Man City In For Berbatov Hahahahahahaha

Monday, 01 September 08, 07:21 AM · Comments (396)

Just behind a packet of Cheese Straws in the cupboard that originally began life as one dedicated to 'morning goods' there's a bottle of 1998 Dom Perignon. I have moved it to the fridge in the hopeful expectation this tale comes off....

Breaking news on Sky Sports News is that the freshly purchased Eastlands Mob have tabled what can only be regarded as a megabid said to be in excess of £30 million for our truculant Bulgarian.

City as a business was sold today to a gang of British actors in Arab dress from the movie Love Honour & Obey by a Thai fraudster on the lamb.

What a coup this would be. Not for City but for Tottenham. A simultaneous snub to the Hibernian Hoochman and Squirrelboy.

Can all Spurs fans please stop what they are doing, make there way to their respective places of worship and say a large prayer please.

Gives us a much better bargaining position with 2 bidders. Or maybe we told Berba "Ok, Ok, we've accepted the bid from Manchester, get on the flight, their reps will meet u at the airport and take you for your medical. Either way, it'd be comedy if he went there!

By the way do you think City's new owners may have done a London Bridge. To explain: When the Yanks bought old London bridge they, allegedly, thought they were buying the far more elaborate Tower Bridge. Well City's new owners are Abu Dhabi UNITED!! Maybe that's why they think they're buying Berbatov.

Listen, I wonder if City 'owe us one'. We stepped back after the Corluka debacle and gave them a period of grace to get their house in order. I wonder if Berba was part of the deal. I mean, wouldn't that be a HUGE power-shift up there. Everyone wins. Berba gets to be with his mate AND he's quids in. We get shot of him for proper money. And Manure gets skewered. That, my friends, would be a result.

Provided we then reinvest in Plan A players. Make it happen, Levy.

Anyways....

I very much doubt Berbatov would sign for Citeh. The whole reason he's thrown his toys out the pram and downed tools at Spurs is to "achieve his dream of playing for Man Utd" so why go and sign for Citeh?? The same Citeh that struggled to get through the qualifiers for the UEFA cup????

He'd be better off staying at Spurs than signing for Citeh. I think he would turn them down unless they make him the highest paid player in British football that is!

Citeh are almost direct rivals for 5th spot this season and selling him to them would be shooting ourselves in the foot IMO. As much as I would love to stick it to that wanker Ferguson I would hate to see Berba in a Citeh shirt when I eat my cornflakes tomoro morning!

If they are going to let him go to Citeh then Levy best have an earthshatteringly good replacement / transfer in the pipeline!

Huntelaar will sign for Spurs, after Ajax accepted an £18.5 million bid this morning. Huntelaar to undergo medical at 5.30, after Berbatov completes his move.

Milito also on his way after agreeing personal terms.

Garcia staying put.

Veloso is very much...

It's on...

Mark Hughes has told Sky Sports News that Spurs have accepted Manchester City's shock bid for Dimitar Berbatov.

The Bulgaria international has been a target for Premier League champions Manchester United throughout the summer, but City have now stepped in with an audacious last-minute move.

City's offer for Berbatov is reported to be in excess of £30million and would set a new British transfer record.

Hughes revealed that a fee had been agreed with the North London club and he now plans to hold talks with the talented striker.

Hughes said: "I'm as stunned and excited by this as the fans are."

Dantchev would kill him if he turned down that contract!!

Still think he wont sign. I'm really hoping that Fergie comes out and puts in the right offer. I'll be hugely pissed off if Citeh sign him. We'd be strengthening a direct rival.

Still if Huntelaar is coming in then it will definitely soften the blow.

Latest on Arshavin and Veloso.

Veloso wants to join. No problems between the two clubs - fee yet to be known though. Will go right down to the final hours. Expect him to be one of the last signings we make.

No-one else on for Arshavin and despite what Zenit say, they want the cash for him to cover Danny. 32 month payment agreed.

Milito deal is puzzling. Yet to be known whether he will sign despite him already agreeing personal terms.

No clue on the Berbatov situation, neither do many others at Spurs themselves. Accepted the fee. Berbatov might regret acting like a twat as the players dont seem to want him there anymore and Fergie is unlikely to increase offer to match Manchester City's.

Update in about an hour or so.

Pavluychenko - £14 million - Done deal

Corluka - £8 million - Done deal

Veloso - £15 million - Terms agreed, subject to medical

Arshavin - £18 million - Terms agreed, subject to medical

Capel - £11 million - Most unlikely of the 4 to happen, but we have sent a medical team from within Spain to his club to go ahead with medical as soon as terms are agreed.

How the FCUK does that sound guys?

this would make a lot of sense for the following reasons;

1. No legal action re corluka

3. Is why Poyet & co avoided the berba issue
4. Not chased Manure for higher offer
