here's my notes..
1. fair play to Bent. but now let's see him do it in a game that matters.. so far so good.. i remain hopeful, open-minded but unconvinced..
2. the Spurs fans who started cheering every pass in the second half embarrassed us all.. there's nothing outstanding about ball-retention against Norwich..
3. Here we go again with Jenas..
4. Gio will be a star.. being nurtured at Barcelona is the bast footballing education a lad can get.. however the fact that they let him go so readaily has me worried.. do they know something we don't??
5. Berba was caught smiling on the bench..make of that what you will..
6. i'm glad we kept on to Ekotto.. i always said he'd be good and last night seems to have proved me right.. although again it was only Norwich..
7. Great to see Baler back in action..
8. O'Hara is eager but i still don't know..
9. Gomes looked sound enough..
that's all for now..

lennon looked as fit as my mum, really sharp i thought. Fair play to DB, lets get behind him; i think he needs the yid army firmly on his side
Bimi - yeah, only Norwich but get a grip mate; I feel suicidal after your comments. And as for contradictions "i remain hopeful, open-minded but unconvinced" what the fuck is that all about ?!
coys
Gio is exciting me! Comes laden with as much enthusiasm as talent. His name is going on my new jersey. Mdric, although a little light will be magic too. Its a pity that the fella from Darndale didn't stay on as he would have been magic latching onto to those balls knitted through the defence. We wait and hope. Bent could be the man to pick up the scraps as he did last night. And with the imminent arrival of Bently we look to have come from one of the worst midfields in the Prem last season to one of the best. The usual pre-season optimism is about the place now .. why do I get the feling its going to be different this year??!
We all have our opinions and we're all Spurs.
Normally I'd never slag off fellow fan's opinions or call them names, BUT watching some of our 'fans' interviewed before last night's game was more sickening than seeing Robbie 'I Loved Spurs, but now I Love Liverpool more' Keane, wearing that red rag.
I felt nothing less than ashamed to have those geeks affiliated with our great club and if any of you are reading now, go and take a running head first jump into your next moving spastic bus.
The game (especially the second half) was good though. Well done Bent.

hopeful & open-minded that Bent will continue to bang in the goals like he did last night but unconvinved that he will..

It's going to be different because we have a very good manager and Gus !
"it's a perfectly simple sentance.." written by a perfectly simple bloke?
what's happening to the real Berba then Derba? Is he still sulking? Warming benches? Has he gone yet? The sooner the fucking better. Anyway, great result last night Spurs - only Norwich, but who cares? Oh yeah - Bimi !!!

Cheers for the link to the goals from last night Harry!
Some observations following recent events:
1. Not a flicker from Ramos sat in the dug out as Bent scores four. Read into that what you will.
2. Berba sat on the bench finally cracks a wry smile when he realises that he will be joining he former strike partner on a fat wedge and CL football. Who are we kidding does he really care about our club?
3. Gio looking really at home on the pitch and interacting with his team mates. Barcelona's loss...
4. Bentley medical. Worse kept secret in football that he is coming to us. Your shirt is on your peg!
5. No coincidence that Dos Santos, Modric and Gomes formally introduced by the club today. Takes the sting out...
6. Keane trying to be diplomatic at today's press conference. Biggest traitor since Campbell.
7. Incoming replacement strikers. Take you pick!
8. With spine of a side from last season King, Woodie, JJ, Baler, Hutton, Lennon, Thudd there are a lot of new boys that will need to bed in. We need to be patient. However knowing Ramos he will probably prove the doubters wrong (including you Defoe) and go and win us another cup and snatch 4th place from the Reds.

