This is a sad day for me. An old friend is saying goodbye.
It seems unlikely that Teemu Tainio will be inducted into any THFC Hall Of Fame. He didn't 'blaze' a goal scoring trail in his time at Tottenham. This eulogy must be prefaced by saying he wasn't the greatest player who ever wore Lilywhite. Hell, he wasn't even reliably a first squad pick. But nor was he a journeyman, some sort of undistinguished footballer who merely plodded a path. He will though be remembered as fondly as those who won us cups and stole our hearts with twenty five yard pin point passes.Mind you, West Ham away '06 anyone?
He'll be missed for who he was. A player who gave his all. As I barked at Berbatov, 'a man say, like Teemu Tainio, is worth ten of you in terms of what he feels he owes us, but he can only ever give us in terms of 'goals n' magic' a fifth of what you can deliver.'
We often glance fondly in the rearview mirror as Yids. Largely due to the absence of happiness to gawp at here in the now. Oh for a Stevie Perryman. What would I give to unleash a Graham Roberts right now. Not just on the other lot - but on ours.
""I've always been a Tottenham fan, so coming here is a really big deal for me."
"I used to love watching Gazza, Lineker, and I have videos of Hoddle."
Tainio was as devoutly loyal and committed as any of his notable predecessors. His ambition was clearly to wear the shirt and whilst in it give it his very upmost. Desire and passion in spades. Tottenham are crying out to win more and I maintain the belief that this will only ever be achieved when we add what men like Tainio had to what bastards like Berbatov have. Balance is the key.
Needless to say, when Keane brings Sunderland to The Lane I'll be on my feet to welcome the home one of our favourite sons.
We did as much for each other as we could in our time together - and that's no bad way for friends to say goodbye.
If he didnt have as many injuries it might have been a whole lot differrent. I would rather a fit Tainio that a fit Zokora any day. Best of luck to him.
I agree with everything you say in that article Harry. Players like Tainio are the steel that must be allied to the silk that players like Berbatov bring.
My only hope is that Steed stays at WHL. I'd be very disappointed if we lost two hardworking, honest players that gave their all for the lilywhite shirt in the space of a week.
He will be a player that those who know their Tottenham will admire for years to come. He was a Spurs fan living the dream. Yes, he was limited but he always gave his all for us.
Farewell and good luck Teemu. You'll be welcome back at the lane anytime!
Missing you already, Teemu.
Just seen the pics of him in a Sunderland shirt on their website, and guys...im telling you that there is sorrow in those eyes. We've lost a Spurs man, a Spurs Fan and a player who was truly proud to wear the shirt.
Obviously the lack of First Team football at Spurs might have frustrated Teemu, but if it did, he didnt show it.
maybe the appeal of working with Roy Keane proved too strong after meeting the guy...i dunno.
but Mr. Tainio, i'll say this.
YOU'RE SPURS AND YOU KNOW YOU ARE!
Many Many thanks.
Couldn't agree more, I think he deserves the biggest cheer when he comes back to White Hart Lane.
I think BMJ once said that 'whenever Teemu plays we seem to win'. That's probably not very accurate, but you got the feelng that when players like Tainio turned out, they at least 'wanted to win'.
Here's to the second best squad player, and shame on Spurs for the selling the first in Malbranque.
LINK
I live in the north east, and for some strange reason, my Dad is a Makem, hopefully i'll be able to get to a few games with him and support Teemu (though i'll be sitting with the Yid Army when we're up there of course)
Sunderlnad fans are passionate and knowledgable, and they'll love him up there.
Teemu has found a good place to play...but The Lane will always be his home
It's will be interesting if Teemu would do a Keano if he had been as "desired" as a player. But this is not the time for fancy speculation.Like all Spurs fans...we wish you well Teemu and you are always welcome at the lane.
Good luck the fella. And this isn't meant as a slur to him as he always gave us his best. More as a reality check to everyone else: it's hard to say how loyal a player is when he's not good enough to get the big money clubs sniffing around and offering them the cash. He may have stayed out of loyalty, but seeing as no-one really wanted to prise him away without out blessing we'll never know.
I fear you are right Nomad, he'll be missed more in his absence than in any of his tenacious if essentially limited performances.
There is something to be said for the player who knows his parameters and regulates his game accordingly. The need for a selfless Tainio will be greater than ever alongside Modric, Bentley and Dos Santos.
Give me Teemu over Zokora any day.
For me Teemu's legacy will be the way he totally nullified Fabregas when he came on as sub in the 5-1 demolition derby. Who knows what would have happened if the goner had time and space on the ball. Remember it was only 1-0 at the time. Rumour has it that after the match Fabregarse went back to his house and whilst making a coffee Teemu took the teaspoon off him.
I was quite sad to see that it looks like teemu will be leaving the lane, as previously stated he really did give his all in the shirt and would play any position asked of him. I never had any doubts when I saw him in the starting 11 that he would do a job. Of all the players linked with moves out of white hart lane this season im a bit dissapointed teemu looks like he'l be the first to go. Cheers son.
I'm filling up after that article, Harry...
Teemu will be warmly welcomed back to the Lane for all the reasons you meantioned - he has heart for this club and he shames the likes of Berbatov the Impaler and Keane the Fibber. Sorry to use a word like "fibber" but I'm that cross...
I've watched Mackay and Mullery, Perryman and Pratt, Roberts and Hoddle and just hope we can unearth someone soon who has the character to impose himself on his mates out there and drive the team on.
he going to one of those players who always get warm welcome when come back to lane , i don’t think the same would said about that chumb-bondie guy
Tainio will be missed he used to get a lot of stick from a lot of forums but he never stopped running and always gave 100% he was our unsung hero in the 5-1 win against the scum & i will also not forget him pointing to the score board & winding up Chelski in the carling cup final.
There will always be a place in my heart for Teemu, right next to place for Paul Allen.
good luck my son, they don't know how good they got it.
Another excellent article which only serves to endorse the fact that HH is by far the best Spurs blog on the web. It is significant that every comment thus far has been full of praise for a true gentleman of the game and I can only add my agreement that he was an absolute credit to the team, always giving 100%, never a sour word and along with Steed, in my opinion, the hardest working and most loyal guy of the bunch. He will be sadly missed and I wish him every possible success for the future. A warm welcome awaits for his every return to WHL.

