Tonight's Squad Includes...

bird
Eats, Shoots & Leaves. A girl after my own heart (and foliage) it's Miss Zagreb.

Anyway, get your laughing gear round this. Ryan Mason, John Bostock  Dorian Dervitte are tipped, amongst others of course, to feature this evening.

Which will make this a game where 'Arry stamps his authority on proceedings and sends out a couple of clear messages. Our Premiership campaign will not be compromised by 'other' tournaments. And that we have talent beyond our first eleven which ought to be utilised.

Redschnapps told Sky Sports, "I'd love to get some of the youth team into the first team, that is the long-term aim. " Which is a far cry from Wendy's 'them and us' approach.

Of Bostock in particular 'Arry said, " He's on the bench and I'd love to get him on the pitch," Redknapp said. "He's only 16, a kid with terrific talent and a lovely left foot." I bet it's replusive compared to Miss Zagreb's,  but I digress.

'Arry's attitude is refreshing in that there is an air of openess and common sense. Not knocking him for a second bu saying this, but he's making the sort of decisions 90% watching the games would make. Despite the feel good factor we urgently need to stop mucking about and get out of the relegation zone sharpish.

'Arry is on the case. "I've never seen a tighter league and it may take more points than normal to stay up.

"At the moment the ambition is to make sure we get out of the bottom group of the table, then you can relax and play with less fear."

So to the game itself. Stats bore me be here's a goody.  This lot have never won on English soil.

I had a bit of luck with my last Lennon anytime scorer bet so we'll revisit that happy hunting ground this time out at 10/3. Score? Heart says 8-0 obviously, head says 2-1.

Oh yeah and the press to give Gomes a break.

Bostock surely won't start, but looking forward to taking a closer look at that lovely left foot.

Campbell to start? Yes, why not - give the lad his dues he was a trier when the others had lost the will.

My money's on him for the opener at 5/1

The lack of progress from the youth team to the first team is the unspoken scandal of the modern era and ranks alongside the purchase of Paolo Tramezzani as the biggest crime in the modern era.

If nothing else, having a kid take your place for a couple of games will give some of our "stars" something to think about.

Actually, he hasn't featured at all for the reserves this season, despite there being a severe lack of striking options.

Will you be saying that if we get dicked...I like to see the focus is on the premiership but we still need the revenue from these games as we are down some serious january spending money for the appointment of Arry and Ramos fees

Lets hope the spine of the team is strong hey

Even if they only get a few minutes at the end, it will be great to see Mason and Bostock getting some first team action. I would also like to see Taarabt and Ghaly have a go.

I expect this will be a tight match. 2-1 the Tottenham with goals from Fraser and Bostock with a late winner.

Surely some dodgy site will be showing it, not that I support that method obviously, how tight it's ÂŁ2! I know I'll forget to cancel it though! Totally agree the league is and should be the main focus, but think we still need to stay in Europe to help attract players in Jan. Although Harry's probably already done the deals.

Isn't it brilliant being a Spur, what a ridiculous rollercoaster start to the season. To think that bar Manure I fancy us to beat anyone now! And the scum are in tatters thanks to us! Haven't Zagreb all had the shits or something? They are top of the league though...

DV,
Have to disagree with you there mate. We make flumpence from UEFA cup games, mid-table security should be our only priority right now. It's little more than an image boosting jolly, and should be seen as an ideal opportunity to test youngsters and fringe players imho. Of course i'd still like us to win 3-0. COYS COYS

Why is it that so many Spurs fans seem to want an unproven loanee in ahead of our leading goal scorer? Bent has 6 goals in 14 appearences this season and in the Premier League he has 5 goals from 7 starts! Pretty damn good stats to me! I like what I see from young Campbell but to me we have to go with the man not the boy (unless Arry opts for both).

Good point. Let hope HJR does opt for both and then brings on the Bostock for good measure later in the 2nd half and give us a left-footed version of Bentleys goal against the goonsquad.

Can we please drop the 'arry, 'appy, 'onest chirpy cockney vernacular every time we refer to our manager. He's common. I get the point.

OK, but as long as were making polite requests. If you are going to come on here, get an identity.

What a delightfully obscure suggestion. I'm not sure I know what you mean. Are you being philosophical? I have an identity, it's written on my passport alongside my picture so I have to exist - unlike poor old Taraabt who must be beginning to wonder.

Anyway, I'll be sure to use it next...

I mean slap a picture next your name on here You see mine? I am about to pull the trigger...splat. I just knocked the H off your name.

TEAM NEWS - The big news is that John Bostock, just 16, is on the bench for the first time for a competitive first team fixture. Dorian Dervite also returns to the squad and is on the bench. Otherwise, Harry Redknapp makes five changes from th team that beat Liverpool on Saturday as Alan Hutton, Michael Dawson, Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon and Darren Bent come in for Vedran Corluka, Ledley King, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Jamie O'Hara and Roman Pavlyuchenko.

Halftime player ratings

Gomes 5.5 (just for staying awake)
Hutton 5.8 good show
dawson 5.9 better than I thought
Zok 4.8 (for being Zok)
Woodgate 6 a real Captain (note to manager)
Bentely 5.5 (for trying to be to fancy)
Thud 7.9 (nice shot...

BC,
Harsh on the Zok. Thought his pirouette deserved 1.5 on it's own. He made a few tackles and passes 8O
6.5 imo, and i usually think he's useless wank.

yes, sometimes a wank can be useful.

no point walking around with a loaded gun

By the way, why can't we make this our permanent home kit!!!!

because we'd lose the stripey socks! :D

It's a shame that all this confidence and conviction didn't kick in from the beginning of the season. We might be in the top tier now.

Unless we did have it, but the mode of delivery was wrong. Maybe we needed to lose it in order to find it again.

Any statistitions out there?

What's the highest possible point total we can reach? How many games will we need to win to get more points than we had last year?

If a train leaves Kings Cross for Darlington at noon and coach leaves Charring Cross for Cleethorpes at 2 pm how will pass through Hucknall fist?

Answers on a self adressed envelope.

It's a shame that all this confidence and conviction didn't kick in from the beginning of the season. We might be in the top tier now.

Unless we did have it, but the mode of delivery was wrong. Maybe we needed to lose it in order to find it again.

Hazza, I was right about the hat-trick factor, I can live with the fact that it wasn't the new kid though!

Should have laid down some ridiculous bet at least...

Well pleased with the performance tonight. I reckon this game could give Bent a real confidence boost. I don;t know what Harry has put the team on but I want some!

It's oestrogen. It's how we competed with the ladies' team.

Very sharp! =D

We'll be hanging out our washing on their goal-line.