Follow the guardian link below for the opta stats from last year. Bentley featured high above the only Spurs player in the list. One Dimitar "Ray Reardon" Berbatov. So we get 28 mill, lose a miserable nobber, pay 17 mill get a younger converted world-beating gooner who will do the whole job for us as well as being the highest number of crosses in the league for Bent or Palyuchenko or whoever teh 1 striker we play is. It is MAGIC business. We don't need Keano or misery guts, we just need a great lone striker who can nail them in surrounded by twinkletoed maestros.
Gomes
hutton - king - woodgate - bale
modric - jenas
bentley - arshavin - santos
bent
simply world beating - keep our 1st XI fit and we can beat any of them. Even lose a couple and we can juggle (Hudd/Lennon/Zok/Dawson/O'Hara/Paluchenko/Taraabt/Boateng/Gunter - all top class) With a bit of luck we will be top 3.
We lost 33 poitns from winnign positions last year (thanks Paul Robinson)and would have finished 4th on 79 pts with those in the bag. We hit the woodwork 15 times - another record. And our team is better this year.
Ah, foolish Spurs optimisim, this is my favourite time of the season, for until the 1st of September it always seem so clear that we are going to win the league.

Sensible observation Jerry. JR we have faith, what else can we do?
I hope Juande sees Bent's display this pre-season and won't want to let another one slip like with Fabiano. Fabiano didn't seem to get a proper look in until Ramos came to Spurs, but then scored 34 in 44. Perhaps he wasn't impressing when he got his chance, was injured, or couldn't budge the massive strike partnership that was Kanoute and (er... playing as lone striker).
Dazzler Bent's 'crisis' last season in my view was probably two-fold. 1. the keane-berba partnership was on fire. As good as JD and DB are, there's no way that any manager in their right mind would break that team up when it was having a proper streak.
2. Money. Huge fee = huge pressure to deliver. Fair do's though, he put the goals away when he did start. Perhaps a decision was made to play him less then they wouldn't have to pay so much for him last season? i.e. additional payments based on apps etc leading to the max £16.5m?
Yes, it was only Norwich, and we'll see in the next month or so whether he features regularly and who he plays with. Red rag mirror says that Arshavin is coming for £19m in next 24hrs. Well done HH for bringing the price down - and here I was thinking that either the Dame was in Russia as a decoy, so we could get ourselves a spanish Villa, and that your phone calls to the ex-KGB lot would do nothing but increase Smoothbum's price. With Bentley due to sign today as well, anonymabbut's line up looks psychic-ly spot on.
More decent signings soon to show Robbo what 'rebuilding' can do. Hopefully they'll be the sort that won't lose the fire in their belly over "2 seasons or so". What a quote! So Ramos came in and told everyone what...that he would not put up with Tubs of lard and mediocre players in his squad?
What I am worried about, is a lack of experienced leadership. Perhaps Luka with his character is a contender for VC and Gio as our new pep-squad? From the vid, he reminded me of RK just by being first to jump on Bent every time he scored.
Robbie who?
'Notes and observations,eh...?' I'll have some of that...
General ones.. Stephen Fry isn't going to score from the stand. Roeder needs to bite the bullet and give the boyt a go. Ferdinand is a snide git and the sooner he's on QVC sellling reversible flip flops the better.
1. Goal one. Johny Two Saints gives us the first indication of his very fast footwork and his boundless desire to attack.
2. Goal two. The ballbearing they put in King's knee needs oiling.
3. Goal three. O'Hara's sheer will produced the assist. Benty demonstrates the sort of finishing that made him expensive.
4. Goal four. Poacher's choice. Bent missed a number of them last season.
5. I think JR was emotionless as he EXPECTED Bent to score endlessly against an outfit like Norwich.
6. Goal five. Lovely.
7. Goal six. Lenno's wicked ball to Gunter.
8. Anonymabbut: "One Dimitar "Ray Reardon" Berbatov"
9. Bob Keane is an idiot.
10. Zokora & Jenas both largely invisible against a Championship side.
Bentley, Milito and Arshavin is comming to Spurs! When Blackburn saw how much we got for K***e the prise for Bentley rise. Spurs are still "working" on Capel, Villa and Veloso. Spurs are looking for a defensman with class, it´s a lot of talk about Bremens Mertesacker.
I see SSN are running some rubbish about Bentley being on his way to Spurs. They've even made up some nonsense about a bid having been excepted.
Just to clarify Harry Hotspur and his made up sources got this all wrong. There was no medical, never will be and this player has never even been to London. Nor is he planning to.
You are an embarrassment to real fans like me who spend their entire empty life trolling the Internet knit picking and whining. Will you never learn?

