"The Club can announce that Jerry 'The Saint' St. Clair, Sporting Director, Juande Ramos, Head Coach and First Team Coaches, Marcos Alvarez and Gus Poyet, have left the Club, with immediate effect. We wish them well. Max and Patrick will see you into the car park, gentleman."
Chilling but welcome words. Levy acknowledged that we were going down the pan at a rate of knots at the hands of a management team who couldn't command in the transfer market irrespective of vast resources nor communicate with the players.
Redknapp's appointment is genius. Simultaneously daring and sound.
The Football Focus interview with Ramos was revealing. It revealed his English was probably more than sufficient to apply for a mortgage but woefully shy of the mark when it came to speaking to your average twenty something year old footballer.
So well done Levy.
The odds on us going down must have frozen this morning. Hopefully after today's game they will begin to shrink.
The limping towards the window in January may yet turn into a walk. I'm not daft enough to believe we'll be skipping there, but the players must be relieved and any improvement to their mindset at the moment is a godsend.
There will of course be voices of dissent. The whiney whiners who got themselves so worked up that now, even when handed Comolli's head on a silver salver are still hungry. The want Levy out too, bless 'em. Perhaps they might try doing something useful this weekend like supporting Spurs. CLICKY Just a suggestion.

And lastly well done to all the shameless so called stand up comedians ITK's who apparently all had the info early on last night but were ALL miraculously in the pictures/potholing/paraletic drunk/half way up Mt. Kilimanjaro with a bag over their heads - Please, just give it up.
Well, I didn't dream it last night then! A renewed sense of optimism prevails, let's hope it stays around this time.
The best part of Levy's statement is the fact that "Damien Comolli has left the Club with immediate effect. Damien will not be directly replaced." Quality shout.
A Chairman and Manager; the way a club should be run. Personally, I think Levy has shown he has bollocks; now for the players to do the same, starting today.
COYSBIOYC
And yet another false dawn........ Another manager who has only the odd bit of Cup success on his CV, never has and never will build a team that can sustain a league challenge and has a very very limited grasp of the English language. This is shaping up to be another "top top" comedy period in Spurs history. Mind you at least he is odds on to give little Jamie a coaching role so at least we won't have to put up with the twat on Sky as much!!!!FOYS
Great appointment - big sigh of relief. Read Levy's statement on the club website....I for one believe in the man.
Pompey would hold us to ransome for Defoe though - £20m?
Oops sorry, my last comment addressed to Grinner!
Nice new gonads Dan, a stark contrast to the limp dicks that have been coaching the Spurs for the last 12 months.
Would love to hear 'arry's team talk today.
I think today we'll start to emerge from the darkness on our way back to being one of the PL luminaries . The general consensus from fans to the media is, that Redknapp is the man.
WHL shall be rocking today, no doubt.
My enthusiasm and confidence is starting to return to Tottenham. It will be fully returned with 3 points at 5pm.

Lets have Diarra please we just need solve that problem in the centre of the park and we also need a leader on the pitch lastly...
The thing that stands out from this appointment is the fact that there doesn't appear to be a DoF role any more. Redknapp is making the changes to the squad...end of. I'm all for that, the manager needs complete control of the prima donnas, in and out. I think Redknapp respects the heritage in the club, as well as the obvious lack of hairy balls in the squad. Perhaps he can get the best out of Jenas, give Woody a kick up the arse, and more importantly attempt to get something out of the beleagured strike force. Perhaps starting Gio every game???? Just a thought

Would we accept an out of contract Ronaldo who needs to get fit??
Yep, this is a very positive move but please no 'well done Levy'.
He got us into this mess and it's his duty to get us out of it.
He persisted with backing Comolli 100% over Jol and obviously, to a significant level, over Ramos.
He fuc*ed up the whole Berbatov issue by not securing his replacement for the sake of 3 mill. We'd of had 2 months to get a quality striker in if he'd let him go for say, 28m?
Now we've paid 5 m comp. to Pompey and paid Ramos god knows how much to go?
If they've paid up the last 3 years of his contract, would that be about 12m??!!!!!
I've heard that it's more likely to be 4m.
Are you happy for your season ticket money to be wasted like this??
No, Levy has come unstuck big time with his total disregard for the Manager to manage.
He, like most Chairmen, is a control freak and wanted to have more power over the Team by employing his nark, Comolli.
All I hope is that Joe has been on the phone and told the little pr*ck a few home truths.
A Manager should be able to go to the Chairman, say what players he wants, then the Chairman says whether the money's available or not. It's very fu*king simple.
Make no mistake, Levy is doing this as much for himself as for the club.
He certainly doesn't want to be known as the Ridsdale of the South as his stock would go through the floor.
Having said all this, Ramos must take some blame. Players out of position, continuing with Zokora, etc.
I would say he's about 30% responsible, with Levy / Comolli taking the rest.
'well done Levy'. I don't think so.
But if anyone can sort this, 'Arry can!!

