Have A Look At What At What You Might've Won.

It's been announced that Pompey have reluctantly allowed THFC permission to speak to Harry Redknapp.

Everybody with fingerprints on the existing murder weapon of Spurs - Dame Comolli, Poyet & Ramos have all been binned.

oh my word!! where to start?? just flicked on the internet in the vain hope that the news that clueless ramos has been given the boot would occur at any time. It is unreal that at 11.30 on a saturday night we find it out, and then find out that, harry redknapp, who i like as a coach, is linked to the job!!
this is why i love the club!!
drama drama drama!!
hope the players grow some balls!!
COME ON YOU SPURS!!!!

If we had kept Ramos we would be relegated - we might still be. A lot of the squad problems were down to the boards apalling transfer activity, but saying that our squad is much better than those of Fulham, Stoke, WBA, Bolton and Hul. Ramos has lost the belief of a lightweight and leaderless group of players and had to go.
We are in deep trouble and need a manager who knows the Prem inside out. Redknapp is the man and I am convinced he will take the job ( he has probably been tapped up before being approached by Levy ) - and possibly bring back Mr Defoe in January. Harry has always wanted a big team job and he will still be able to live on the south coast.
I will go to bed tonight actually thinking that we can avoid the drop although a win at Bolton tomorrow is still crucial. It does puzzle me however that Levy did not azxe Ramos after the Stoke game as Redknapp could now be boss.

DELIGHTED -- Harry Redknapp is well underrated in my opinion.

LOVE the fact that's he's immediately said the squad is unbalanced and needs some aggression in midfield.

And does this mean we can kiss goodbye to the Director of Football structure for GOOD? (please?)

Let's hope Jermain Defoe follows Harry back to the Lane in January. Thankfully JD knows we still love 'im!

Bring on Andrew Lloyd Weber & " Spurs- The Musical" I say. The evil kenivel Comolli has finally been exorcised - hooray!!!
I feel sorry for Ramos not least for all those hours spent trying to learn English...Well done & thanks for the League Cup & thanks for Jol who was treated scandously. Both were undermined by a stupid management structure & once again by Mr. Levy and his immaculate sense of timing...e.g.why not announce the decision to axe the evening after a match as opposed to the evening before a match ? Well, at least this time it wasn't during the match?...
All we need now is for Levy to fall on his sword as well - ok, flog the club for a profit and piss off thanks!
Good luck 'Arry if you finally come. You'll be like the Messiah even though you started out as an Arsenal supporter!( at least for starters!)We should appoligize for interupting your retirement down in Dorset and your hobby along the road at Portsmouth - n.b. as you know Spurs won't be a hobby!!!By the way don't forget to bring back young Jermaine Defoe in January + his buddy Lassana Diarra. As for our Sol - just leave him where he is thanks!

The thing I'm most excited about isn't the fact that Redknapp is about to grab the aimlessly spinning steering wheel on this rudderless ghost ship, but that there's the distinct possibility that with this appointment, and the sudden departure of Omen, that we have seen the end of the Director of Football structure at White Hart Lane.

Do one, bit of fluff. You are not needed tonight.

I think all this juvenile, almost derogatory talk about Nigella is completely out of order.

I think people judge the lady on her sultry looks more than her esteemed cooking skills.

It's not her fault she looks so sensuous and 'up-for-it' when talking to the camera whilst nibble phallic food stuffs.

However, I think I'm confident enough that the force is indeed strong in this one. Therefore, I will stick my neck out and say:

Big Tony will not be coming. But they do have a mean tealady down there. WHLs Doris is officially quaking in her house slippers. Players of Wednesday night's Lotto should feature the numbers 11, 22, and 24. Take an umbrella to work on Tuesday.

I think Harry said he turned the job down in the past due to not wishing to work under a DoF.