a good point indeed, god knows how good your brother could have been with the same coach behind him
Perfect - do you rate Mertesacker then? My fantasy football vote goes to Juve's Giorgio Chiellini from Italy - a country that dishes out good defenders for fun. Something in their water?
How good is Arshavin really? I watched a live tv stream of Zenit v Locomotive Moscow the other day, and he looked average at best - didn't track back. It also looked like he sweats acid - his eyes were barely open for most of the match.
As for Bentley - anyone else feel a bit dirty knowing that at least £5m of our good money is going to le arse? >

Your posts are top class mate, but I do call into question the sources that give you your info.
True some of your info turns into reality and Im not having a pop honest yet the "my mate works at spurs lodge" poster could have delivered the same sucess.
Not your place to dance to my tune but have your sources any info on anyone else apart from Bently?
Again, not haveing a pop, you do a great job and I love your posts, just saying how I see it.
Keep up the great work!
PS couldnt give a shit giving the scum £5 mill, they gave my Mother £680K for her flat!!
Anyone else think that Ekotto was miles better than Gilberto was? Personally, i thought gilberto was terrible! Did not put one decent cross into the box in the first half when he was afforded acres of space, didnt track back and really offered nothing going forward. I would much rather see Ekotto playing back up to Bale - Great to see him back!
Zokora - didn't do anything of note and was anonymous in the second half
Jenas - Worrying how quiet he was agianst a norwich side on the ropes. Although he seemed to be playing the holding role in midfield (his new position?)
J2S - what can i say... Magnificent, i know its only norwich but he was very influential.
Modric - looked good but needs match fitness and sharpness. Lookin forward to seeing him when he's got a good pre-season under his belt.
Gunter - Well played son. got forward well, stretched the play and when called upon he defended very well. A more than adequate replacement for Hutton.
Lennon - HE ACTUALLY CROSSED THE BALL!!! Aarron I take my hat off to you. I know it was only Norwich but you tore them apart. Bentley will be our first choice RW but if Lennon can keep up form like that then he'll be a great player to bring off the bench.
Gomes - Looked good but we'll have to see how he does against better opposition.

Trembly - Completely agree about Arshavin. I really hope that if he does sign he proves me wrong. As many of you know i'm worried that he wont adapt to the PL and we could have another Rebrov on our hands.
I'm on the Bent bandwagon! Give the guy a chance!! Feed the Bent and he will score!!

Jamie - from the vid, I was well impressed with Ekotto. Inch perfect cross for Bents bullet header. And his barnet was outstanding - you know how George W Bush supposedly walks around with his arms out palms facing backwards like an old fashioned gunslinger? Well I reckon everyone in the squad should get a Badger cut a la ekotto. The canaries probably crapped themselves seeing that thing flying towards them.
Lennon learning to cross properly and looking inspirational yet he's destined for the bench? Now thats what I call 'Strength in Depth"!
As for Gilberto. He speaks Portuguese - may be invaluable communicating with Gomes! Besides, the Spurs Samba show wont be the same with only 1 and a half Brazillians.

not really, Rebrov can get "lost" as a forward, there is no way smoothcheeks will go "missing" in a role behind a lone striker or two pronged attack. He is a class act but still think paying over 15mill for him is steep but hey ho; how else can we stop players like him joining barca?
Am I the only one sick of everyone trying to read Berbs emotions! One report said he sulking, another said he was laughing! He's never gives alot away emotionally anyway! He was sitting on the bench because he had a slight calf injury! No he did not refuse to play! They say a pictures tells a thousand words, in the case of the press it a thousand completely different stories depending if they are pro spurs or not.
I saw Ekotto a couple of years ago when Spurs played Inter Milan in a friendly, I think it was one his first games for us and he looked class then. He owes Spurs for sticking by him all this time, I'm sure he'll come good.
Dos Santos looked class, but like most of you I am not getting carried away as it was only Norwich!

bentlys done and arshavin looks set to follow, interesting times ahead, realy need a defender and i think we are ready, berbetofs a cunt buat if can keep him we realy could do something this year, hats off to levy
Gilberto was tripe. Ekotto looked decent and would like to see him play a few more games (the lad has been unlucky with injury).
Looking forward to seeing the Celtic game now on Friday.
Glad we seem to be getting Bentley and unsure about the Arshavin rumours.
Can we please sign an experienced centre back!

