Pav.

Like i sadit hough, lets hope Pav is benched and Pobregnyak gets a game up front. Its Bale i'm worried about. If he's out our left side will be buggered! We'll have to play BAE at LB!! :?

Great news about Gus and long may he stay at the club :D Just what was needed from him and he's not the kind of man to turn round and do the opposite now he's made a statement.

Like jamie said above hope the ruskie's keep pav on the bench so he's ready for monday night and that Bale and Gunter come through it well.

Its also from the bastion of half truths and shit journalism that is the 'Daily Fail'. I have never seen them break any top stories and there journalism quite frankly is piss poor.

Never believe what you read in the daily mail.

Ginge - I think I've got more of a shout at playing LB for Spurs than Giovani has! Giberto apparently plays there but he's in the Commoli 'bad buys' section.

I was thinking that the Northern Echo story on Gus seemed more plausible as it referred to very different points that have not been talked about in the usual national tabloids.

I hate the Daily Mail. Journalism is poor and it is predominantly geared towards the top 4, in particular Arsenal. The sports editor appears to be a scummer as 99% of the stories they write about Spurs are very negative.

Didnt mean to cause offence old bean.

I'm off for the day. Lets hope tomoro morning we'll have a fully fit squad of players, Pav, Gunter and Bale are all best pals & Modric and Corluka have destroyed the damp squib that is the england team.

COYS!

However I find it hard to believe that The Northern Echo would have a better source than any of the London based papers.

May I throw a spanner at the Poyet love-in.

Is this the same Mr Poyet who assisted Wendy in motivating our boys to go from 14th place to the dizzying heights of 11th, after proving themselves capable of beating arse 5-1 and chelski 2-1? The same Gustavo who helped prepare our glorious preseason heroes for the two disastrous opening games against teams who finished below us last season?

Don't get me wrong; I don't consider Gus & Wendy rubbish or anything silly but league wise particularly, they've got it all to prove.
Losing Gus would be annoying due to the disruption but far short of devastating.

The jury is very much deep in discussion.