I used to call him the puppetmaster in the centre of the park (bit of a joke name i know), but he used to pull the strings. He'd break up the play, and play the simple passes. Like a Makele. He never moaned about not playing, and would give 100% at RB, RM, CM, LM wherever he was played. Proper pro, and a proper player who wanted to play for our club. Jamie O Hara reminds me of him already. We need players like this at our club, whenever he played in the centre of midfield we always seemed a better team, think the Arse game, Fulham 4-0 away in the cup couple of season ago, even Reading in the cup last season at their place, he gave us balance!!!! Something we always seem to lack. Big shame letting him go, would rather we got rid of Zokora than him anyday. Good luck Teemu, you will be missed.
The squad is getting trimmed down - I think we would have been better off keeping him for at least another season and loaning out Tarrabt instead ..
Thank you Teemu. All the best in Sunderland.

Loving the teaspoon analogy!! Remember it doing the rounds at the time but completely forgot about it!! Should start a fanzine called Teemu's Teaspoon!

MIOC - you are spot on the money china, he looks a little dead inside.
a dark day for yids - my crotch will be at half mast all day as a tribute
Teemu Tainio, unsung hero. Always gave his all. Thanks Tee-moo Tie-an-ee-oooh! You'll get a great reception, i'll be in the West Stand cheering for you, so u'll probably see me amongst the silent stand faithful!
Tainio looked a real class act when he joined in 2005.Injuries have restricted us from seeing him really flourish in a Spurs shirt. But I agree with an earlier point made that I'd have him over Zokora any day. You need players like Tainio in your side, he was fantastic against Ar5ena1 in that game and I'll give him a big cheer when he comes back.
Anyone else seen the Teemu tribute on youtube? to Mika's 'Happy Ending' awesome...
almost brought a tear... slow mo heaven... saw it last night but now cant seem to find it???? Anyone know the link...
Did make me think anyone got any apt music which sums up current players, players leaving...???
The Maradona one playing for Spurs in Ossie's testinmonial to Queen's It's a kind of Magic was so apt...
MIOC - just saw pic 12 of 12 on the safc site. You're spot on - its the look of a heartbroken fan, a complete contrast from the joy on his face when he joined spurs.
Taino will be a spurs 'usung' legend. Reliable, and passionate to the Spurs cause - to the extent that he sweated blood and guts (remember the derby in Oct 2005 when he got elbowed by that fouling cheating Judas b&$t@rd!) Just wish he stayed fit, and had that bit more in the bag, then he could've been a true legend and not just a fans favourite.
Thanks again.
I had a goldfish named Teemu, he died about 6 weeks ago. It was a sign of things to come.
All the best Teemu, you were great!
(By the way, my fish "Berbafish" is still going strong)
Hi there. A Sunderland fan here, just thought you'd like to hear our thoughts on Tainio.
He was the one of the 4 that I really wanted, with Malbranque a little ways back. All 4 players would be improvements to our squad, though personally I ain't too sure about Chimbonda.
I only saw TT on MOTD and so forth, but from what I saw I was impressed enough to have him in my fantasy football team. Was my top scorer till he got injured. Cest la vie and all that!
It is gratifying to read the above positive comments and I hope he can do for us as much as he did at WHL. That he was injured was a blow for your team and I would like to ask a question if I may.
After his injury do you think he was brought back too soon and so never had a chance to fully recover? Just something we are kicking round our boards and I was looking to see what you all think.