I'm getting massive deja vu from some of these posts of late. And you know your lack-of-football irritability had peaked when you become inexplicably agitated at statements that end in: "Read into that what you will." Start your verbose post with that, and you can bet the farm I'm not bothering to read the rest.
Have a word with yourself, you special needs advert. You should be more concerned with a world class manager leaping around and air punching in reaction to goals against a non-entity side in a pointless match. There should be nothing seen at Carrow Road that he hasn't seen before at Luxbrough Lane.
I forget who this rant is aimed at. Probably the ironically named Superspur. But it's available to anyone who feels it applies.
I thank you.

BD, what you talking about willis?
Jenas has good game playing a different role taclking was very good and was doing the work the zorka should have been doing. he drove forward and tracked back.
Gomes looked like the anti robbo and i think he'll get caught coming out of his box like the bald bloke who played for manutd.
sort it out china
I was very impressed with most of the squad:
Gomes - 8/9 - Had one dodgy kick, but came for everything including corners and was successful each time.
Dawson - 5/6 - Didn't have much time to prove himself, started off with one of his stellar passes across to Gilberto but was slightly shaky.
King - 5/6 - One cockup, hated himself, solid for rest of half.
Gunter - 8/9 - As the game went on, he went on and became better and better.
Gilberto - 8/9 - Really was good and reliable, does anyone else remember the skill he used to nutmeg the Norwich right back?
Assou-Ekotto - 9/10 - Very very impressive, defensively and on the attack, crosses that made chances, not crosses that wasted good play.
Bale - 8/9 - Only on for half an hour but was back to his legendary self, wanted to be a part of everything and gave his all. If only his bicycle kick had come off. It got a few laughs though.
O'Hara - 9/10 - Fully committed, true Spurs fan. Very good spreading of play and flexible to play in a lot of positions. Was fantastic.
Jenas - 6/7 - Had a few powerful runs, but unfortunately wasn't involved enough.
Zokora - 7/8 - Slightly shaky in midfield, very solid in defence.
Huddlestone - 10 - My MOTM, solid and pinpoint long passes. He defined perfection. And made me realise our midfielders were better in defence than our defenders that night.
Modric - 8/9 - He's no push over. Strong, willing and knows how to play those intricate passes.
Dos Santos - 8/9 - Lively, knows when to pass, knows when to shoot, and a real joy to watch.
Lennon - 7/8 - Didn't have long out but a definite improvement on last season in this game. Could cross and was a real help in attack.
Bent - 9/10 - First half, forgot he was there. Second half, what a rocket.
I may have been a bit high on the ratings as I'm still excited about the game. But, especially in the second half, the squad looked incredible. Tore apart Norwich. Even though they are Norwich.

Arshavin? hmm Does no one else fear a Rebrov 2?
Rebrov came in aged 25 and left at 28. Just before he left for Fenerbache he said:
"Glenn Hoddle broke my heart and my career. I am 100 per cent sure that if he had never come to Spurs I would have become a big star here. From the moment he arrived everything changed for me.
"I used to be the main player for Dynamo Kiev, scoring 130 goals and playing in the Champions' League.
"In Ukraine I was never substituted, never on the bench and I scored plenty of goals for the Kiev team and also the national side. It may be hard for people to understand but back in Ukraine I am a national hero awarded medals by the president. Never did I think life would be like this."
Looking on youtube for some more info on AA, it looks like he's more of an AMF than an out and out striker. Can he play the lone striker role? Probably not, but then thats not where Juande's likely to play him.
Would Rebrov fit into todays squad? I doubt it. But watching this fans compilation of AA LINK and trusting in the Ramos effect, I can actually imagine him doing well for us.
Some of us worry about whether he'll be another Rebrov because he comes from an area of old USSR, would be our record signing to date, and could fail to gel in the team. If its true that Ramos is sanctioning the reported £19m to buy him, then he'll have what Rebrov didn't - a manager that backs him, and a board that backs his manager.
If he comes and does the job, Nastroviya!