Well, this appointment means one thing, first and foremost. Survival. A proper Cockney manager for a Cockney club. Not displeased in the least by this change. 'Arry'll have a rocket up their butts, sharpish. He's wanted this job for quite some time. Not getting under the best of circumstances, but capable of making the best of what he's got.

Just logged onto Juande Ramos' on-line diary and found he'd re-written the lyrics of Tom Russell's great alt-country classic to suit his purposes. Is he hinting at a future in MLS?

Here's his thoughts:

Well I lit outta northern London
I followed an abandoned railroad track
Trains here used to run
From Enfield out to Juarez
But the silver mine has closed
The trains ain't coming back

This here is the land of stolen ponies
Of rattlesnakes and poisoned water wells
Each God-forsaken mile leads right to Heaven
'Cause tryin' to please them Yiddos
It was Hell

Put me on the next thing smokin'
Put me on the next train outta here
This heart ain't made for bein' broken
Levy ain't my conductor
Commoli ain't my engineer

Put me on the next thing leavin'
The northern or the southern hemisphere
Put me on the next thing smokin'
Put me on the next thing outta here

I'm bound to ride
I got my pride

I made to the ghost town of Hachita
I got drunk in the Hachita General Store
I passed the place Santini surrendered
Well, Santini, like me maybe, couldn't take it anymore

I'll hitchhike from Columbus to El Paso
Where I can catch an Amtrak or a freight
I've walked three hunnerd miles across these badlands
And Hombre, I have made my Great Escape

Adios, Vaquero. Truly, we never knew you. And that's probably the way you wanted it.

Quite. The sentiment was simple. We (and note how Graham Roberts still talks in "we" terms), needed a manager who was not going to stand for sub-par, gutless performances. Harry is that man.

On a side note I would like to add, having sobered up a little, this has cost the club a pretty penny. And Levy's wheeling and dealing and holding out for the extra 10% re: Berba, Keane and not replacing them properly leaves us a little short both upfront, and in £££ terms.

One would like to conclude that the evidence points to us being a spending club in January. But I think I'll wait and see if the cash is to be splashed. I'm sure HR will be keeping his eyes peeled. And one thing is for sure, he likes to get value, both when he plunders the transfer markets and when he punts.

Be interested to see whose career he resurrects, Adel Taarabt's, Hossam Ghaly's?

Roberts said what we all knew to be true, we needed a manager who has been there and done it in the english game.

I doubt he thought Redknapp was available so listed those out of work.

What money on Roberts gettign a role under Redknapp?

Mention should got to Ginola too. Especially when it is easier to mock rather than stand up for your old clun (hello sherwood adn redknapp jr.)

"No. No chance. No. I'd walk away."

This is one prospect awaiting our near future unless Harry Redschnapps managed to achieve the unthinkable and get a comprehensive performance out of this team to sustain survival in the EPL. Forget winning the CC in 4 months, if Harry can get us beating Ar5ena1 in his first proper game in charge, then he'll be an instant Spurs legend, given the state of disarray our current team is in.

But lets be realistic, survival is going to require hard work and some discipline need to be meted out. We need to spend well both in the transfer window and immediately (if Appiah is available and right for us). But should we fail to get this done - we'll be Coca Cola bound without Houdini.

Communication is key. Let there be no ass-umptions, let there be no misunderstandings. If you're a player, pull your socks up, or you'll be properly and publicly crucified!

Defoe and Diarra in Jan.

Thought exactly the same.

Portsmouth are about to get treated the way Southampton did with Hoddle and Richards.

Bend over boys.

I was one of those, and I wondered what sort of character would take such a job as being manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

Step forward a man who left a club for their nearest neighbours, got them relegated and then went back to the original club.

Well that answered that one then.

Just because he's been persuaded to come to us, why do we automatically assume the Pompous will want to sell his players to him? Its already a big enough deal for them to lose their leader, and although they are strapped of cash, I can't see them selling Defoe back to us seeing that he's their star player at the moment.