You mention you using the money to buy players from the next level (loosley) and this is what we are doing. One step at a time - softly softly seems to be his approach.
As for the rest, it seems Malbranque is trying to come to an arrangement where his tings down here can be looked after. He has maybe one big contract, two at the outside left in him, so it has to be the right move for him. He is the other player I'd drive up North myself if it meant sealing the deal
Chimbonda - I personally cannot see the logic in this one - but then I'm not our manager. Yes a better player but unsettling too.
Kabhoul - didn't exactly endear himself to our fans through his agent. be interesting to see where he goes. Harry R tried the mind-games saying Villa were after him when ours was the only bid on the table. Obviously put himself in the shop window a bit - hoping someone else comes in for him. We shall see - again potential, but is he hungry enough for our squad, no question of TT's hunger.
Thanks for allowing me on here and taking the time to read through my drivel.
Good luck for the season ahead, and we'll look after those that do sign.
Yes I will miss the guy. Been impressed with him from minute one. To say he was just a tryer is doing him an injustice because I think he showed quality when played in his preferred central position (not when he was put out on the left and I heard a few grumbles around me in the crowd because he wasn't skinning people and delivering crosses!). I think if Malbranque leaves as well we would be losing too much work ethic and am a very worried that he will go. He was player of the season last year for me, and I was saying that before C*nt-o went gooey in the gusset for the Scousers! Stop selling the characters!
Cearlan- I don't think Tainio was affected by injury but was the victim of Huddlestone's emergence and persistance with Jenas, experimenting with KPB and Zokora (not in Tainios league IMO). You have got yourself a bargain. Wish he was still with us.

The only problem most of you guys have with Zakora is because he is a BLACK AFRICAN..... What a pity!!!
Zakora is one of the most hard working SPURS players and THANK GOD Ramos & Poyet are not racist and have always picked Zakora in the starting line up due to his commitment to discipline and defensive work unlike the other "favourite sons" who are missing in their defensive roles and go attacking like headless chickens!
Many here would have sold Zakora first for nothing and see us fighting for relegation next season.
The defensive midfield is a tough position and calls for team work and not a "one man show" as many expect ZAKORA to do all alone while Huddlestone, Jenas and co do nothing defensively.
Zakora has been the utility player for SPURS this season and has played as in central midfield, Central defense & Left full back positions. This is a player who always gives 120% to his club and is always counted unlike ingrate fanatics who attack his efforts and know little about football and only think football is about scoring and attacking(A real fan will be appreciative!!!)
A player who hardly turns up with a sick card, always willing to wear the lilly white despite the constant hating and insults from racists!
Martin Jol & SPURS suffered against Arsenal at WHL (1-3 > Robinson, Chimbonda, Dawson, Kaboul, Lee, Malbranque (Bent 82), Huddlestone, Jenas, Bale (Lennon 69), Berbatov, Keane)last season without Zakora as the so called favourites were torn to shreds...no one is blaming the pathetic midfielders but if Zakora played, he would have taken all the blame!
Teemu was a similar player but not as skilled, fit or as strong as in the midfield like Zakora. We wish him the very best as he gave us more than his best!
I have responded to this as I am sick of this blattant racist attack on Zakora. One of our worst players last season was Dawson but many are supporting him and want him to be given a chance.
Lets kick racists & racism out of WHL!!!