Nice and balanced, and finished with a fine dismount.
It tends to be forgotten that Rebrov's inclusion in the Hall of Shame is due in no small part to the machiavallian hand of Hoddle.
Arshavin gets my vote for the hole behind Bent.
Jamie I thought that was crap when someone said on here that David Bentley had his medical at Holly House Hospital why would he go there and not to Tottenham's training ground as per the norm? My mate said he would be signing and having his medical 2day/2moro.
the basis of the Rebrov MkII comments is one founded in the fact they both have soviet sounding names rather than any intelligent foundation.
Im bored of it now.
The potential of Rebrovism could easily be thrown at Modric or Dos Santos. But apparently is only a risk in players from the Eastern Bloc.
Right. Fucking great logic that.
What I am much more intirgued about is what crazy arsed formation we are going to employ next season if he and Bentley do come on board
By my reckoning we will have Modric, Dos Santos, Arshavin, Bentley, Jenas, Lennon and Hudd battling it out for 5 spots.
Not mentioning OHara and The Zok.
Arshavin--Dos Santos--Bentley

Arshavin? hmm Does no one else fear a Rebrov 2?
Rebrov came in aged 25 and left at 28. Just before he left for Fenerbache he said:
"Glenn Hoddle broke my heart and my career. I am 100 per cent sure that if he had never come to Spurs I would have become a big star here. From the moment he arrived everything changed for me.
...Nice and balanced, and finished with a fine dismount.
It tends to be forgotten that Rebrov's inclusion in the Hall of Shame is due in no small part to the machiavallian hand of Hoddle.
Arshavin gets my vote for the hole behind Bent.
Thanks Nunchucks, just pleased to land on my feet. Speaking of dismounts, does anyone know if we're going to be hit by the Beijing Olympics? I know we haven't signed Messi yet, but any of our squad in danger of being drafted to China by their national squads?
Nunchucks
I think you're right when you say that Rebrov's cause wasn't helped by Hoddle's arrival. But having said that he was never majorly impressive at Spurs or West Ham. IMO we signed Shevhenko light.
It always helps when you have a manager who believes in you and hopefully now we have a squad of players who have been bought in by the manager to play in a style of his making we may see a vast improvement on previous years.

Let's not entirely give up on a daft comparison yet
Surely we could rearrange the letters in Arshavin's name to make him sound like Rebrov... or something.
Maybe they both like cous cous?
There must be a link.
Either way we're playing 2 - 6 - 3 next season.

Are you not going to answer JGM?
I feel the first half of his post offers a Paxmanesque observation.
Plus it will might give me something to read while I munch my way through my Chicken Valentino - yours all over London at a Pret near you for the princely sum of three of your English pounds.
Now you mention it I have to agree that JGM's fantasy formation looks pretty good.
Hudd & Modric - Little and large combo both blessed with fantastic passing ability. Modric Works hard & is busy, Hudd is huge and if he learns to put it about a bit could be a real enforcer.
AA, J2S, DB - lacking height and physical presence, but incredibly skilful and definitely will create plenty of chances. My only worry is that if J2S plays centrally that he will be crowded and booted off the ball. Out on the wing he has more time and space. Maybe AA should be the CAM and J2S the LW???
If Capel comes in aswell we will have an abundance of options in midfield: LW - J2S,Capel. CAM - AA,JJ. RW - DB,AL. CM - LM, TH, JJ, JoH, DZ.