Unlike Nunchucks and other necromancers, I failed to sacrifice enough chickens and got it totally bloody wrong. Who'd have thought that little Dan would clear out the whole shower regardless of costs?, not me. I plumped for the 'not a chance at £15 mill' option.

Harry's picking todays team. Given he's already said we're unbalanced and light in midfield, any guesses?.
Fair play to Levy. Got it wrong and done something about.
If Redknapp doesn't succeed then I think we know that its an impossible job. But the right appointment at the right time.

"In my opinion, and with the benefit that comes with running our Club with and without a Sporting Director in the past seven years, the successful management of a football club is not about structures or job titles. As in most businessess, it's about people: their personal qualities, their knowledge, their experience, their relationships, communication skills, interaction with colleagues, leadership and, of course, their ability."
Anyone else read this as "It was Comolli's fault, the useful f**king gooner tw*t!"
Well I'm happy that Ramos is gone .. we didnt learn from Santini that communication is a basic requirement.
Poyet, talked the talk but didnt walk the walk. Big pat on the back but ultimately glad hes out.
Comolli. No comment required there then.
Harry. I'm behind him 100% but I will not be entering debates on where we are going under him. Hes picking the team today and I expect to see Bentley starting on the right. I'd say Campbell will get the nod with Bent up front too. I expect he will turn Thud into a defensive midfielder. Europe is on the back burner.
And finally I hope he thinks BIG in the transfer window ..

Listening to Redknapp's (sorry, 'Arry's) interview on Sky it seems Jordan'll be staying at Pompey (as will Adams - relief all round). Wonder who'll be his number 2?
Well we cant say it wasnt time for a change, I only wish that it was the Chairman selling up, or Ramos being given the transfer window to bring in the players he wanted.
Redknapp has said exactly what we all knew, that we are missing too many players in too many key positions.....for this surely the Management team are taking the hit for Levy's failure!
I wish Levy would have admitted that he had made mistakes (especially as he poins out Berb wanted to leave at the end of his first season!), in his letter to us the fans, but without wanting to dwell on it too much, at least we have a chance at a fresh start.....
Lets see what formation Harry plays today, though to be honest, as half the squad is missing or suspended, I am not too hopeful, but at least I can see the sun coming up!!
Levy, I dont respect you, but I am glad you have made a decisive change for the better.
Mr Ramos and Mr Poyet, thanks for your time, and I am sorry you didnt get a fair crack of the whip. In fact you should have used the whip on Commolli!!
To the players, boys get your heads up, put your shirts on, its time to start playing for the club, yourselves, and the fans!!!!

You have to take his word over the Berbatov saga, that man u only upped the 20m offer in the last few days of the window.
And I agree there would have been total uproar if he'd have let him go for that price, in say, July.
However, I standby my statement of his
'previous' attitude towards football management.
He's come unstuck and I'd like to think he's learnt a very important lesson; that just cos you own a Ferrari, doesn't mean you know how to service it.
C.O.Y.S
Charlie the Cockeril I think he did admit he's made mistakes in his "open letter" on the club website......long winded and intellectually put all the same he's admitted mistakes
Now all Harry has to do is put the bloody round pegs in round holes and pick the best players for league games and we'll start to see the positives! He probably agreed to pick the team today because it realy isn't that difficult! Juande made it look difficult.
I feel refreshed today. I've seen to many years as a Spurs fan to get too carried away but by wearing my Spurs shirt today a bit of the pride will have returned rather than wearing it with a feeling of duty as I have been in recent weeks!
It wil;l be a clean slate for the whole squad so some players may come back from the wilderness too!

