Although I have no idea if this guy is any good or not, I hope he joins as I was concerned at some of the other goalie rumours i.e. McGregor, Green, Carson, Hart - as they all fit the Robbo mould of goalkeeping. None of them are athletic looking, a few of them need to stay out of Burger King, and all of them could do with being a few inches taller. At least this guy looks like he has the flexibility and athleticism to be a goalie.

Great news I loved his attitude when we played PSV last season Gomes veloso & Bentley plus a centre back, if Berb doesn't go what a great squad next season.. Any more news on Bentley or veloso???

I don´t know! He´s very good on the line, but his field work is at times a heck of alot worse than robbo at his worst!

Some people have only remembered Gomes penalty saves plus one or two others during the games, they have forgoten the way he consistantly flapped and panicked under pressure from crosses!!!
Please not him, get Brad Freidel to come with Bentley!! Now he's a consistantly good keeper.

Simply put, Gomes is the best keeper we could realistically get. If true, this is a great signing.

the moneys coming out of our tickets!! anyway - gomes is quality...he does flap at crosses a wee bit..however he does punch them out..he may not catch them...but at least he touches them..unlike robbo. doesnt get beat by 30m shots..and probably one of the best shot stoppers in the game.