Ramos & Poyet must be smoking something to use Zakora and not have him sold unlike many on the way out, if I have to use your reasoning.....(at least they know football!)
Lets stick to the facts....
Cearlan, you have yourself a player in Teemu. He's no Gazza, but then again who is? He'll work very hard for your team, think Makele and give his all, a industrious midfielder full of heart, every team needs them, we have another in Malbranque (technically better than Teemu) who always gave his all, and was very much liked at the lane, still is, if you get him he will also be an excellent player for you guys. Chimbonda is a good player, no question, an excellent right back on his day and up their with the best around as an attacking full back. He's pacey, good in the air, can play anywhere across the back four It's his attitude which is the issue. I'm sure he'll start all guns blazing for you guys and you'll love him, but when it gets cold up there, and results start going wrong, he'll be the first to point the finger and create disharmony unfortunately. If only he could keep his attitude in check, maybe Roy Keanes the man to bash him to shape...or maybe he'll be a one season signing? Kaboul i think has great potential, captain of French U21, all the top clubs wanted him, fast, powerful, but prone to error(akin to Ramon Vega), but he's young and naive and with some good defensive coaches should stamp it out, a rash sale by Spurs this, but then again we may need the money to get someone in who is ready for first team action now.

Shame it wasn't the other way round. No offence to your fish. Teemu will be sorely missed. Unlike the other one.
Well said Robbieboy....
Sunderland are getting very good player and I trust Roy Keane has a good eye for quality...
Chimbonda - Good player especially going forward and in the air but defensively not as strong as expected. He needs to put this first and why Hutton is a better player.
Taino - Excellent work ethic but has not done as well as expected due to injury but a reliable player
Malbraque - Can't believe he is being sold as he was one of the best players last season and hardly injured and excellent attitude. Very good in assists, scoring and tracks back to help the defence!
Kaboul - This is a player I & many Spurs fan feel has great potential and should be on loan instead of being sold. He will make an excellent defensive midfielder as he is strong, good tackler and grafter, good in the air, good at set pieces, very good going forward.....He was thrown into the deep end early and unfortunately lacked the defensive support from the likes of King who was mostly injured. I will be watching his progress as I feel he will be a great player in 2 seasons time and one we might regret to let go. Keane is the best manager to develop his potentials!

Racists out of The Lane and Loonies off the grass.
Harry...
I agree that's how it should be !!! Lets evaluate our players by merit and be fair across.
Many unfortunately do not share our values!
Whatever the reason, I do agree with MaurSpur that Zokora gets a raw deal from Spurs fans. His shooting is awful and his passes on occasion go astray, but he's very fast and a really exciting runner and carrier of the ball out of defence. Also, he's very versatile and did an excellent job as a makeshift centre back for us. So let's give the bloke a fair shake, he always does his best for the team.
Please don't the phrase 'our values'.
Or 'we' or 'us' for that matter.
Cracking piece, Harry. Good luck, TT. 100% Spurs, you will be missed.
Think I may have started the Zokora slur by complete accident! I am not a member of combat18, just don't reckon that one bursting run every 10 games and constantly being caught out of position is value for ÂŁ8m.
Also... I have a Bob Marley album at home so who's the racist now?

If Paul means his transfer fee than obviously isn't very clued up that we got Teemu on a free from Auxerre.
If he means his salary outlay then what a fucking prick of the highest order! The guy wasn't exactly on 40k a week no was he!!!?
Teemu deserves all the praise and thanks he's getting, especially for the game against le scum and the "time wasting" against scum MKII.
God bless ya Teemu!

I think Maurspurs has been smoking something mate. For a start the mans name is ZOKORA not zAkora! and how can spurs fans be racist when King is a tottenham legend!!
Ok so zOkora is a black african but why would that make us hate him??
I think someone needs a reality check.
Too add.... I read an interview with Eddie Grant in the big issue the other week so i am mosr definitely not racist!
Who knows how effective Teemu could have been with less injuries and better management ?
I do.
I saw enough of the bloke to see that he can tackle better than any other midfielder we've got (African, Black, Scandinavian or Jewish). He can pass the ball as well as most, take a decent free kick or corner and he has an eye for goal. Box to box he can run all day and his heart is as big as any we've seen at the lane in recent times.
The true testament to him is the fact that on this blog there is seldom agreement on much but on Teemu we are agreed :
He is one of us
He is Tottenham from the lane
Thanks and good luck Teemu, you'll always be welcome here.
I always appreciated Tainio for what he was, somewhat limited, and probably hindered by his versatility, insomuch as he rarely got a game in his preferred position - but totally committed and honoured to wear the shirt. And I always defended him when 'obsessives' (those who believe every player their team buys should be some non-esistent, mythical, perfect player) slated him on forums.
I cannot say I will 'miss' him until I see how the team performs without him - especially when their is a gap to fill and in days of yore Teemu would have popped up to say: "you want me to play there, i'll play there with all my heart' (no matter what the position was.
As for the rant about Zokora - I would like to think my assessment of that player is a pretty fair one = he would be a decent enough player if he concentrated on what he is actually remotely decent at, i.e. getting the ball and give it quick and simple. Unfortunately, he goes on dazzling runs which invariably end in an awful shot, or a woeful pass, or, worst of all, an alleged cross. If he didn't do this, we wouldn't worry just so long as he was doing his job well enough (no-one is asking him to be Pele - a black South American
); but by doing this he raises expectations so much and then disappoints time after time. End of...
Oh and well done Harry.
As ever you lead by example