fatknacker, I read his letter before placing my post below....Levy is not directly taking the blame, where clearly he is to blame.
1. getting rid of Jol when it was Commolli's time to go was the first mistake.
2. not listening to Jol when he wanted to get rid of Berb at the end of his first season was a mistake, as keeping him unsettled the rest of the team and probably contributed to Keane wanting to leave, as Berb was his hitman partner.
3. letting the last window close with no holding player, left winger, or replacement defenders was a massive mistake, and frankly I dont believe Levy when he says the sale of Berb was not contingent on our getting our other targets in, as most of our targets only signed new deals with their current clubs on the last day of the window, and came out shortly after saying we tried to do 11th hour deals for them, which makes me believe the money or offloading Berb was the driver.
4. bringing in Ramos then making him impotent and not signing players he wanted or needed, gave us the 'soft-centred' squad that Harry has already gone on record as saying we have. Do you honestly think Ramos really wanted to play Bentley at right back?
Everyone apart from Ramos has been quick to trash talk the club, and the current state of affairs, only Ramos has had the courtesy to not speak publically, though if I was him I would speak up now and set the record straight, though I reckon his pay-off will not allow him to.
While I do applaud the decisions made last night, They would not had been necessary has we sacked Commolli when e brough tin Ramos, or even earlier when Jol was in charge....
anyway onwards and upwards.

Charlie,
He's chairman, and ultimately all wrong decisions end up at his door. He's admitted to some of them.
Your points 1 and 2 are made with the benefit of hindsight. At the time, Jol looked more astute than Ramos.
Point 3 is clearly laid at Comolli's door. Levy has denied the money issue. What concrete information do you have to disbelieve his statement?.
Point 4, Ramos worked under a DoF before and new the set up before he came. That the DoF turned out to be a white elephant is another thing.
I'm not his greatest fan but it's taken balls to do what he has. I'm willing to give him the benefit of any doubt and I'm right behind the club. COYS COYS COYS

Now redscnapps has always been linked with the Spurs job, everytime we have sacked a manager in recent years his name has been mentioned and Levy has always overlooked him. Levy IMO has finally seen the light, he's given Harry the keys to the kitty and the sole charge of turning our team and season around. I think he's more than capable of doing it.
He picks the team for the Bolton game today and he'll be speaking to the players before the game and at half time. He'll get a glimpse of whats needed to get the team going again and the areas that need strengthening. Certain players will blossom under Harry. I believe his brand of management will get players like Bent, Bale, Woody and JJ on fomr again, fill them with confidence and settle the side.
Pompey will no doubt be raided come the January window. I reckon a return could be on the cards for Defoe and I will not be surprised to see Diarra & Krancjar finding there way to White Hart Lane either.
The Bolton game takes on extra signifigance today, Harry's first chance to see the team and talk to the players should gee them up. The stadium will no doubt be jumping today and OF COURSE Harry can make himself a hero this Wednesday night against the Woolwich Gypsies. If asnyone can get the lads goign for Wednesday then I'm sure Harry can!
Its good to have two Harry Hotspurs isn't it??
Levy's closing paragraph:
Your support has never been more important - and we are grateful to so many of you for the messages of support and encouragement the Club has received during this difficult period. Now's the time for all of us to pull together and to get behind Harry and the team.
I agree with the bloke. Lets get behind Harry and the boys, if you can't support your team in times of trouble than you aren't a fan. Put aside your differences with Levy and just focus on supporting the people that matter, the manager and the players need us now more than ever.

He's always been as open as possible, he admits he's not a football man, although apart from Dave Whealan at Wigan which other chairman is? He does however support Spurs, and did do before being involved. Surely he must have more passion for us than say Roman at Chavski or the yanks at AV, Manure, Giro boys etc.
He decided to appoint Frank Arnesen, not a bad appointment as the richest club in the world poached him. He then appoints DC. At the time most people thought it was a good move as he was credited with finding a lot of the gems that played for the other lot over the years. Hasn't worked out, Levy now appoints Arry.
This may or may not be a good move, this is Levy's problem, with the benefit of hindsight we can all say Ramos was a bad move or DC but at the time the general concensus was positive.
How many other chairman would come out and admit their mistakes, how many others have spent £173m or whatever it is over the last 3 years? No!t many!

All I'm hoping for is a good performance, I want the boys to show a bit of fight and passion. Harry is picking the team for today's game and to simply Judge him on his first game in charge would be ludicrous.
Like I said, a good solid performance, cut down the mistakes, play to win and get some attacking verve instilled in the side is whats needed today. A win of any sorts will boost the club and the players today. Right now I'd take a 1-0 win.