Prefer this airline myself. Never a complaint. LINK
Rubbish link. Sorry. Something to do with 'Fly with Beaver'. It was funny at the time.
Gomes wants to win the Prem. Top Five? Four? No, top! I like his ambition. Verily, he understands that it is better to get goals than to receive.
And more top signings on the way. This is all getting terribly exciting. With so many quality players coming to Spurs, Gus will have to hold up a 'Hazardous Materials' sign when they take the field, out of fairness to the opposition.
does anyone know how bad the injury to the "scottish daniel alves " is , im off to the job center

The Rebrov / Arshavin debate??
I have said enough on what my hopes and fears are about our friend smoothbum. It appears he is on his way to join our club (if the papers are correct for once) and if he does then i'll support him. End of.
I cant see is buying Capel IF we sign Arshavin.
I may be wrong but where the hell would he fit in? Would rather get ourselves a good CB or defensive midfielder with that money.
To be honest I was a little surprised about our desire to sign Bentley.

In fairness until the Norwich game, I was pretty convinced that Lennon couldn't cross a football. He has obviously improved that side of his game but I still dont think Bentley is a better all round footballer, and more importantly he can guarantee us goals from the wing. The last time we had someone like that was ginola.
IF AA comes i think he'll play the CAM role and that will leave the LW sloT free for J2S and Capel to battle for.
If we are serious about mounting a real effort for trophies and Champs league football we need quality cover in all positions. Thats what Capel would bring to the table.
I agree with you that we need a CB and CDM. If we are getting rid of Steed then why are we holding onto Zokora???
Bad news folks. Both Rebrov and Arshavin have middle names starting with S.

JGM. No offence intended, but I don't really understand when people ask where good quality players are going to fit in. The amount of good and possibly great players we are getting in should only be a problem for the management. Its what they're paid to do - balance out the talent on offer to the best effect.
Having Keane, Berbatov, Defoe and Bent all fighting for two places at Spurs was brilliant. People will point to unrest, competition induced pressure etc etc but for me as a fan to get to watch them fighting for a place at Spurs was like Christmas or birthdays as a kid. Which present do I open first, which toys shall I play with first, which one next, which one would I be most gutted if I lost it, or it got broken, etc etc?
Capel is a player that Ramos knows 100% and will know how to make him play the way he wants. Personally I think at £15m Bentley is a tad expensive, and we could have got cheaper - but is there a fire in Davids belly to play for Spurs that you can't put a figure to? Time will tell...
I'm also fed up of our competition hogging the talent. Last year Man utd, bought Anderson and nicked Nani from our grasp, when they had Hargreaves and Ronaldo and Giggs etc that played in similar positions. Chelsea chav hoggers that they are! Real Madrids juggling of Galacticos? Barcelona leaving players like Ronaldinho on the bench - now these are problems I wish we could have, and given the rate and quality of recruitment - hopefully soon.
We won't win anything decent without a squad that competes with our rivals, and has a winning mindset greedy for success. A problem only really arises when we have one good player that doesn't feel the rest of the squad around him are good enough (berba?) and we can't expect just one or two stars to cut it - we need a squad fit to bursting with them - just to hope to keep them level. Unless of course, their ego is that far off whack like Younes Kaboul?
Long live the era of the Spus Glacticos! I'd love it!
Trembly - another fine airing of views, and I empathise with your perspective.
However, I happen to share JGMs bemusement. If you're United or Chelsea, and are strong everywhere, then sure, splash out and get some heavy competition going for all places.
But, as we saw last season, having a world class strikeforce combined with a working class midfield didn't really do anyone any favours.
Now, we're in danger of inverting the same problem. It's early doors yet, and I'm sure there'll be some new talent up front before the window slams shut, but I for one will be extremely nervous if we spunk the last of our lunch money on Capel, leaving Zokora and Jenas as the only two members of staff duking it out for the DM role.
Arshavin will not join Tottenham but nothing new here. We have our players - we are chasing one other - Bentley to be announced today, with one other.
Yeah i reckon Bentley will be announced today too lol
Cheers
Oh and maybe "one other"
Makes me laugh when people try to make out they know the sketch.
We need a centre back/defensive midfielder!
What about Miguel Veloso? lol
Nunchucks. Yeah - sorry about the previous rant
I'm not at all saying we should ignore the case for defence. You're right - we do need the right balance. Various reports/rumours say that we're targeting Capel and Veloso next, with a top class defender on the horizon.
We're a self-sufficient well-run club in the black with a billionarire English businessman backing our Chairman who's also a fan. I know we can't ignore the financials, and theres no way I'd condone Spurs to do a Leeds, a Valencia or even get in dodgy yanks that put the entire club in debt. Just pointing out that the opposition are leaving us picking up scraps or paying excess to nick the pick of the bunch.
When we reach the upper echelons of CL and PL titles, these players will take pay cuts to join us and not ask for stupid £8m a year for the privilege (Eto'o). Van der Vaart won't consider us, but he joins Real for £7.8m - the same price we paid for a Kaboul!!!
With the funds the likely Berba (and others eg Kab to pompey) sale are going to bring, we should be able to still afford a Capel and a Veloso at the very least, and still score one more than the other team?

