"Let's take it outside so, you and me, let's go," Robbie Keane

Sunday, 08 June 08, 09:20 AM · Comments (42)

Michael Carrick,  Jermaine Jenas, Jamie Rednapp, Shay Given, Jonathan Woodgate, Damien Duff and Ledley King were amongst the guests at St Alphonus and Columba Church in Ballybrack, Co. Dublin yesterday for the €100,000 wedding of Robbie Keane and model bird, Claudine Palmer.

The pressures of the four day celebration got to Pointy Shouty bloke on day one as he spied a telephoto lens which had some how breached the hotel's security blanket.

"Do you want an interview? Do you? Do you? Let's take it outside so, you and me, let's go," he growled. When asked if he'd like to chat he turned to the other players and let out a loud laugh.  Staff then attempted to calm Robbie down as he flapped and waved his hands in protest at the media's presence. Well it was either a member of the press or the Tallaghtfornian was having a flashback to an offside decision.

The Ritz Carlton I understand is partying on today. The bar that was supposed to close at 7am this morning will be reopening and there will be a BBQ this afternoon for a second wave of guests.

Try not to get any fried onions down your shirt, Bob.

Modric 1 Austria 0... Top priced 18-1 to be first goalscorer too, as the penalty taker!

Wow' Carrick's bird looks like his mum. But well done Shay Given! And congrats Keano. By the way - it's funny how all the players are identified in the photos except Dean Richards. Poor lad, nice armpiece too!

Also.. Go Modric (just don't get crocked).

Loving Modric. FIrst goalscorer for my dream team. Didn't realise the lad took penalties.

For every forward pass he has made you know Jenas et al would have gone backwards.

Think how sullen he will look after the Croatia game when he realises he is gonna be completely outclassed by Modric...

Think then, how he will be weeping when he see's mr giovani dos santos dart around with such grace and skill that he may well offer his wife as a sacrifice to save his own skin...

Well....apart from one run(that ended in a cross lennon would have been proud of) Modric was almost Jenasesque in his ghostlike invisability. On that performance we paid 10M too much. Still, mussn't grumble

Yes Bimi I did. Backed him at the same price to be last goalscorer too, fiver on each and did one of those silly scorecasts Modric first goal with 1-0 at 65-1 for a quid. Fully expected it would go horribly wrong to be honest!

ya Modric was muscled out of it in the second half alright.. but he's already shown enough to show that he's twice the player Jenas (or anyone else in the midfield) is..
he's very clever and has great vision and PASSES THE BALL FORWARD occasionally..

I was fairly happy with Modric..not a great game but he looked like he was doing a job for the team today and sitting deep and getting things going forward...he seems to have good vision and touch...he looked a lot better than anything we've had for a long while....talking of which, I went to the first home game of my local canadian soccer league team today (unfortunately the best live footie I can find without having to drive to Toronto) ..god i miss the old days when I could just walk down to "the lane" ...any way I digress..the point is..right in front of me is sitting a 10 year old kid in a Mexico shirt..no 10, name on the back..Dos Santos ...with his signature in black marker...i assumed this must be an extremely important omen and so I rushed back home to post the info here on HH ;-)

We need Ledley to get better, as Spurs are a much better squad when their captain is fit.

What I want to know is why the Dos Santos medical is taking so long? I think we got the lad for a steal, but just how is that ankle on which he had operated doing?

Incredibly poor performance from France. I must confess I like what I've seen of Bafetimbi Gomis, saw him in the warm up a couple of weeks ago when he came on for Cisse. The French effort in general was wretched, but I saw Gomis take up some good positions when he came on with less than 20 mins to go. He seems pretty smart. Don't suppose he'll get a start, though.
