The run of good games had to end. It ended today. But it's infuriating that Squiddly Diddly gifted the opposition another goal, and inevitable to wonder how the game would have unfolded, but for his blunder.

The reality is that, when 'arry took over, our situation was calamitous. Since then, a flourish of wins, fine performanes and a little luck have beguiled us into thinking we were out of the woods. We reverted to pre-season mentality, and started dreaming of a lofty finish again. But our predicament, if no longer calamitous, was still perilous. It remains so.

It's all been honey-sweet for the players under 'arry until now. This is the first time they've tasted defeat and, for 'arry, the experience provides an opportunity to teach them something new.

It's maybe also the first time the players discover there's more to 'arry than a jovial uncle.

No need to be despondent. We'll be back. No doubt. This was just a blip.

I wonder if Gomes is becoming one of those self-fulfilling prophecies. The media keeps telling us he's accident-prone, and maybe he's becoming that way. It's a bit like when the blurb on the back of a paperback says that the book will become a best-seller - and it does, simply because people believe it any buy it.

Well tHe honeymoon period is over, i honestly thought we would get a result at Fulham. If Gomes hadn't made the howler of the season, we would have, so that tells you a story in itself (stating the obvious).

Its only 1 defeat under Harry im sure he will iron things out for the next game, i think we thought we were suddenly unbeatable with the string of results of late, i no i did for some dreaming reason.

I just hope we don't go down the line of loosing a few more again, i don't think top 4 is in our reach, probably more like keeping up and getting mid-table, but im still positive .

The clown in goal aside, could anyone see our central midfield today? I know I couldn't.

There are two people responsible for the loss today but I only see you lot harping on about the obvious one Gomes.

The other culprit is Arry.

He starts without a left sided midfielder so Bale is completely exposed and Fulham exploit it. We looked so unbalanced. This dragged Modric wider and deeper and far away from the Fulham penalty area which in turn left Bent isolated.

Then, instead of taking off Zokora for Lennon and seeing if Modric can do a bit of damage he takes of Thudd and Modric and reverts to 442 even though he's been most successful playing 4411 .

Whoever said Charly, Woody and Ledley didn't play well is talking bollocks. We lost it in the midfield the main culprit being Bentley and how anyone can justify picking that useless lazy tosser in front of Aaron is beyond me.

Aaron is far more involved, he causes chaos in the opponents half always creates chances and tackles back.

How much time should he be given ?

Gomes is the obvious one because it is not the first time. Once, twice maybe forgivable, everytime cannot be.

Tactically we got it wrong. But Harry has got it right more times than not so far. Off days happen this is fair enough.

The problem today was Jenas. Im not a Jenas hater but why we juggled a winning side around to accomodate him is beyond me.

But lets hope its a lesson learnt - when it is not the exception but the norm, well thats time to clear out (yep thats you Gomes)

I have been one of Heuralio's supporters and possibly still am but his mistake was a large contribution to our defeat.

I didn't know about the Modric injury, that's fair enough but it still doesn't negate the fact that we played the first half with no-one on the left of midfield. I thought Zokora had a great game against the pool midweek, but against a Fulham side that don't score loads of goals I feel big Tom was worth the punt.

If Bentley did assist in the goal fair enough but I can tell you he did little else and is minor act compared to Lennon.

You're right Bentley did put in the final pass to Campbell. He also took one decent free kick but his overall contribution was minor and he had a really tasty edge of the box chance in the first half that didn't find the target.

When he's not on the ball Bentley does very little.

Didn't see it as unlucky at all.

The wide players didn't put any quality balls into the box and the rest of the midfield didn't turn up.

If Bent isn't running on to anything, he might as well not be there and Gomes looks as though he doesn't want to be.

Why would we be trying to negate their midfield, we are Spurs, we attack.

OK. Gomes is not a clown, or shit, or useless; he's a world class goalkeeper going through a complete lack of confidence. He needs 3 or 4 games in the reserves to get his confidence back. Id pretty much agree with that DB.. I've been preaching to my mates how Gomes is one of the top goalkeepers around.. in fact if you look back through this blog you'll find proof of that..