Bentley & Hudd as back ups.
Someone needs to stop JJ living off that free kick he scored against Man Utd about 3years ago!!
"He likes the way Tottenham play football and he is a big admirer of Ramos."
Quote from Arshavin's agent sounds a bit similar to Villa's quote recently(coquetishquotes.com anyone?) ...but still. Ramos IS the common factor!
Why can't Berba see this? If he stays, even till January as a compromise he'll be scoring goals for fun with that midfield of Arshavin, Modric, J2S, Bentley..Lennon, Huddle etc...Poyet have a meaningful chat - candles, red wine, classical music..romanticise the sulky b*stard!
Sorry jamie fell asleep watching the cricket, woke up three down. Fucksake...
Mean't to explain I would have no fear if we got the Arshavin who did so well in the euro's and the uefa final. My fear is that he was at best the ruskies 3rd best player against england. Will he get smashed off the ball in England (have the same fears about GDS and modric btw). I'd love to hope not but we've seen it all before with rebrov and postiga. Only time (and a hefty transfer fee) will tell. I'd imagine the bolton's of the world would fancy putting the wind up the three of 'em
Thanks for the quickie psychoanalysis, buddy. The cynic in me might wonder why whenever someone jumps to JS' defence to take a dig at me it's straight after JS himself has just posted...
But, anyway, JS - Can'tBeArsed - whatever your name is; I happen to have quite a lot of time for JamieSpurs, as I do for any passionate Spurs supporter. So, JamieSpurs, if your skin has not been thick enough to come out unscathed from the way I chuck my words together, to you I apologise, sir. I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

2. the Spurs fans who started cheering every pass in the second half embarrassed us all.. there's nothing...lennon looked as fit as my mum, really sharp i thought. Fair play to DB, lets get behind him; i think he needs the yid army firmly on his side
I realise (again) that my comments are massively delayed compared to the majority but I have to say...
Surely getting behind him last season would have been a bit better? What good are we as fans to get behind someone just because he has 1 good game. For every bad game or substitute role he had we should have been behind him like a fucking gale force wind.
That would have cheered the lad up no end because as we know, a 16.5 mil price tag clearly does nothing for your confidence.
I see you think i have that much time on my hands to fabricate a conversation with myself? Well I can assure you that is not the case. However the next time i need support in an argument I may try that!!
I dont mind having heated debates with any Spurs fan. As you say we are both passionate Spurs fans. The ying and yang of the breed maybe but both essentially hewn from the same rock.
In riposte to your choice of quote I'll say this; "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me"

true enough WT..
but the transfer fee aside, it was still awful hard to get behind him last year due to the ineptitude of some of his performances (bar his cameo against Pompey i think it was)
and to be honest i saw some of that ineptitude Monday night.. the only thing is that it was far outweighed by his fabulous performance in front of goal..