What I'm hoping is that he's already got his eye on a few players that he couldn't afford whilst at pompous, and some immediate shoe-ins to help with the soft centre. Diarra is only possibly on the cards if they're still cash strapped following the extra £5m we're flinging their way.

Lets just hope we don't get bent over the same way we were when we got Hod and Richards from Southampton!

"No. No chance. No. I'd walk away."

This is one prospect awaiting our near future unless Harry Redschnapps managed to achieve the unthinkable and get a comprehensive performance out of this team to sustain survival in the EPL. Forget winning the CC in 4 months, if Harry can get us...

I dont look at it as we need to get 38-40 points. rather i think how many games do we have left and how far ahead of us is the team in 17th.

The way I see it is we need to get 6 more points than bolton, stoke. fulham over the course of the next 30 games.

6 points in 30 games on Stoke et al.? 100% confident with a proper manager we will walk it even with bad results in our next 3/4 games.

F*cking hell guys. I wake up 2 hours earlier than I should have this morning (partly due to a stupid alarm but mainly due to the clocks going back and me forgetting) with a STEAMING hangover to find that Ramos is out, Redknapp is in and Levy has written possibly the most sane and lengthy statement I have ever seen.

I wait with baited breath for the games results today.

But I also feel slightly gutted that Poyet and Alvarez are out as well. Surely the fitness regime was never an issue?

Also you have to give Levy credit to finally admitting quite candidly the issue that occured over the summer and going back to the normal structure of manager and director!

COYS!

Everyone really needs to read Levy's comments.

You have to respect him, whatever you think. There is a serious grain of hurt running through his letter, and it's true that all the decisions made have been human ones and therefore vulnerable to mistake and the ever-present guiding light of hindsight.

I would encourage you to read the tone of his words; he has been stung enough to refute many of the things said. I for one never believed that the sale of Berbatov, the hanging on until the last minute, was something that determined the purchase of new strikers (i.e. the money was available). I find it quite plausible that Man Utd were pretty unscrupulous in their dealings and I feel we should be more defensive of our chairman in this situation. Man Utd and Berbatov between them were pretty unethical in their dealings with the club and I believe it was unfair to pile this at Levy, just because he was more reachable than Fergusson and the much maligned Berbatov.

That should be a closed chapter now, I personally believe Levy. I'm also delighted to see the scrapping of the DoF position and the appointment of Redknapp - I think we all agree on the need for a communicative, english-speaking manager now.

As for Ramos, you have to feel sympathy for him. His time was undoubtedly undermined by Comolli's incompetence and the structure, and he never really got to grips with the language (some people have a hard time learning languages, what they're earning doesn't come in to it, it doesn't buy you proficiency), nor did he understand English football well. You have to wish him well wherever he goes - he must be feeling shattered this morning, having moved his life to England to follow a dream and seeing it fall apart. Respect to him and good wishes should come from every Spurs fan.

But I reiterate my respect for Levy. And it's good to see this time the club behaving respectably and decisively. Let's really get behind the team - God knows they need it.

COYS :)

Levy is one of us and I would not have it any other way .You must have someone at the helm who has a real feeling for the club ,and say what you want about Levy he loves Spurs and wants success just as much as any of us.

And yet another false dawn........ Another manager who has only the odd bit of Cup success on his CV, never has and never will build a team that can sustain a league challenge and has a very very limited grasp of the English language. This is shaping up to be another "top top" comedy period in Spurs history. Mind you at least he is odds on to give little Jamie a coaching role so at least we won't have to put up with the twat on Sky as much!!!!FOYS

Ol Arry is gonna have a tough time, but I believe it's a step in the right direction!

Perfect answer to your own question! The issue of a proper replacement is of course another thing entirely. Old hangdog harry is a football mercenary. Still at least it wasnt Dowie, with his good looks and trouble holding a steady job down we'd be even deeper in the ol brown stuff. I am gonna be positive about harry, not my choice but after the next 20 games lets see whats shaking!