Cheer JamieSpurs. I reckon he was on something. Sorry about the non-sensical correction afterwards. Had a couple too many beers at my KKK rally at lunchtime.
My point is simple and could be seen as blunt as Zakora did well for Spurs last season and I am happy Ramos & Poyet are appreciative unlike many who go bashing the poor guy and let those who commit howlers go scot free...
Zakora is the fastest, fittest and best tackler amonst the midfielders we have and the problem is he is always isolated and left alone to do all this dirty job.
Our defensive record has been poor because appart from the central defenders, most are too committed to attack and are easy prey to fast counter attacks. In the absence of a dominating central defende like Ledley King goals are surely going to be conceded against quality opposition. I am yet to see a goal that has been a fault of Zakora but can name some players who have caused us games including Berbatov and Keane and get no abuse!
This blog is well written and deserved of a true SPURS player who will be sadly missed for his hard work and commitment. Well done TT and all the best at Sunderland!
Apologies to those who feel racism stops at buying a Bob Marley album, reading an article written by Eddie grant or being neighbours to blacks....
MaurSPURS. Dont ASS+U+me to share 'our' values. This club was one of the first to bring in johnny foreigners; has had a background with the Jewish Community; is based in a very black, yellow, pink, ginger, pasty part of town and has had through its books some amazing black, yellow, etc players - that we've cheered for as long as they wore the lillywhite of spurs, and some like Teemu will be long after they have left.
Now you may be a spurs fan or not. But to me, this is my team. The one I've supported since I grew up in the rough and tumble streets around lordship lane, the team that I heard score from my back garden playing football with my black african neighbours! Similarly, other people have a passion, obsession, loyalty to this team in varying degrees, hence each will have 'our own values'. My point is that you shouldn't shout Fire unless there is one. Now, unless the other supporters posting on Harry's site, clearly state something in a racist manner - then I suggest you don't accuse people of being so. And don't kiss up to HH either!
We've got a right to support this team and that means also being critical about the players when we want to be, whether its the inconsistency of half-caste Jenas (when we know how good he can be) or the sulkiness and utter lack of loyalty of 'eastern-european' Berba, or whether we say thank you to servants of the club like Teemu. Some of us are tired and annoyed that most/all of the amazing runs Zokora makes are without a suitable end product. Its because we want him to score, hit the target, find the perfect pass - and he hasn't so far - but doesn't mean he wont. If Juande, Gus and Marcos have faith in him so will I. If they believe they can perfect his game, then I'll look forward to cheering him on. At the end of the day - to me, spurs is my team - and I'll be pissed off with or idolise whoever I want. I suggest you do the same and not insult others with your accusations. sorry just 2p from me being a johny foreigner myself
So Tainio's gone. I know he was not the most prolific or most talked about man in the squad for the past few seasons, but when he was put on the field, the guy did the business. I've always considered Roy Keane to be a shrewd manager, and I think that his capture of Teemu will only serve to further image. Good luck Teemu, thanks for your contribution to Spurs!
Harry - please let me know how this ÂŁ15 off at littlewoods works