Hows that? thats not vague or even very is it?
Steed has gone then
You have to say fair play to Sunderland. They are getting some good players in (for a club that coming into it's second season in the Prem).
Keano (the Sunderland manager of which there is only one) is doing a cracking job.
Nunchucks
Your an arse, a funny irritable one though.
Got me thinking of unfortunate names and i still can not believe that Mr Dickov's parents thought it would be a great idea to call their son Paul!
Its heartwarming to see the spirit of chivalry is not dead.
Steed in Sunderland to sign, Kaboul to Pompey(I’m one of his fans and think that with the right coaching we needn’t be looking for another central defender but still Ramos knows best!), Bentley medical, Arshavin coming and maybe another one or two…Milito, Pavlyu.., Oliveira, Capel, Veloso..
“Just like fantasy league…just like fantasy league…this is just like in the fantasy league!!!”
Ha. Brilliant. You're ambulance chasing or you're not. It isn't rocket science.
In the real world, Highbury, opposed to cyber vacum where some lurk, ...things change. You need to embrace the concept before life frazzles you emotionally.
I while back, I used to enjoy the odd Guinness. Truth is that I cannot recall the last time I drank one. I guess I just went off the stuff.
See, I changed my mind.
In the piece of 29.06.08 LINK I rubbished Keane moving based upon three factors.
1. Crouch wanted out.
2. RK was percieved as loyal.
3. His quote to my source.
I guess he changed his mind.
Because circumstances change, it doesn't devalue what was said or done previously. Hence the use of the word, 'change'.
A bit sad I had to point this out to you, really.
Also to get my 2 cents involved for the game itself:
1. Gomes was just as scary in goal as I feared, I have no confidence in him
2. King was not fit but good to see him playing still
3. Gunter was great 2nd half but threw himself forward in the Chimbo mode a bit much 1st half
3. Ekotto was (for his part) pretty bloody good. Well impressed.
4. Zokora is still a crock of shite in midfield, keep him for defense alone
5. Bale hardly played long enough for me to judge but I do love the lad
6. Hudd was average
7. Modric has flashes of brilliance
8. Dos Santos was excellent, rapid, taking great shots and wonderful control on the ball
9 making O'Hara look distinctly average.
10. gilberto was acceptable, needs to take more time crossing
11. lennon looked MUCH more sensible in possesion than i have ever seen him before
12. jenas had flashes of greatness again, his tracking back was great
13. bent needs no comment as i think that regardless of it being against a shite team the goals he scored were not as easy as they looked.
Yawn!
Was trying to make a few casual observations to create some debate and contribute rather than take a cheap pop at fellow Spurs fans. For shame! Perhaps if I had aired my views on exotic chicken dishes.
Agree that JJ should not be let near a dead ball again. Really poor corner and free kick taker.
Like Tainio, sorry to see Steed go. Awaiting the next few days with interest.

I can confirm it's a large building full of poorly people and medical staff. The ratio changes most notably at night time. More as I get it...
1. Gomes....give him a break.
2. Dawson is shakey (flog him for spares to the stadium of light)
3. Sad to say, Ledley's one step (stumbe) nearer the knackers yard
4. JJ may be learning to play a holding role, but we need better, as a solid, reliable DM
5. Didier Z should be a back up for wounded defenders and nothing more.
6. Bale is an asset, set peice maestro
7. Modric is crafty and breaks holes in opponents defences with cleaver flicks
8. J2S is the one to watch. A true prodigy.

And keep your distance as he perfects his jerk rub.
I really hope it is that Ledders is not fit yet, because babies come out of the womb faster than he was running in that match. Over the years he's been one of if not our fastest players, it made me cringe when he was being outpaced by Norwich, I really cannot recall observing such a sight before. I have faith though that his knee will get better, but that picture of him at the training ground with one leg twice as wide as the other really haunts me.
Maybe we should play a narrow back four and connect hutton, king, woody and bale together to make some sort of mutant defending machine? At least that way they only need to use one leg each...

Mentally Gomes' head's screwed on the right way. He's won championships with psv and has that winning mentality. It's rare to get 100% out of anything you want to achieve. Say we fall 20% short aiming for 1st place then we end up in 4th place. 20% short whilst aiming for 4th = another season of heartbreak.
Gomes is already living the Spurs creda, 'Audere est Facere', "...we of Spurs have set our sights very high. So high in fact that even failure has in it an echo of glory". Honestly Fuck 4th, lets win something!
If I'm wrong - strap me up now and call the medics.