However no amount of...He's always been as open as possible, he admits he's not a football man, although apart from Dave Whealan at Wigan which other chairman is? He does however support Spurs, and did do before being involved. Surely he must have more passion for us than say Roman at Chavski or the yanks at AV, Manure,...
For what it's worth I agree with you on the above Ginge.
without success to start with football in the Prem is a bloody lottery. Levy has done wonders with the finacial state of the club but even with all the best will in the world and the best laid plans success is far from predictable and especially if you do not have the choice of the worlds elite who will only move to Champions league clubs.
If anything we could acuse the Spurs board of trying to act like a Champions league club before we actually are. But I do believe it was all with the best intentions. Fist job now should be to realise our station in the league and take small steps to build. We are still below the champions league teams in terms of playing squad and sucess but well above the majority of the rest in terms of infrastructure and finance. Success/Champions League is not really that far away, if anything the board have overcomplicated our objectives and today Levy had taken great strides to get back to basics!
For a few years now I have believed that we are just a few small steps away from the top four teams and by simplifying the management structure and a few minor additions to the playing staff success may not be that far away.
This is not just overoptimism given the events of the last 14 hrs but a general long term view.
COYS!!!
Yesterday afternoon I posted on here that if our position hadnt changed by January we should make a raid on Portsmouth for Redknapp, Adams, Defoe and Diarra. A matter of hours later Redknapped is announced as manager. How good am I? Ha Ha
Adams may not follow, but surely Defoe and Diarra are now realistic JAnuary targets. Or, more so now than ever, another call by me could well follow in January.... Owen and Heskey!!! Watch this space.

Arry admitted that signing people from Pompey would depend on them, I think he was saying they could make it difficult for us as we've pinched their manager (albeit in a much better way than we did with Ramos!)
Harry - is your real last name Redknapp? or is this some really big coincidence
Anyway, welcome Mr Redknapp, sort us out before you have a heart attack but please don't let your son tinker round with any learning badges etc as he was crap. Happy to have his wife though

The action he's taken and his open letter only make me respect him more. As he says, he employ's people to advise him on football related matters and that every decision the board make are in the best interest...I personally won't jump like a wimpering lap dog onto the chairman because he's apologised for his cock ups.
If you believe the sun shines out of him, then that's down to you.

Arsewipe.
Arsewipe?
I see you've resorted to your juvenile best again, after your previous quip:
'As for these Levy knockers! what are you on? All the "makes me believe" etc How the F*CK would you know? Can you not read? Did you learn English with Ramos? You my friend's are c*ck's of the Charliest order!'
Let's see if I can match that....
....Here goes.....
..... Lap Dog, Don't forget to lick your ar*e the next time you take a sh*t!!!
There you go, aren't I funny too.
Some of us are trying to have a debate on this site without getting into woeful insults just because there are differences of opinion.
Come back on when you've grown up.
children ... this is an exciting day for all spurs fans - lets not blow it by squabbling
I for one would like to see Louise Redknapp in the showers after the game
4-4-2 with modric dropped in behind pav up front?
gomes
hutton-woody-king-gunter
bentley-thudd-jenas-lennon
pav-modric
Reply to nicktheyid:
Yep, this is a very positive move but please no 'well done Levy'.
He got us into this mess and it's his duty to get us out of it.
He persisted with backing Comolli 100% over Jol and obviously, to a significant level, over Ramos.
He fuc*ed up the whole Berbatov issue by not...
Garbage! absolute rubbish! If I heard mugs like you spouting that cr*p in the pub I'd have to call you an arsewipe or such like (2nd think that came into my head after reading it, the first was c*ck!).
"I hope Joe's been on the phone and told the little prick a few home truths!" - brilliant
"No, Levy has come unstuck big time with his total disregard for the manager to manage" - What, how, when, where? Are you a fly on the wall with all this insider knowledge? sigh.....
"I would say he's about 30% responsible" Really, thanks for that, did you make a spreadsheet, I'd be really interested in how you've worked that out.
"He f*cked up the whole Berbatove saga etc....." His replacement, according to Mr Levy (I presume you can read) was Pav, so you would have to assume that it was Keane that was not replaced, he admits errors, everyone makes them (including you in this sentance).
Debate on this site all you wish, however if your slagging of our Chairman (who in my eyes has done ok) calling him a little prick etc, you may find people do not agree. To call our Mr Levy names when he obviously is not going to reply is the mark of a very grown up man. Don't give it the big un then complain when you get called a c*ck, bellend, arsewipe or the like.
Gomes, Hutton, Corluka, King, Assou-Ekotto, Bentley, Jenas, Huddlestone, Modric, O'Hara, Pavlyuchenko. Subs: Cesar, Zokora, Lennon, Bent, Gunter, Giovani, Campbell.
Spurs team against Bolton.
Woody must be injured, thank god Kings playing, and THUD is back. Bent & Zok dropped!