Very well said tremblyknees.
And as for you MAURspurs. Do you not know of our old player Walter Tull only the second Black Man to play professional football in Britain ?
I am very offended by your comments. Us Spurs supporters maybe a bunch of moaners but we certainly are not racist.
Your suggestion is ridiculous.
To suggest that Zakora is our best tackler is more nonsense. In fact he rarely tackles he tends to win the ball by smart interception rather that tackling and when he does tackle it often results in a free kick. Usually just outside the penalty area. In fact he committed at least three in the Carling Cup Final. One of which I think led to Chelsea's goal.
I am one of his biggest critics. That said I thought he had one or two very good games towards the end of the season and I believe he had Malaria or something similar not that long ago so it's possible we still have not seen him fully fit.
If you are yet to see a goal conceded that was down to Zakora you obviously have not seen many matches. There were countless matches where he or Jenus or both just vanished if that doesn't help the opposition score what does ?
Mind you, he does have the best smile in the squad.
MaurSpurs - did I miss something here? Since when has Zokora been racially abused by Spurs fans? You claim that he has been targeted because he is a black african. What a load of rubbish! His colour and his nationality has got absolutely naff all to do with anything! If you cast your mind back to last season, which Spurs player regularly got slated for playing badly? Paul Robinson, that's who! And guess what? He's WHITE! If we, the fans criticize a player, which we have every right to do, then the high likelehood is that it's because he's playing badly, not because of the colour of his skin, or country of origin. Get your damn facts straight before you start making such ridiculous accusations in the future!
My mums boyfriend is a Makem and i too live in the northeast. When i saw he was about to loin them i told my mums lad that they had a workhorse there and a man who is 100% for whoever he plays for. Good luck to you Teemu and your always welcome back to the lane

Harry - please let me know how this ÂŁ15 off at littlewoods works

Well spotted Gaz. That offer appears to have expired. I'll have it removed and have a scout for another. Full price? Not on my shift...
MaurSpurs: I don't believe anyone's problem with Zokora is related to race. My main reason for disliking him is that even now idiots like you can't spell his name correctly. Learn to read, FFS.

Who knows how effective Teemu could have been with less injuries and better management ?
I do.
I saw enough of the bloke to see that he can tackle better than any other midfielder we've got (African, Black, Scandinavian or Jewish). He can pass the ball as well as most,...
"He is one of us.
He is Tottenham from the lane."
Precisely what binds us. Thank you, old bean.

Something about him was Tottenham wasn't it
Yet another truly great comment. Nice work, fella.

Hi Harry 1st time posting, love your salute to TT, by far my best squad player, heart and soul Spurs, I was just wondering if I could send my pic of TT when Spurs toured South Africa last year.....My dad, brother and myself are Yiddos through and through and very proud of that fact........LOVE SPURS...
Email it in son!
im so upset i called off sick today. my 7 year old son told me this morning this morning that his summer holidays has been ruined when his beloved teemu had moved. sunderland are now his second team. i remember the time we bumped into him in central london. not only did he say hello, but he gave a wink and told my boy that to follow your heart. teemu u may no be the wearing the spurs shirt, but ull always be a yid. today is a dark day, black thursday.
Underrated or were/are we blinded by love of a fellow Spur?
I always wanted him to replace Zokora, mainly because apart from diving in the box against Pompey the lad generally 'assists' us by giving the opposition goal kicks.
And in the games against Arsenal, when Tainio played, he bossed the midfield. Was it because of the opposition or did the lad never really get a chance in his favoured position?
I don't know.
What I do know is that you will be missed, Teemu. See you in 10 years time, filling in for Stefan Freund, commentating on Setanta News. Not a Spurs legend? We'll wait and see..

Reply to Spencer Kurash:For me Teemu's legacy will be the way he totally nullified Fabregas when he came on as sub in the 5-1 demolition derby. Who knows what would have happened if the goner had time and space on the ball. Remember it was only 1-0 at the time. Rumour has it that after the match Fabregarse went back to his...
Spencer it was 2-0 at half time chief. but the sentiment is the same

If my memory serves correctly Fabregarse replaced Denillson midway through the first half due to injury. At that time the score was still 1-0. How could I forget an Arse own goal which actally meant something this time. I remember not being able to sing spurs are on their way to Wembley until the 4th (Lennon) went in and how those nagging doubts crept in when the score became 4-1 and then being able to settle down again when the expected onslaught never materialised.

Teemu is one of those players you don't miss until he's gone, a player you rarely make time to think about or give credit to.
He wont be mentioned in post match summaries and analysis, as he isn't a flair player, but look under "Honest Pro" in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of Teemu.
I never heard him complain, never saw a glimpse of any kind of childish sulking and when things didnt go his way he just got on with the job, rather than pointing and shouting at someone else.
Teemu is a man I'd have in the trenches with me, and I expect he'd be the first over the top.
Cheers Teemu, for those that took the time to know you, you will most certainly be missed at the Lane.
Well said, HH and PLN.