oh and JS' mate number 2 is at left back (och-aaahhhh I hear him scream!)
it'll be interesting to see how we do line up.
O'hara or modric on left? modric supporting pav?
If we can get bentley, modders and thud playing, then there's potential for some nice passing and through balls - pav is looking isolated...
at least we should be up for it though, trying to impress old 'arry 'otspur

We look a completely different side! Stroke of genius playing Modric in the hole, he's having a blinder!
we are winning. Pav scored, bentley crossed.
this is strange.
What happens with our summer signings who wigned because of the Ramos factor? Do we kiss goodbye to Giovani in the summer?
Who gives a fuck? right now we are leading for the first time this season..... we have to win this.
Are we winning because of Redknapp or Bale?

just got in...as prior family arrangements that don't understand the world of tottenham hotspur....pav has scored....harry is on the bench...mcann just been sent off....is the worm turning for us....coys
Is Gomes having a howler??? Sounds like he's a total clown coming for crosses

no gomes is just doing what he he thinks is best...at least the back four know he is going to come
gomes is being an unnecessary liability on crosses. His do or die attitude to collecting the ball is not the best answer! Modric is clearly loving not having to worry about defending, he's looking much more dangerous

Good day lads. Crazy club we support, innit? Never a dull moment to be sure!
Harry - I'd love to hear your thoughts on a possible #2 for Redknapp? His boy Jamie? Sheringham? Ginola perhaps?
2 nil to the Tottenham!
2 nil to the Tottenham!

We're back!!
Spurs to win and the checkbook Chelski to loose on the same day. Would have got mental odds on that yesterday!!!

Cheers Sir. Earlier that I thought, but definitely a good move. Redknapp the only option for us.
Great to get a win.
And the boy Modric sounds like he's having a game and half. Hopefully he'll settle now and start producing.
What chance a win on Wednesday? I would love it
Though i'd settle for two draws next week.
A first step in the right direction to be sure. Sounds like Modric and Bentley in particular played more to their advertised ability than they ever had under Juande. Let's hope it continues.

anyway 2-0 the MIGHTY SPURS!!

This is how you manage players who are "down"!
Does this mean i don't have to sit in the corner rocking?
Or have I just started hallucinating?

A manager who communicates with them - how refreshing. That was a different team out there today - an actual team, not a bunch of blokes trotting around a football pitch!

Bring on the Arsenal!
What a performance! Modric, Hudd, JOH, JJ & Bentley. Take a bow boys take a bow. The Bolton 'hard as nails' midfield was dominated by Big tom and the Mod. I am absolutely thrilled with the the manner in which we dominated that game.
I don't know what harry said to them but he's already done more than Ramos has all season. Long may it continue.
One sour point......... Gomes WTF!! I love him to peices but someone needs to reign him in. He had some bizarre moments today.
Gomes - 7
BAE - 6
King - 8
Corluka 7.5
Hutton - 7
O'Hara - 8
Modric - 9 MOTM
Hudd - 8.5
JJ - 7
Bentley - 7
Pav - 7
Bent - 7
Lennon - 6
Harry Redknapp - 10

Understand that I couldn’t care less about your difference of opinion.
As the old saying goes; opinions are like ar*eholes, everybody’s got one.
But you’re immature for trying to impress yours on others by being abusive to those that disagree with you.
Many people on various forums make reference to third parties as pri*ks, tos*ers, etc, etc.
Take a look at previous H.H. threads.
However you made the mistake of insulting fellow blog users to make your point.
I’d like to think that even you can see there’s a difference?
Now let’s see if one or two of your statements are based on ‘fly on the wall insider knowledge’ or not:
‘As such I reckon he may of lost the dressing room and so had to go’.---Is that a fact or your opinion? Let me see, I wonder??
‘Big Sam etc were the obvious names’.---You obviously have a great understanding of the club’s footballing history to make this call.
‘with the benefit of hindsight we can all say Ramos was a bad move or DC but at the time the general concensus was positive’.--- Was this concensus based on an XL spreadsheet, or just from the voices in your head?
As you can see, it ain’t hard to piss on someone’s firework.
It’s how you go about it that matters.
Bored now.
